Radio 5 Live say press conference at 2pm

Really? I must have just missed it. All I heard was a bunch of economists and politicians arguing about the public sector deficit. Turned it off as clearly not as fun as F5 on here!

Edit: Of course I can do both with the bbc i-player.

George: All right, so, what do we do now?

Baldrick: Can I do my war poem?

Edmund: How hurt would you be if I gave the honest answer, which is "No, I'd

rather French-kiss a skunk"?

Baldrick: So would I, sir!

Edmund: All right. Fire away, Baldrick.

Baldrick: "Hear the words I sing / War's a horrid thing / So I sing sing

sing / ding-a-ling-a-ling."

George: (applauding) Oh, bravo, yes!

Edmund: Yes. Well, it started badly, it tailed off a little in the middle,

and the less said about the end, the better. But, apart than that,

excellent.

Baldrick: Oh, shall I do another one, then, sir?

Edmund: No -- we wouldn't want to exhaust you.

Baldrick: No, don't worry; I could go on all night.

Edmund: Not with a bayonet through your neck, you couldn't!

Baldrick: This one is called "The German Guns."

George: Oh, spiffing! Yes, let's hear that!

Baldrick: "Boom boom boom boom / Boom boom boom / BOOM BOOM, BOOM BOOM--

Edmund: "BOOM BOOM BOOM"?

Baldrick: How did you guess, sir?

George: I say, sir! That is spooky!

All checked in for my trip home and at the airport.

here's a snippet for those who don't rush to collect pitchforks.

ALLEGEDLY, IMHO

Some foreign money people decided that SFC Ltd was worth a certain figure in cash and would leave the balance to be paid back by the club as "deferrals" to add up to a total bid figure.

Unfortunately because somebody else had already offered a cash figure only that was some 35% higher than the guys wanted to risk on "a highly speculative gamble", somebody could not accept the bid even if in total money terms it was more than "those other people".

Sadly that extra cash killed the ROI which killed the deal.

Of course I don't know any of this as it is hard to access the internet while in a field watching The Prodigy, and of course where does one charge up their mobile when you are lucky to even see your feet for 2 days due to the mud.

For the rest - go sharpen the pitchforks and run around - you know it will help.

Meanwhile an airmiles upgrade to the upper deck on an Emirates A380 awaits. Bliss boarding time!

Fialka made no mention of any manager. The Chief Scouting Photocopier Salesman did though.

I agree. Wotte is clearly having a dig at the gloriously foolish MJ.

For someone who looks like they've been whacked in the face once too often by a frying pan, MJ should have known better.

I've never been a fan of Wotte, but to my mind he's one of the very few people whose reputation has been enhanced during the ridiculous chirades that have been played out in the last few weeks. (The ever-willing Leon and born optimist MLT being the other two. Leon in particular has clearly kept the club on life-support for at least two months).

Isn't it funny how it's the Saints stalwarts who are doing their damndest to save the club while the 'fresh-blood' takeover wheeler-dealers give us all the run around - at apparently no cost to themselves?

That would make sense, but lots of things on here "make sense" (the Pinnacle bid not being one of them). Do you have any evidence garnered from your muddy field? Is the ""a highly speculative gamble" quote from the horse's mouth? And are BT and Mark Fry up for any negotiation on this?

Does anyone else still think that this 'seems' like brinkmanship still? From Mr Fry's statement on the OS, I still think that there will be more developments - hopefully for the positive, but this is Southampton so I bet probably not. HA :( Maybe I'm just being too optimistic..... somehow this club, in past few years has drained lots of optimism out of me.... almost apathetic now....but trying hard not to be.

And to think I was planning on renewing my season-ticket this year... f*ckers.

Another disappointment relating to Saints....

Before I have a go at TL I ask myself how many people was taken in by whoever was behind this bid. MLT obviously was, Leon Crouch could possibly have been to the tune of a cool £1/2M, MF was convinced the money was there.

When Fialka was coming out of the woodwork it was clear that everything wasn't the way it should be, but surely he couldn't be behind it all even though he was supposed to be "a good talker". Didn't any of the people involved think of Googling him?

The Farmer has been absent from the forum since he acted as a conduit for TL a few days ago. I'd welcome him to come back on with some info from TL, for as long as we can get some parts of the truth. That everything was somebody else's fault is a bit like the playground, isn't it?

Since TL is now out of work again, I'm sure he can post an account of this fiasco. I especially would like to know how it was humanly possible to think that we all could be taken in by the letting agent from Barnet. Whose idea could it possibly be? If we knew we might be able to start unravel it all.

The Austrian's are coming?

Posted over at http://www.southampton-mad.co.uk, probably a load of bull?

Two of the three interested parties of the takeover of Southampton FC backed out today, one remains. A Austrian group, but who are they?

Southampton Football Club's future is hanging on by a thread and can only rely on a Austrian consortium after Matthew Le Tissier's Pinnacle Group withdrew their interest.

Former midfield ace Le Tissier, 40, confirmed that the Pinnacle deal could not be confirmed due to an agreement with the football league unable to be met. Le God also confirmed he was 'Frustrated and Hurt' at the decision taken by the Pinnacle consortium this morning.

All hope hangs on the shoulders of a Austrian consortium, thought to be none other than Red bull. The sports company are worth £8bil and have a string of successful sports teams and endorse very successful sports stars, such as Sebastian Vettel and Kevin Pietersen, however, the deal could agree that the clubs name can be changed, as all red bull owned sports teams have 'Red Bull' in their names, the proposed name is rumoured to be 'Southampton Red Bulls'. This may cause uproar in the City as it is against tradition and with all due respect, sounds very American. Mark Fry is expected to make a statement this evening; however there are rumours going around that Pinnacle stepped aside due to Le Tissier saying that the Austrian consortium can provide a better future for the Saints. According to Mark Fry there will be no more exclusivity, it's either a straight cash deal by Friday or the club will close. There is a Middle Eastern consortium said to be interested too but no-one knows who this could be.

Someone's got a little bit confused here me thinks.

I don't doubt that the southampton-mad.co.uk people are Southampton through and through. But I can see they are also clearly Mad.

Oh dear.

For a start, can you really trust anyone who writes: "....A Austrian consortium..."?

They're getting their Swiss and Austrians mixed up - bit like The Echo did.

Easily done, I suppose. They all come from countries which have lots of tall pointy things.
