this takes the p**s now!

we all know that we are pretty much going to dissapointed on friday...

we'll all the refreshing pages, txting friends asking if they have heard anything and listening to the radio only to hear 'the deal has hit another couple of issues and will be completed early next week'...only for that to end up being another couple of days!!

This is getting stupid now, just want the club to be brought and for the owners to sort the club out and get us back to where we belong and where we were 5 years ago!

Not sure being a saints fan has ever been so stressful!!!

Brought where?

There is something NOT right about the buyout....It is not straight forward..Skeletons in the cupboard?

Surely it is not just the money....It on the face of it , would be a very good

purchase with scope to move back up the leagues....

Definitely something amiss:rolleyes:

PS....MB thanks for all your hard work on this forum....You are a star:D

I'm waiting for the inevitable excuse that there are a couple of minor issues to iron out with the FL. Want to believe it will happen, but this has gone on so long now it is hard not to believe that either the prospective interest is false (i.e. no money/ looking for a cheap deal/tyre kickers) , or the club set-up is so poor there are insurmountable hurdles for potential owners to overcome. On a scale of 1-10, where 10 is most likely, I would guess the chances of the takeover happening this week are about 3.

FFS its only 'could' be completed this week as well so it will probably/certainly take longer + the bloke who is actually involved isn't the one directly linked to all the money - for all we know he could be the dodgy black sheep of the family whop lives in a semi in Zurich with absolutely no Nazi gold at all :(

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!

Just buy the club FFS how many mor minor glitches can there be - is Fry being paid by the hour or something?

Oh FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do the deal.

End of.

I'm bored of this.

I suspect everyone involved is bored of this.

Fry must be bored.Bored..bored...bored..

I'm going to buy a lottery ticket...will probably win, takeover the club before this shower get their act together... ;-)

He probably is,but he's still being paid an even bigger wedge of money the longer this drags on.

Debt collectors and Administrators, are the only people making money these days.

What a weird world we live in ,when the vultures get paid handsomely for picking over the bones of unfortunate individuals and businesses !

They have been in talks for more or less the whole of last season. I hope we don't take as long!

The way I heard it was that it should be completed well before the end of this week.

I'll go for Wednesday 12.30.

NO way the FL will query the "fitness" of the directors or Fry is talking Pounds and they are talking Swiss Francs.

bound to be something

The real delay - the annoying one - was the 21 days Pinnacle sp*nked up the wall.

I really do think this Swiss thing will happen - probably in the next 48 hours.

The continual refrain that we're "nearly there" is starting to grate though.

I had expected the inevitable announcement from Fry,to say that there would be an announcement in 48hours.

Not to add to the obsessed rants but I do truly believe our past chairmen left us tied up in paperwork and complex issues so it was not easy, drawn out and complicated for the club to be taken over. Reason, to possibly keep them in power and keep a tight control of the club. Hence why it had been so hard to remove the parasites.

After all, what other explanation is there for a club having "so much potential" yet most investors not touching us (disregarding the dross & the perpetual tyre kickers?! FFS Tha Skates can even attract interest and how long were we in the Premier League?!)

There is definitely "issues" and some skeletons in the closet but NDAs will probably ensure this "sensitive information" (as mentioned by Fry) never sees the light of day.

I just want closure as this really is torture. I feel like I want to give up and move on, but I cannot. ARGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

People with money take over football clubs in order to MAKE money. Saints will never make a penny in profit from football. There could have been a property development angle, but the Dell is long since sold and St Mary Stadium built, and there is no land surrounding the new stadium which would benefit from hotels, office or leisure complexes.

The swiss want to take over Saints for some good reason - I am guessing name recognition for their kitchen and white goods range, since nationwide advertising for some £15M is fairly reasonable - they certainly have no intention to sling endless amounts of Swiss Francs at us to make the fans happy.

Saying that I like to think that swiss businessmen could provide some order and backbone which have been sadly lacking for years.

I would not be surprised if the following happened:

06/07/09 5:00pm Mark Fry announces the Swiss have taken over, making Saints the 5th richest club in the world.

07/07/09 - we get killed by the Solar Storm.

Enjoyed that... lol

I was hoping that my first post would be along the lines of ‘about time I can sleep at night now’. But as in most things to do with Southampton, its going to take time. Yep Plymouth down here have had a sort of take over, but the Guy was already a share holder so it was pretty straight forward. Not many lose ends.

For us, the problem might be some sort of side issue, that or the creditors want more pence in the pound. However I think that Gordon has hit the nail on the head, past ‘lack of’ moneymen might have allsorts of paperwork about who owns the land that the club stands on, access rights and deeds of covenants, if the holding company goes into admin, who those rights go to. Probably the football club, so the FL thinks that the club benefits from the holding company going, here have your -10. Or have the past board have a covenant that some rights come back to them, therefore they have some say in how the football club moves on?

Just me getting fed up with it all and no doubt others have a better idea.

Does anyone realise Mark Fry has a season ticket at FP.

actually a box at WHU allegedly

Guys this is NOT an easy deal.

For one, SFC Ltd is not in admin, so as has been pointed out a number of times this makes the total package more expensive than the actual asset value in cash terms, and the need to dig a bit deeper at the beginning impacts quite strongly on the ROI for an investor.

Also, IMHO not ALL the creditors will be taking a "percentage" of the debts, so Football, HMRC and some trade creditors will have to be paid iin full or carried over to the new company.

The deal IS do-able but it is "messy" it isn't about nasty skeletons though.

Meanwhile I feel really smug this afternoon

After posting on the "What do you wish for tomorrow thread" that I would be focusing on my golf I had a very enjoyable 9 holes, beat my buddy by 5 holes even after not playing for two weeks and shot 18 Stableford points in the first 8 holes before flubbing my final approach into a lake.

Completely forgot all about the takeover malarky until I entered the Pro shop and found a HUGE display saying

NOUVEAU PINNACLE - now available..

arrghh

Not sure which is worse, being reminded of that debacle or seeing FRENCH written in a retail outlet in Dubai....

I'm not racist

Just hate the fookin French
