SuperMikey Posted 20 June, 2009 Share Posted 20 June, 2009 I'm quite a serial downloader, but never upload anything. Ought to keep me safe for a little while longer while the bloodhounds track down the uploaders It's ridiculous the lengths that companies go to nowadays to assert themselves, surely they can see that the way that people get their music is changing, and they need to change with it? I can't remember which company it was, but they are supposedly launching a download service where you pay a set amount of money per annum and get unlimited downloads of tracks in their database afterwards. THAT is the future, but record companies are just a little too blind and self-absorbed to see that.
Chris Larkin Posted 20 June, 2009 Share Posted 20 June, 2009 She clearly won't have $2million to pay the fine anyway, so I don't really see what they hope to achieve here. It might scare a few people off but not enough to have any effect.

BadgerBadger Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 Never see a poor band that made it big The music world is changing and the big companies are not the ones in charge of the change and they're poohing themselves. Power to the masses Bands should make most of there money from live shows In most cases I wouldn't buy albums anymore as my money is required for more important things but if I hear something I really like then I buy the album, it's like test driving a car. mdearlove Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 a combination of Spotify and software called Replay Music works well if you don't want to download via torrents. Replay music captures from your sound card, splits the songs and gets the song info from the internet. It does mean you have to listen to the music or leave your PC streaming the music while it captures but other than that its a good way around the torrent issue
