The strain of it all seemed to be showing in Matts face when he spoke on SSN at about 6.15pm. I really feel sorry for him as he obviously believed Pinnacle could pull it off, publically he still says they can do it, but privately I wonder what he's really thinking. He wasn't to know that it would drag on like this. The guy genuinely wants to help save the club he loves. No TRUE Saints fan should place any blame at his door if the Pinnacle bid does go tits up. I really hope for Matts sake that they can do it, but my gut feeling is that if saints are to be saved it will be by another group.

It's still monday, i could understand your moaning if this was tuesday evening, just wait.

 

We've been waiting for weeks.

 

the problem we all have is that it's been 48 ****ing hours away for almost 3 weeks. We simply do not have any more time, if it's not done this week then the club is dead - no more.

 

Heck - they can still prove me wrong, but it's looking less and less likely as the hours tick on - let's hope one of the other parties come in.

They've run out of things to say.

 

If they were almost close to completing (which they now need to be) then you'd expect them to be communicating with the local media.

 

...they're not because there's nothing more they can say, other than their best line ''we're still in detailed discussions with the FL'' - woffle imo.

I know what you are saying, but, we do not know all the facts apart from what is put up on this forum and the odd interview where cards are kept close to the chest.

 

Lets hope MLT can do another Arsenal and pull won out of the bag!

I was not expecting the deal to be signed today but we have still not had any feedback from the FL meeting.

 

 

But if a respected fan like Duncan is suffering aggro I dont know whether it is worth continuing as I cannot see the club being successful in the future .

 

 

What have SFC got at the moment which other clubs have not

we are supposed to be playing eastleigh in our annual match on Saturday. this game cannot go ahead, like any other game unless we have a license.

 

there is no excuse for the length of time this is taking, a deadline has to be set where pinnacles involvement needs to be removed from the equation, and that time needs to be very soon, very very soon!

Not sure what to say about the news on South Today just now ....but if i were a betting man it looks like Pinnacle could well be a dead duck!

 

I've been for giving them every chance but i now am really losing hope they will save us.

 

South Today reports they have tried contacted Pinnacle all day and received no reply...apparently first time Pinnacle have refused to answer!!!

 

Fry now in serious talks with 2 other parties :(

 

OK now for some blind optimism but...that could be the best news we've had in a while.

 

MLT is being the spokesman and Tony Lynam is not commenting to the media and neither he nor The Farmer are posting on here (so far).

 

So that is either the model way to conduct the bid or Pinnacle has not paid its phone bill and has done one.

But FF said he is not 100% sure so that means he is no more ITK than others on here although he tends to be more accurate with the truth. I will wait until someone officially says they have either bought the club or we are being wound up (which I doubt very much will happen).

No just under whelmed unfortunately it has just finally registered with me Div 3 - 10 points no outstanding players and a possible new regime which hopes we will succeed.

My throat hurts, I'm tired, my boots are clean(ish) but my trainers are muddy as fook. It feels like forever ago since I last came on here and whilst I would say nothing has happened since I left home for glasto last week, in actual fact things seem worse now........ never a dull moment with saints is it, at least for another week until it may all be over.

MLT's words were deal will be done on "Monday or Tuesday at the very latest". The sands of time and all that.

 

The thing is.......you're 'telling' us, but have nothing to substantiate what you are saying. If you have proof ....post it, just stop with the nudge nudge wink wink stuff.

Someone said earlier about no deal going through because the banks are closed ?? Is this strictly true ??

 

Look at the Man City takeover hours before the transfer deadline, it came completely out of left field, i know it was more straightforward but does it really need to be within the boundries of the vaults closing ??

Of course not. The banks may be closed in England, but they are still open in Bermuda, San Francisco and Honolulu and will be opening soon in Auckland and Sydney. You don't need a little high street branch to complete a transaction. That said, there is no need to complete until tomorrow so I don't expect it will happen tonight.

I have a feeling that at least one of the 'bids' probably has to involve robbing a bank to get the necessary funds, so perhaps it's a valid statement after all.

Do you remember when we thought that the old lot were soooo rubbish because they couldn't get investment in. We so love the old club so that we think it is valuable, but the truth start to sink in now.

 

Next piece of reality is looking at that club down the road, £60M down the Swanee, and some, and middling in the Premiership. I have started to think that it isn't possible anymore to survive there. Harry left when the writing was on the wall. Maybe it would be more fun to see Saints win a few games rather than fighting relegation and bankruptcy every year.

 

The Premiership is unsustainable, and the crash is coming soon, so why do we really want to be part of it?

 

The next terrible thought is, maybe it doesn't matter what I think because on Friday we will be the next Accrington Stanley. It is going to happen to somebody soon, so why not us? But who will play at St Mary's?

not sure what the in jokes are but the news we do get points to the fact that money is an issue for Pinnacle.

if that was not the case the deal could have been done today surely and why do we have to sale to stay a float, surely MLT could have convinced DMG to stay with his describing the brave new world.

unless of course MLT does not rate DMG

not as confident as have been in the past about info, so not going into detail until speak direct - however understand that today went ok and people are more relaxed than have been.

Apologise for being vague but a few on here know where my info comes from, I got brief voicemail which made me hope that may even be something announced tonight - I have left a message in return.

Hate wink wink hints etc and assure this is not meant in that vain, just perhaps to counter some of the gloom - who was it who used to say they were going to enjoy a glass of wine on here?!

I am going to enjoy a beer but will hold of celebrating just yet!
