Master Bates' link (post #3974) takes you to a Google archive of the BT page in question....

Yeah I saw that, I was hoping to find out what his bio page said, which isn't in the Google cache sadly.

I question the judgment of anyone who wants to be associated with that man, however much money they may (or may not) have.

Pretty incredible I know but jacko's reputation has possibly come out of this better than TL's.

Here it is, but again ambiguous as per date of the actual statement.

Michael Fialka explains why Pinnacle are no longer bidding for Southampton.

'Yesterday, myself and my Consortium publicly withdrew from being the front runners for our proposed takeover of Southampton Football Club.

‘We advised our advisers of this decision, and the basis of that decision, and they in turn made our stance known. Let me be clear that in publicly withdrawing our offer based on the conditions that I understood needing to be met, we did not, nor have lost our interest in the Club. Moreover, we felt that it was necessary to make this decision for the good of the Club, in the event that another interested party were better placed or willing to complete the takeover on the basis of the terms on offer. That decision has not changed.

‘However, I was very pleased to learn today that the Football League have made it known that, in the event of a takeover, no further sanctions will be issued to Southampton Football Club. With that in mind, we were advised by Pinnacle today to reconsider our position, and we are now looking at this. In the event of a successful completion, we remain of the opinion that we will have the support of the fans, which of course is crucial. It is deeply regrettable that matters have not yet been concluded, but as confirmed by the Administrators, this is a complex transaction, and if we do proceed, we need to be certain that everything has been looked at and the good of the Club is put first.

‘I hope today’s events result in a successful takeover now being possible - but if this does not happen, we hope that whoever buys the Club will be able to deliver what the fans deserve.’

Face saving bullsh1te.

They know another consortium will get us first, so they can come out and say we would have done the deal but got beat to the finishing line.

I thought the FL said their concerns were about where the funding was coming from? Nothing to do with Pinnacle pulling out due to further point deductions.

Nothing makes sense anymore!

No, FL did not stop the deal.

FL said they were happy and if Pinnacle paid the money it would have completed. They said there was a discussion around sporting sanctions.

Pinnaccle used this as the reason.

Interesting that an email addressed to Begbies as xx.xxxxx@ is bounced back but not one addressed to richard.fry

I would say it is common for IP's to be involved with other companies but surely not to be so strongly linked as it would seem that Mr Fry is

Got it!

Richard has joined Begbies from a High Street clearing bank where for the last seven years he has been actively engaged in turnaround case management - both at International multi-bank level and larger UK bi-lateral levels. His experiences and knowledge of banking matters are extremely broad - both UK and International: and includes a strong understanding of the world of financial derivatives and their potential impacts on turnarounds.

Well done - that chap looks more likely to be the Begbies man than the Barclays fella (IMHO obviously)

EDIT: I gave up looking about 30 minutes ago when an Epson C62 printer decided to spray it's cartridge over my desk and trousers*. Other than that everything is spiffing.

*No, not him, my actual trousers...

Anyone with better google skills able to find out if a Mr Richard Fry has recently joined Begbies?

Apparently it was on their web site because somebody emailed it to me, however when I google it it shows up on the partner page but there is then no mention of the article, so I am now either in receipt of an email showing games being played OR somebody has covered up and explosive piece of information

http://www.begbies-traynor.com/richard_fry/29

and the link to us...

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/untoldstories/4356000.Barclays____huge_profits_will_only_rile_Lowe___Co/

The name occurs just past half way

So the man who strangely pulled the plug on our overdraft and appointed Begbues Traynor then appears as a new partner on the BT web site and is then removed...

And interestingly the email does have an independent confirmation that the old phot was the same Mr R Fry. But as it no longer exists I can only post the links I can find

curiouser and curiouser

Phil

I managed to find this on my computer by searching the cache. This has the photo of Richard Fry on it. Is this what you are talking about?

And Lowe appointed Begbies Traynor as Administrators ......... so I expect Fry has been too busy updating Lowe to have any time over to seriously vet any genuine "bidder"

Can you confirm this is true (not saying not) and confirm how you know this please (i.e. SOURCE?) ?

It ties in with my very suspicious mind and investigative conclusions and theory about Pinnacle, Fry and the liquidation prospect...stranger things have happened at SFC and the businessmen we attract certainly don't fly straight!

If the Swiss have money on the table, and are prepared to close - bite their hand off! MLT or not, Pinnacle have had their time.

So.........in plain speak........the man who puled the plug on Saints, and put us into administration, has left Barclay's, and joined a firm of Administrators, who happens to be the firm who has been appointed to oversee the sale of our club. A firm, who it appears, has not done a very good job, of doing what they were employed to do.......have I got this right???

Now where are the police!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-1166881/Charles-Sale-England-stars-image-problem.html

Premier League sponsors Barclays, who pay nearly £70m for their title backing as well as huge, controversial bonuses to their top brass, showed no such apparent largesse when it came to their treatment of Southampton, whose holding company they have helped send into administration.

Supposedly football-friendly Barclays agreed to back the Championship club last June provided they operated within their £5m overdraft.

Yet in October the club were told by Barclays officials Richard Fry and Andrew Bagley that funding was being cut by £1m due to the bank’s own problems.

So when £6,000 worth of cheques bounced after Saints breached their reduced £4m overdraft, they had to call in the receivers.

And the chairman of WH Ireland, coincidentally the former chairman of SFC, now in administration, recommends the same administrators as a great investment tip...

In the meantime, any connection of this individual mysteriously disappears from the list of partners on their website.

So let me get this straight:-

Richard Fry, as our Barclays Bank manager, insisted we reduced our overdraft back in October.

Rupert resisted the temptation to raise any cash in January.

Cash crisis approaches towards the end of March. Rupert begins discussions with Begbies Traynor and seeks their advice(?). Begbies have been singled out by WH Ireland as a "company to watch".

We exceed our overdraft limit, cheques are bounced, presumably with R Fry's knowledge.

Rupert, having lost the support of the bank, then appoints BT as administrators.

Then we find out that R Fry has moved to BT, but not yet publicly announced?

A perplexing series of events, n'est-ce pas?

Anybody else agree that there is something here that isn't quite kosher ;) and that some journos might like to be informed of it in case they want to do some digging?

So do you think that it is worth pointing out to Charles Sale that this Richard Fry then turns up as a partner of the club's administrators?

Yes! Why not add a comment, or email Sale directly? (sorry, I can't bring myself to log-in to the DM...!).
