I would say Yes to your last question

Unfortuneately that would be the logical conclusion. With the deal due to be completed supposedly within hours, unless this has been agreed with Pinnacle, it seems totally bizarre.

It potentially buys the swiss some time, but if Pinnacle did not agree this, then they are not going to pay the same amount as they were before, so at best, it's back round the negociation table again.

From the press reports and MLT's interview today, i was feeling quite optomistic.......... until this news

I'm interested to understand how the offer price for the club is calculated and potentially re-calculated following these "asset" sales.

Could it be that the price for the club (including player's registrations) will now be reduced?

Or was the reported £14M always going to be for the club less DMG and AS?

Seems to me that your question is looking increasingly hypothetical.

Then why the **** do it? Christ this P*****s me off , the only people who are going to be 'duped' by this are the people who care about this club and have sat F5ing for the last month.

You dont have to press f5 for a month to care. You just need a bit of a life outside the club ;)

If it is in Mighty Mac contract relegation and set fee...Out of the hands of prospective buyers and therefore Fry and or Directors agree to transfer at set fee in his lucrative contract he signed with Rupes and Agents. Prospective buyers might not want him but then again are powerless because of said contract..

But why would Forest spend a whole bunch of money when at the end of the week we go bust.

That is the question that I have come up with as well. it doesn't make sense, unless you make the assumption that DMG was going anyway (and given his desire to move to Nottingham for family reasons then its not unreasonable).

Perhaps Pinnacle (and I'm not ITK) have factored this anyway, perhaps there was more to TL's visit to Staplewood last week? Who knows - no one on here anyway. So let's just wait & see what happens.

Edit - If Surman goes that is a whole different question - but lets not go there just yet

I had a dream last night that MJ brought the club......

in 2003 just before the FA Cup Semi i dreamt that Ormerod scored.....

Make of that as you will :(

That 50% of your dreams are realistic fantasies and that 50% are surreal nightmares?

Lots of wild theories on here about why 2 players are leaving a League 1 side to join clubs in the Championship and Premiership.

It's not f*cking rocket science is it.

FFS

NO......but the timing is a bit odd, do you not think????

What, at the start of pre-season training. Not really.

Pedant.

Hours before a supposed deal to turn the fortunes fo this club around is being announced, we sell 1 if not 2 players for circa £2M.

But in a way, you're right. It IS the start of pre-season... ours.

DMG wants to go, so he can go - fine. But could he not have waited another 24 hours until the deal was done with new owners? Or is it because WE could not AFFORD to wait another 24 hours?

When Piunnacle buy us today or tomorrow the sale will be forgotten. On the other hand if Pinnacle bought us and then he was sold it'd be a story.

We are a L1 club with a 10 point deduction thanks to the previous regime. Face facts - our better players don't want to play for us anymore.

Also if the club was going bust with no buyer then surely Forest would've waited and got him for less. The price was apparently a "fair" price.

What, at the start of pre-season training. Not really.

Hours before a supposed takeover and the club sell two of their main assets?

The timing is bizarre, Unless this has been agreed with Pinnacle, but would they really want to sell two of their better players? Is the club worth as much without these two players - obviously not.

May be i'm reading to much into it, but strikes me as very odd, unless the Swiss need more time and the money bought in buys them that

Perhaps the Pinnacle deal is actually dead and administrator is buying time for other bidders?

My point is that these two players would be on their way to play at a higher standard whoever is in charge.

Putting my 'conspiracy' head on, if the first thing Pinnacle did was to sell two of their most saleable assets after buying the club it wouldn't exactly be hitting the ground running and getting fans onside would it.

Slightly different spin, same mindless b*llocks.

I was under the impression that DmG had wanted to move back to the Midlands for some time now for personal reasons. I guess it doesn't help that we're a league one side either!

I agree about the price Mole, a lot of cash for a club about to go into liquidation.

It's a fair comment. If these players were intent on leaving (can't really blame them), it's better PR for them to leave before you take over, rather than it happening afterwards.

I genuinely feel that Pinnacle made the decision to sanction the sale now because the last thing they need on day 1 is a story about players being sold.

I heard DMG said he did not want to play in L1 anyway(thought he was too good), as well as wanting to go back to Nottingham.

Good player or NOT,he obviously wanted to go. And as our old Dictator Lowe used to say, "i will not keep a player here, who does not want to play for us". Good bye, and good riddance to DMG!! ;)

Perhaps this is the contingency plan that TL was on about.

Not sure how that would work but, perhaps pinnacle have an agreement with MF on the sale of players that want to go and if the deal needs a bit more time and staff need paying.

Other than that, I don't feckin know.

And I heard this morning that Surman is now definately going to Wolves and Fry has said "so the wages can be paid" so that sounds like he has little faith in Mr Lynham.

Goes with what I heard a couple of hours ago RE Surman having a medical up there.

My first thought was, why are rich owners selling players? - but it isn't the prospective buyers' decision.

It is about players who think they are too good to play at the level that they took the club to, so imo they can move on and we can have a clean sweep in a dressing room that couldn't deliver when we needed it most.

They both played full and inactive roles in the worst Saints team of all time, I wish them well but I have got over the departures.

Change is good.

i think that everyone has been paid by pinncale. if you go on the daily echo website then there is a video of lynam leaving staplewood saying that everyone has been paid and that completion is the next step.

Where in it does he say that everyone has been paid? Unless you've found a new video that i haven't seen, he doesn't once say that anybody has been paid in the video from last week.
