NickG Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 please can we have his interview back on here? 1) to cheer us up 2) remember how reliable his word is Thought his investor had remembered he had no money?
teamsaint Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 Could it just be that here are financial problems with the Pinnacle bid? Its certainly often seems to be the case that takeovers fail when its time to put up the folding stuff.I would have thought that a REALLY well funded bid would be able to buy its way through any problems- and might well put up with the -10 in order to do the deal- after all even without the -10, promotion in one season is far from assured. Perhaps the exclusivity period ran out while they were either a. Still looking for more backing or b. Waiting for just such "problems" to emerge to help drive the price down. There have been persistent rumours thst the £500k was not paid, in full at least, by the pinnacle money man- maybe it actually is a shoestring bid. Hopefully all this is not the case, and the bid is a couple of legal probs away from a great new era for the Saints.
Mole Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 I might have know the photocopier salesman would pop up now. The bloke is a complete dickhead.
Mole Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 Some of the stories I could tell about him would make your hair stand on end and I am really disturbed that with the Pinnacle offer now balanced on a knife edge this buffoon has re-entered the china shop. Tell the stories Dunc. No one owes this cretin any respect.
derry Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 The Swiss bidder I understand is worth more than a billion and watching closely what is happening.
gordonToo Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 The Swiss bidder I understand is worth more than a billion and watching closely what is happening. If that is the case why don't they just come in and trump the Pinnacle bid? With a billiion at their disposal we're only talking small change and that's taking KK's £20m demand nto account.
OldNick Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 The Swiss bidder I understand is worth more than a billion and watching closely what is happening.its good to have safety nets, problem is knowing us there will be a bloody big hole in it that was forgotten to be repaired.

derry Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 why are the swiss not happy Derry? It is I am told the way the administrator is managing the bids. I get the feeling they feel hard done by. How true this is I don't know but they seem to be substantial. It may be them that are kicking off. I would think if the present situation becomes untenable it would be them not MC that the administrator would turn to.

derry Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 Derry is no fool and is worth listening to You could have added and knows a goalkeeper when he sees one;). Thanks Nick.

If there has been favouritism as you imply then Monday could well be put up or shut up for the Pinnacle bid.
Mole Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 Derry is no fool and is worth listening to Let's agree to disagree on that one. I've seen enough ITK's on here to know they are all just gullible fools that come in handy for firing a gun that someone else has loaded.
Mole Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 I'd be interested to know why Derry is posting what he is? I wonder if it's in his interest for the Pinnacle bid to fail....
Saint Charlie Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 IMO Jackson would be on a par with a Lowe return. He guy is not suitable in any way! And I don't want Peter Reid as manager.
derry Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 If there has been favouritism as you imply then Monday could well be put up or shut up for the Pinnacle bid. I'm sure it's not about favouritism, a lot was said about both sides, the administrator and the way things have panned out. It seems more about the way things have been done and this present situation re the deadline. It remains to be seen whether Pinnacle finally close this deal. They have been aware from the beginning regarding the points deduction. They did take legal advice, surely the league taking this stance would have been no surprise, which is only repeating what they had said in April, that there was no mechanism for appeal except in circumstances that didn't apply. I suspect any appeal would be about the league's right to make decisions on the hoof when the rules as written don't apply. It would seem a strange thing to do, collapsing the deal, if having already committed £500k on a non refundable deposit. They may be, because of the legal advice, trying to turn this over but in the end accept it. It could also be a way out. What struck me was that I've never seen anywhere that it was actually Pinnacle that paid the deposit. I've heard it said that a third party could have been involved. Then again all the parties concerned are talking about two minor legal matters and the football league problem whilst everything else was sorted. It may be that Fry has decided to continue with Pinnacle, however Tony Lynham does throw a small amount of doubt when talking about Pinnacle fulfilling all their obligations but others haven't.
SFC Forever Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 I am another supporter who is in the know. I like several other in the knows don't very often get the info across very well. Perhaps it is our limited vocabulary or perhaps sheer ignorance of the facts. Today though I know that people snapping at each other because you don't like what has been written is totally unwanted. We have enough problems without adding to them. Let us show the world, yes the whole wide goddam world, how we can all pull together. As it so happens I have read some wonderful posts on this site and some totally abnoxious ones. So far Derry is in my books a person who tries to say it as it is.
derry Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 I'd be interested to know why Derry is posting what he is? I wonder if it's in his interest for the Pinnacle bid to fail.... I personally want the Pinnacle bid to be closed as soon as possible. The club can then get on with it's reformation. In any event Pinnacle can't do a damn thing until they close the deal. They will either get a deal with the league, or get nowhere, then have to either close the deal or walk away. If Pinnacle walk away, the Swiss company seem a much better bet than the Jackson initiative as his Bournemouth experience puts me off, despite Weston's view. I know nothing substantial about the Swiss company but have been told of their supposed value and current interest. It may be that the administrator will ask for a further bid on Monday as the wages for June are due next week.

It may be that Fry has decided to continue with Pinnacle, however Tony Lynham does throw a small amount of doubt when talking about Pinnacle fulfilling all their obligations but others haven't. The deposit was probably paid in part from funds originally suppled by Leon Crouch as we now know that he has been lined up by Pinnacle to be a director. Quite was this implies regarding the level of funding the consortium has at its disposal though remains to be seen. I agree re the 10 points issue. That must have been factored into the figures ages ago so it can only really be interpreted as a last ditch attempt to force the FL's hand. It's a pity we don't know a little more about the Swisss interest. If it was serious and they have the level of backing that you suggest I wonder why Fry didn't follow it up when Pinnacle appeared to have dropped out of the picture.

This is something that I had heard. One has to remember that the Swiss group came in at the last minute. The thing that struck me was that if the Swiss came in they would hardly have LC involved and we do know he wants to be involved. To accelerate Pinnacle's bid it may be the money was paid ensuring his involvement, exclusivity, freezing the Jackson due diligence and stopping the Swiss from achieving exclusivity.
Calvin Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 Probably someone crap like Peter Reid! We want Pinnacle! So you expect a good manager in the current league and situation we are currently in!
Thedelldays Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 So you expect a good manager in the current league and situation we are currently in! i thought no one would come here anyway...? lol this site...
skintsaint Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 Reid did win the T&T Cup in 2008 so has proven his success
Nexstar Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 who is the current manager of Chad u21s? Natoltiga Okalah - Men's Coach Charlotte Deguidin - For the women's side
dubai_phil Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 Derry seems to be making some interesting and neutral points. I wonder who Mole is. Either a mate of Dainty Dave, Leon or AS would be my guess, man you really have an issue with someone you never acknowledge having met. Personally, I think and also hope that Pinnacle get it, they have the right structure publicly and they have wisdom in their communications. I know nothing about the Swiss, but again IF they have money and ambition then I wait like everyone else for them to come in. Then, finally, IF I have a choice between getting off my ass and doing something or having no club then TBH I think I would. But I truly hope not, I enjoy my life as it is. FFS I am working as a major part of the World's biggest ever Golf Tournament, why would I EVER want to swap THAT for a wet Tuesday in some obscure part of Yorkshire. It is really difficult knowing that IF things go wrong you have the contacts who COULD help, but want you to be involved. THIS IS WRONG, I never signed up for this cr*p. I expect MJ is now wondering whether he should have got off his ass. Seems it really isn't worth the effort. Sod it I'll sit and moan instead like all the other super heroes on here. What do I care, I'm off to see my mum tomorrow, stuff saving anyone I'll go watch Springsteen & White Lies at Glasto instead next weekend and pray Tony sorts it out. Fry is the problem, nobody believed me at the start of this even though I pointed out my sources were from the City. Just think Silverjet. Sod it and may the upgrade God smile on me tomorrow
Baj Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 A RIVAL consortium says it has the cash in place to buy Saints should the Pinnacle bid dramatically fail. Dorset businessman Marc Jackson, who is fronting the bid – also revealed he had lined up a current international manager to lead the team. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4449183.Second_consortium_ready_to_buy_Saints/?ref=rss God sometimes it's so hard to bite my lip......
TopGun Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 Nothing wrong with this. If the Pinnacle bid doesn't come off, you'd want there to be another interested party to pick up the pieces. The guy doesn't deserve all this hate, he's just a broker act on the behalf of a party interested in buying the club. He's a prize **** actually. A buffoon with no grip on reality.
ottery st mary Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 Sorry I do not believe a word of the whole Jackson circus....Even if he was the last resort he would not take Saints over. Wish he would leave well alone....There is NO substance to him or his alleged backers....Let Saints move forwards as from Monday/Tuesday.
Morph Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 And what the **** would you know Derry? Another gullible idiot taken in by Jacko. No not true. Derry is a good guy along the same lines as Weston and Fitzhugh Fella Regards Morph
saint_mears Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 The more i read about this Jackson guy the worse it gets ! I can just about remember him posting on this forum a couple of years back and it was clear he was merely being used a puppet. There was a post made on 606 (yes i know) that Jackson had all of Lowes mates ready to run the club again. We do not want these people involved in our football club. Someone who drives a hire car is not what i would call a successful businessman.
Mole Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 No not true. Derry is a good guy along the same lines as Weston and Fitzhugh Fella Regards Morph He's a pensioner that writes books?
derry Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 (edited) I've just realised that the original bid from MJ whilst the sums may be similar is not the bid now on the table. The original Equity fund backers have gone together with the original wealthy man that fell out with Fry who showed the original proof of funds. The new backers are from the middle east so it is completely different. Allegedly the funds are sitting in a solicitor's account waiting. Surely the whole process should start again for this bid, proof of funds etc. I do accept that this may have happened, however I now have grave reservations regarding the credibility of this bid. I just don't see that switching backers is credible. Edited 20 June, 2009 by derry
derry Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 He's a pensioner that writes books? The only writing I do is on a golf card.
harvey Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 How did you 'just realise' that then?......if you don't mind me asking
derry Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 How did you 'just realise' that then?......if you don't mind me asking I read it in the Pink, all in quotes from MJ.
harvey Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 I read it in the Pink, all in quotes from MJ. Ah! ok, thanks.
Amesbury Saint Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 Bunch of ungrateful t***s! How many of you cyberwarriors has done anything to try and secure the future of our club? People should be grateful that there are others who are prepared to step in and try to keep the club going IF Pinnacle goes horribly wrong! Question for you moaners and groaners........would you rather there was no Plan B, meaning there would be no club IF Pinnacle falls through? Agreed - pleased there is a plan B
Viking Warrior Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 Mole I maybe somewhat Jetlagged but you need to crawl back into the hole from whence you come from. You have not got a clue what is going on re Pinnacle. MJ the Swiss the FL etc etc Derry is a very sound and respected person and like others have already said his comments are worth paying attention to.
derry Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 Agreed - pleased there is a plan B Changing backers after the exclusivity agreement is making it look more mirage than fact. I think maybe the Swiss could be a more credible plan B.
Paul Chuckle Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 I'd rather have a club to support next season than none at all. If Pinnacle group fails which I am sure it won't just be greatful that somebody else is out there willing to make an offer. If it's MJs lot then so be it. I thought fans were desperate to save this club now it's on 'their terms only' no pleasing some people
dubai_phil Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 I've just realised that the original bid from MJ whilst the sums may be similar is not the bid now on the table. Surely the whole process should start again for this bid, proof of funds etc. I do accept that this may have happened, however I now have grave reservations regarding the credibility of this bid. I just don't see that switching backers is credible. There is no bid from MJ, the article makes that very clear Pinnacle are everybody's preferred bidders A very specific response was made to a very specific question from the Administrator. The Administrator publicly stated that he would be doing that, what a shock, he did. If Pinnacle walk away and the Administrator asks for a bid, then there is a clearly defined process that needs to be followed. IF that happens then the Administrators will not wish to talk solely to an "agent" but will insist on talking to the principles. He may be impossible to deal with but he is not a fool. IF the administrator has no bids then there is only one group who are prepared to allow Saints to take a 25 point penalty next season, and surprisingly they have fairly vocal friends on here. As for answering a question from Mr Law at the Echo, well, let us say the message was very clear but not read by many, but it was also not very clever from a timing perspective. And finally, no I don't have 15 million quid hanging around as my wife's divorce lawyer has already found out, and anyway I'll be sitting in the mud next weekend, sod the club
St_Tel49 Posted 20 June, 2009 Posted 20 June, 2009 I might have know the photocopier salesman would pop up now. The bloke is a complete dickhead. I'm not interested in your opinion - only facts. If you have any then spit them out - its only right that the rest of us should know.
