there has been plenty of fact posted that show MJ is not credible.

There has been a lot of opinion that he is not credible - not quite the same thing. Don't misunderstand me - I desperately want the Pinnacle bid to succeed - but there seems to me that there has been a sudden burst of posts here this evening aimed at discrediting Jackson and implying that he has tried to foul up the Pinnacle bid by getting at the Football League. If that really is true then he should be suspended by his goolies from a gantry at Fratton Park but I am not going to blindly accept that he did such a thing without some proveable support for it. As a PS - my comment above was really more of a follow up to Mole's post on another thread.

I'm not interested in your opinion - only facts. If you have any then spit them out - its only right that the rest of us should know.

I can't prove that Santa Claus doesn't exist.

I can't prove that Marc Jackson doesn't have a credible takeover package.

But, on the evidence I have seen, I'd rather trust my Great Aunt Hilda to run Saints.

And she died twenty years ago. Broke, senile and dribbling into her soup.

This is the bit I don't get. If MJ does not have a credible takeover package - why is Fry giving him the time of day? He - Fry - does not seem like an idiot.

Cos Mark Fry can't prove it either. He can't just turn Jackson away because he reckons he's a bit of a loony.

It's not as if the world's billionaires are queueing up to buy the club. A delusional Walter Mitty photocopier salesman - who's willing to bluff - gets a hearing, I'm afraid.

I honestly believe that I could have put together a bid with my missus that would have had to have Fry's serious attention. I'd probably only be found out when I had to write a big cheque, but I could quite easily indulge my own insane fantasies (and get some coverage in the Daily Echo) until that time.

See the whole AFC Bournemouth embarrassment if you're in any doubt on this. Especially the regional TV interview with Jackson. If you can watch that interview without p*ssing your pants laughing several times, you have an abnormally strong bladder.

There is no bid from MJ, the article makes that very clear

Pinnacle are everybody's preferred bidders

A very specific response was made to a very specific question from the Administrator. The Administrator publicly stated that he would be doing that, what a shock, he did.

If Pinnacle walk away and the Administrator asks for a bid, then there is a clearly defined process that needs to be followed. IF that happens then the Administrators will not wish to talk solely to an "agent" but will insist on talking to the principles. He may be impossible to deal with but he is not a fool.

IF the administrator has no bids then there is only one group who are prepared to allow Saints to take a 25 point penalty next season, and surprisingly they have fairly vocal friends on here.

As for answering a question from Mr Law at the Echo, well, let us say the message was very clear but not read by many, but it was also not very clever from a timing perspective.

And finally, no I don't have 15 million quid hanging around as my wife's divorce lawyer has already found out, and anyway I'll be sitting in the mud next weekend, sod the club

I think we are at cross purposes Phil. I don't think we are talking about the same thing. In addition to the Echo Article there was a completely different large feature in the Pink on the front two pages.

That is where in his own words, MJ has given the information regarding the administrator contacting him to check that his bid still stood, plus the announcement that he since the exclusivity was granted, had new backers from the middle east plus his plans including not appealing the points deduction.

Groan - it is interviews like this that do our cause no good. If the league think there are any other bidders out there they could well play hardball when considering Pinnacle's application for a license.

Jackson should indeed be strung up at Fratton station wearing nothing but his cherry red and white underpants.

Along with some of his cronies (now where have I heard that word recently!)

This could be more than coincidence. The only good thing is publicity is a two edged sword, send the league the link to the Bournemouth interview.

Your deadline for WW's attack is getting close. Are you likely to get a deal?

Since the FL's own publicly stated intention in such cases is to protect its own interests (one of which is each division of its league being fully subscribed) and the continuing existence of its members (see UP's posts on another thread), I very much doubt that the FL would gain anything by simply jettisoning the Pinnacle bid or by playing hardball - at least not to the nth degree - as they would be extending the timescale for any deal to be struck and thereby potentially threatening their own structure, should any other deal also fail to materialise. There is no way on earth, to my mind, that anybody on the FL committee could be unaware of what a complete charlatan MJ is; even they could not give him the sort of credence that they would by that stage have denied Pinnacle.

Compromise is on the cards, if you ask me, at tomorrow's meeting. The FL have backed themselves into a corner in a huge way, and now have to find some face-saving mechanism whilst adhering to their own misson statement.

Derry - hard to deal with a madman.

Don't forget - Mr Frys mandate is quite simple really 'sell the club (to the highest bidder)'. Therefore it is probably a very good 'leaverage tool' to have with the current (Pinnacle) and any other potential (Swiss) buyers in order to get them to act quickly in securing a deal. He probably knows full well that MJ does not have the wherewithall to complete a deal - but he's hoping that MJ's presence (and intent to buy) may make others act sooner rather than miss the chance.
