Outlook snags

I have tried to attach outlook to my yahoo account. My receive emails work but when I go to send one it just sits in the outbox.

 

When i go to tools-options-accounts and test configuration. the only one that fails is the sending of the test email message..

 

can anyone else help me out..

You need to tick a box under....

Check the SMTP address you entered for yahoo. sometimes they make you use your ISP one instead.

 

Also, check that you have activiated "POP3" from the Yahoo Mail options online.

go into the email account and advanced settings, then on the second tab (i think) tick my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authenticationion.

done the authentication and changed the number (to what the online yahoo thing says)..

 

i have activated the POP3 but who do you do the first line pancake..?

also, how do you get outlook to automatically check for incoming mail and not require ne to click send/receive..?

what a load of crap...i cant send a bloody email from outlook....no matter what i do..ffs

have now found out that this does not work with the standard yahoo free email account and you need to sign up for yahoo plus

Should have had Googlemail in the first place. It's a piece of p!ss to configure Outlook for Googlemail.
