Beer Engine Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Would Rembrandt have rated Rolf Harris? I didn't know that Rembrandt played the didgeredoo ...
andysstuff Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 not as confident as have been in the past about info, so not going into detail until speak direct - however understand that today went ok and people are more relaxed than have been. Apologise for being vague but a few on here know where my info comes from, I got brief voicemail which made me hope that may even be something announced tonight - I have left a message in return. Hate wink wink hints etc and assure this is not meant in that vain, just perhaps to counter some of the gloom - who was it who used to say they were going to enjoy a glass of wine on here?! I am going to enjoy a beer but will hold of celebrating just yet! Cheers for this, looks like a glass of something and keep pressing F5 for the next few hours! Fingers crossed.
Give it to Ron Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 I didn't know that Rembrandt played the didgeredoo ... He didn't ..it was the stylophone ;-)
Beer Engine Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 He didn't ..it was the stylophone ;-) Ah, of course - my bad ...
Mole Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 The thing is.......you're 'telling' us, but have nothing to substantiate what you are saying. If you have proof ....post it, just stop with the nudge nudge wink wink stuff. The time for cloak and dagger games are passed. You couldn't make it up.
Beer Engine Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 You couldn't make it up. Why not - everyone else does?
Amesbury Saint Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 I wonder what rupes is up to. it will not take him long to count the value of his shares!
teamsaint Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 if, somehow, Fry sells off enough assets to satisfy the creditors, is it not possible that the existing shareholders regain the company. Lets say he sells some players , Marchwood, and the academy house(?) to pay off Barclays and HMRC and does a sale/ leaseback on . Might that do it? Companies DO trade their way out of administration, I think.

There was no nudge nudge and full of substantiation in it. Perhaps you were still asleep FFS. 2nd edit - I don;t really do "nudge nudge" - if I did I would not have the police on my case. Red and White Army Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Duncan, My money is now firmly on Pinnacle not completing and fading away from wherever they came from, Jackson et all not being able to complete and the Swiss losing interest. Hope I'm wrong, I really do I've been re-assured that the Club will not die, but it's a rocky road ahead still on this rollercoaster that is Southampton Football Club. All IMHO of course. Regards Morph Given everything you have ever said has turned out to be complete rubbish, your post is good news.
saintpat Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 I'm afraid I now feel that Pinnacle have been holding on by complaining about the 10 points until someone else takes the club over and then they can go on about how unfair the FL were and that there was a conspiracy against them and make out they were the good guys who were badly treated. I fear Matt has been strung a set of lies which he is still hoping are really the truth. Pinnacle have been caught out because no other group of investors have actually put in a bid, so they are left totally exposed. I hope I'm wrong but the whole Pinnacle bid now looks like a total farce.

saintpat Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Given everything you have ever said has turned out to be complete rubbish, your post is good news. I think that actually all the ITK posts have been complete rubbish, some of them may have been spun a line or two but in general it's simply poor guesswork.
saint_stevo Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 it seems the penny is finally starting to drop Re- Pinnacle

I dont get this "saving face" arguement. pinnicle are a business, if a deal goes pear shaped a business pulls the plug and moves on. you dont keep going back spending time ( and hence money) if you think the deal is dead and buried!!!
aberdare Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 why? I dont get this "saving face" arguement. pinnicle are a business, if a deal goes pear shaped a business pulls the plug and moves on. you dont keep going back spending time ( and hence money) if you think the deal is dead and buried!!! Pinnacle are one/two man band local property dealer set up. If they have contributed significantly to the fees to date and it does not go through there would not be any moving on. Pinnacle would I think be in fairly serious poo. We are not talking about a conglomerate considering a deal with a corporate budget. I do wonder if the apparent lingering demise of their bid is not desperation borne out of the man who put his house on red and the ball appears to be about to drop into black, and who is trying to defer the inevitable.
shurlock Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Fear not, the great, mysterious Mr Salz will save us.... according to the great, mysterious salz, 'an announcement is imminent', at least, according to a mutual friend today. not sure what, who or whether he's equally in the dark as the rest of us and just restating the same horse**** we've all been fed but I like to think some people can see past cheap talk.
ART Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Just appeared online 10 minutes ago. It would appear for Pinnacle it's all over now baby blue. I don't think I can feel any worse after one considers all the years we've followed Saints only to be fobbed off by con men and our good players being sold off as a result. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1196353/Southampton-accept-Wolves-1-5m-bid-Surnam-McCarthy-targets-Monacos-Leko.html
Gemmel Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 There are lots of things that don't add up in all of this and no doubt it will come in time, but a couple of things that keep me optomistic. The whole 10 point issue and the problem with the license, gave Pinnacle a half credible exit if they wanted it. They didn't. The MLT interview today was upbeat and optomistic, if anything had changed he could start to play things down.

I'm not saying that won't happen, but from that article..... i must be missing something

Crispypie Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 did anybody REALLY think AS would stay to play league1 football?
Channon's Sideburns Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Well I don't blame Kelvin..and £1.5 is good money for Surman... I must say tho..well done Mr Lynham....where did Leon go then?

I think it's positive because that's £2.5 mil of players now sold. More than enough to cover wages. It looks more like new owners are "burying bad news" in a New Labour fashion in the knowledge that these sales will soon be put aside. It would make perfect sense to get rid of players that don't want to stay now rather than after a takeover when the sales would not be a good start for a new regime. Also the reported transfer fee's aren't rock bottom prices suggesting the club isn't over a barrel. And finally if the club was on the extreme brink surely Forest and Wolves would bide their time just a little longer and get the players on the cheap.
offix Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Which bit exactly in that article would appear that its all over for Pinnacle? I'm not saying that won't happen, but from that article..... i must be missing something Yup, there are way too much assumptions on this board. Best thing to do is to ignore the ITKs (and those who want to be ITK) and just see what REALLY happens.

Its just hard to see your club slowly dying in a darkened corner like a wounded animal, somebody please make a move and save this club.
Johnny Bognor Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 ..... because on Friday we will be the next Accrington Stanley. Who are they? (in my best scouse accent)
ericofarabia Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 The next terrible thought is, maybe it doesn't matter what I think because on Friday we will be the next Accrington Stanley. It is going to happen to somebody soon, so why not us? But who will play at St Mary's? Who are they? (in my best scouse accent) A little bit of humour to get us through what is doubtlessly going to be a brain frying, gut wrenching, finger numbing F5ing day If only our kids drank more milk and less lager last season we might not be in such a mess now :doubt:
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Last night BBC South were hinting (we understand ..etc) that the Pinnicle bid was more or less dead in the water .
thorpie the sinner Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Last night BBC South were hinting (we understand ..etc) that the Pinnicle bid was more or less dead in the water . did they not answer their phone in the end???
JustMike Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Last night BBC South were hinting (we understand ..etc) that the Pinnicle bid was more or less dead in the water . FFS!! another bad day then :-(
thorpie the sinner Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 FFS!! another bad day then :-( I think we are due a good day Mike, maybe today will be the day!!! FWIW I don't think it will be Pinnacle, too too may imponderables now for me!
Window Cleaner Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Last night BBC South were hinting (we understand ..etc) that the Pinnicle bid was more or less dead in the water . Why? did MLT not say Monday or Tuesday? I hope that's right because if not the diatribe from GM is going to make super reading.

CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Why? did MLT not say Monday or Tuesday? I hope that's right because if not the diatribe from GM is going to make super reading. Sorry it was very late and I don't remember the exact terminology used but the gist of it was that Pinnacle's negotiations with the FL had 'failed' and that Fry was now concentrating on two other bids .
Give it to Ron Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Big day today in more ways than one! WHY? If you know something please put it up - there are enough secret, nudge, nudge, wink, wink posts on here already.
David Strover Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 To be honest you don't have to know anything do you? If Pinnacle or The Swiss Cheese Company take over that is 'big news' and if no one does that is 'Big News' too....well for us, the rest of the world could give a!
Pilchards Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Big day today in more ways than one! A big day for the fact we learn of three more players leaving (don't blame them) and that Fry putting out a statement asking us to have the faith! What must it feel like for those training today? (Gillet to Patersen) 'Don't pass it back as we don't have a goalie, pump it up front mate,' (Patterson replies) 'But we don't have anyone up there either cause Surman, Bwp and Mgoldrick have ****ed off'
OldNick Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 we IMO are selling those players to make Salts bid more paletable to the creditors. We have now got to the last minute where the offers are coming in well below what the creditors wish for.We will still have a club but it will only be a shell. I hope Im wrong though.
