alki_in_korea Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 we just need to know what the hell is going on. I was taken aside today at work and asked how much longer i was gonna turn up for work tired and slightly merry. I need this to end soon. Im not bothered who buys the club right now as long as we dont die. I am losing my mind at the moment SOMEONE JUST GIVE US THE BLOODY MONEY
moonraker Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 The issue is whether any putative new owners can e.g. pay Stern John's salary. Or will they seek to make another million or so from player sales? Big difference. Trouble with this approach is why would someone invest alimited amount if they are not going to support the team and a return to better days. Selling players will niot deliver any ROI, stabilty just might and that has to be te key now.
trousers Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 What do they need a shed load of money for? Years 2 thru 5 of 'the plan'?
sussexsaint Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 That's a good thing, i've been able to have a shave and now i'm eating, nom nom nom I'm sure your missus is very happy So nothing happened whilst I've been out then , nobody got all upset about a playground word that was popular in the 70's ? or someone panicking that this is all Lowe in disguise?
brightspark Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 What a surprise. No takeover. Now I got to bed. I wonder what will be revealed in the morning? I'm going to have a stab. Hmmmmm. No takeover?
dubai_phil Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 are you posting from the desert links Phil? 46C and 50% humidity today - yeah right. Would be like trying to hold a golf club while in a sauna - effing driver goes further than the ball... I thought it was hot trying to take my tent down last Monday in a field in Somerset, tried to walk to the pool this afternoon, got halfway and decided that was enough exercise for the week and came back for a lie down. It is HORRIBLE outside over here, but at least while indoors I have A/C. Time for tennis and a cool beer methinks

dubai_phil Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 Talking about tennis, why weren't you carrying Rogers bag out today??? Image Rights problem. I'm apparently contracted to the European Tour/PGA. It's Tiger Woods, Colin Montgomerie or Rory Mcilroy only I'm afraid. They gave me awful stick about being pictured having a chat with Fed Express on CNN a couple of years back when I was supposed to be the exclusive joke teller to Tiger. Hmm now here's an idea - maybe Pinnacle didn't have enough money but they held a dozen debentures at Wimbledon and are hoping Murray makes it through so they can sell those seats at a zillion quid each on Sunday (Oh BTW you do know that the tickets to the Race to Dubai final tournament thingy in November are available on-line and are free if you register early enough?)
sussexsaint Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 Whats the score by the way the BBc site keeps crashing on me?
SaintBobby Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 Whats the score by the way the BBc site keeps crashing on me? Federer wins 1st set on the tiebreak

Big Bad Bob Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 Whats the score by the way the BBc site keeps crashing on me? Fed's about to go a set up, 7-3 on the tie break!!
sussexsaint Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 Cheers - hope they can eek it out so I can watch the Murray match at home with a beer and hopefully some news on our new Swiss owners Speaking of which have they not left it too late to call the obligatory 2pm press conference?

thorpie the sinner Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 I don't get this! From what sky sports are saying, this is just another interested party in bidding for Saints! sky didn't announce the Swiss or Pinnacle originally did they, its like they have specifically been given this name!! We could be getting our old friends back!
dubai_phil Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 Murray loses first set so nothing new there then, and we get a leak about a new bidder Hmm which will get more exciting this afternoon/evening
saint_stevo Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 Here's hoping the swiss, who seem to be the only ones going about this properly, pull it off

DrunkenSaint Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 no no no no no no no no no and a million times no. Lowe, apparently, may have had some say behind MJ bid but that is about as close as it gets. No go to the Priory to get over your Lowe addiction, please, for my sanity and for yours lowe is or was in a group, heard from a very good source its everybodies favs the swiss, do i believe the person who told me this.... no BUT he told me that pinnacle pulled out the day they did way before it became public. Scary stuff tbh if he has anything to do with any group considering a takeover.
SFC Forever Posted 3 July, 2009 Posted 3 July, 2009 The laughs are beginning to be less vocal and more strained. Good to see that Wotte is still trying to put a team together for the day we do actually get a buyer who pays.
