Only just logged on after being away from internet this afternoon.

I have heard that Gillico have made the £12.5m bid, but Fry is saying he can see any of three completing - but in order of most likely

1) overseas investment group I mentioned before, base in Monacco

2) Swiss

3) Gillico

But all positive and professional so could go for any and would be happy (Fry) with any.

His brother Stephan Schmidheiny is also a billionaire.

He gives a lot of money to one of the charities I work for. Nice bloke - very philanthropic. Cant see him being interested in Saints though. No idea about what his brother and sister might be interested in.

Which, in plain English is my way of saying - I'm very confident that today will also be a good day for MB to watch the bikinis and the rest of us to watch Andy Murray do a Henman and let us down again (Oh and it should be a Pimms day today Thorpie, not a Guinness!)

Didn't need to be a genius to work that one out eh Phil

Do we have to wait til Monday at earliest or could an interested party sign on the dotted line at the weekend!!!???

Hope this is the case, unless Fry is off playing golf!

My golf went well today..lots of thrashing about as normal..however managed to seek out all of my Pinnacle balls...and hit the foooookkkers as far as I could....

(Best hope they don't go ahead now eh....haha)

I did the same. Pinnacle balls started off well and gave me great hope, but then started veering off course until eventually they all disappeared into the rough.

NickG, you are right from what I've been told -a consortium were hours away from exclusivity themselves and didn't think that Pinnacle had the finances in place to make a bid (correct!), which is why they were caught on the hop. Apparently been looking at us for 2 years. Whether they are the consortium that Fry is now closing in on a deal with is the same, I don't know - person who gave me the original info a couple of months ago has stayed sober during recent contact and frustratingly revealed nothing.

Have you tried revealing something to him ;)

That might help ... a bit of tit for tat so to say :D

Shame we're not allowed to gamble down here, it was always a dead cert, just like waiting for some good news from Saints or watching England in a World Cup.

Still the GOOD news was that because it was obvious what would happen in the tennis I managed to finish watching Series 1 of Fringe on download. Tough call in the freaky chick detective stakes - Anna Trov or Gillian Anderson....

Eric must get a yellow card - not having been on all day until late, especially seeing as it was Friday - so just for him - I had a proper DRAUGHT pint of Old Speckled Hen last week - Oh you have NO idea how good it tasted mate

Isnt there a cement mixing plant opposite SMS?

I have had a good evening playing golf came 3rd in the Highland Park 3 person team competition and won a bottle of 18year old Highland Park.

A whole bottle sounds too much for one person - do you need some assistance in drinking it? ;-)

Big piece on Gillico in the Echo with quotes from Batchelor. Batchelor refused to say if any former Saints directors were involved though. One or two potential managers identified.

Group consists of a guy in property, a guy in engineering, a guy in sport and a guy in development. All 4 will be on the board of directors if successful. Richard Williams non executive chairman.

Batchelor will only be involved in commercial matters.
