Takeover Latest Gossip

I start to feel like a rather sad person logging on in the ridicolous hope that I will find some news here which will make me believe again. So I went back to page 57 to see what had happened and found a string ot posts declaring with euphoria that the deal was done, humbe pie had to be eaten, and whatnot. So I'm desperately looking for the foundation for this and it seems to be MLT finally realising that FL won't budge on the 10 points!

I seem to think that throughtout the week I have said that that the FL won't budge. MLT has now seen the light?

Maybe we're all too desperate for our own good.

The Fialka business is still strange. The family is wealthy, say Fry, when dad drives a taxi and mum sells underwear from a pink shop in ****fosters, and when the Echo would like to have a little bit of substantiation for the wealth MF got miffed that he wasn't believed and threatened to scupper the deal! Please!!!!!!

Even if the bloke is fronting the deal for his fantastically wealthy friends (hundreds of millions said TL) how come these immensely rich people chose MF as their frontman? They can Google as well, can't they?

There is a myth spreading that "real" rich businessment are amazingly secretive and manage to keep their names out of every deal they are making. In the maffia, maybe, but not in the real world. And masquerading as a letting agent living at home to cover up the immense wealth? With due respect, that is poppy****. Rich people are known, even if they don't give interviews.

I'd love to believe, I really, really do, but why does the scenario seem so unbelievable?

what happened to FF thread this morning about texts????

As I asked earlier in this thread. Has it been pulled because the names were relevant? If so, I hav no problem with it. Or was it theft of an email? Or just poor speling? or libelous?

Hope this is all true and Pinnacle complete the deal on Monday (see no reason why it should be prolonged any further), but I am still sceptical and maybe this is just another false dawn. I hope the Swiss press on.....just in case

Can someone please explain the money man, has anyone found out yet if hes worth anything, as i live in North London i saw the jewish chronicle article and i am so sceptical about him and whether he has any cash?!?! I havent been online since yesterday sometime so not sure if there have been any developments?

The most important thing is to get us out of administration first. If Fry is satisfied he has enough money to buy the club then that will do for now. Perhaps he is confident he can turn Saints fortunes around just enough to sell to someone who has more dosh, and he makes a profit. We all win.

He is a football man, and sounds like he has the personality to bring it off. I am happy with any small morsels that see us survive. For now.

No evidence whatsoever, that is why I put MAY. If his finances are as has been reported theremust be other money surely?

The Jewish Chronicle did ask this question. I don't care so long as we beat Friday's final deadline.

You seriously think the Pinnacle deal will happen? After all we know now? You still WANT the Pinnacle deal to happen, after all we know now?

Jesus wept.

I'm praying for the Swiss to come through now. Just for a moment if we pretend that they could somehow get 14m together over the weekend, can you imagine how this clown would carry out transfer negotiations?

Jesus wept. I despair.

In my heart of little black hearts I know that you are right.

I am trying to be positive about Pinnacle on the basis that any takeover is better than none - but you have to question the wisdom of putting the whole club at risk and not paying the staff for the apparent sake of pursuing an unwinnable argument that is about to be conceded.

But like you say, I'd rather the devil I don't know too - bring on the cuckoos!

Dunno about anyone else, but, while I'm happy that Pinnacle have decided to concede on the -10 points and go ahead, I can't help but wonder what the Swiss deal would be worth to the club. What's their plan? Who would be chairman, manager, etc? How much would they invest in the team?

To be fair, the only thing we know about Pinnacle is that Matt will be chairman.

I may be wrong, I'm not ITK and this is pure speculation but ...

... I've got a feeling that Pinnacle's amazing climb down on the appeal issue might be due to the fact that they have realised that they've overplayed their hand and there is now real competetion for the club in the form of the Cuckoo Clock Consortium.

I certainly don't think Pinnacle should have a free run next week if someone else is serious and has the money.

Let battle commence!

I Am Beginning To Agree With You Here Webby Mate And That I Have Come To The Conclusion That It Is Good News That Pinnacle Have Agreed To Take The -10 Points And To Get A Move On In Buying This Club As We All Want Matt To Take Our Club Forward In Some Way Which We All Hope Will Happen :D :p ;)!

A couple of significant bits from Matt's interview on the BBC site:

"Michael Fialka is a part of the group. A lot of time, effort and money has been committed and it would be silly for us not to see it through."

"I've spoken to the [group] owner this morning and he's confirmed that once the Football League issues have been dealt with, it will only be a matter of hours after that that we can complete a deal."

So confirmed that Fialka is only part of a group and strong implication that he is not the leader of the group.

To my mind that restores a lot of the Pinnacle Credibilty that was lost when Fialka came forwards.

If the news is to be believed that Pinnacle will sign the deal on monday or tuesday

Dose that mean the staff at the club have now been paid or will they have to wait a few more days before all the legall transactions to be completed etc etc.

PS did they ever find the Missing cat?

So (MLT) confirmed that Fialka is only part of a group and strong implication that he is not the leader of the group.

MLT told us the exact opposite of that on Friday did he not  - I don't think Matt knows very much about the finances behind this bid in all honesty so I'd take his pronouncements on the money matters (genuinely intended I'm sure) with a pinch of salt .

It would inspire more confidence if the Pinnacle Bid came up with a consistent story and stuck to it .

It begs the question as to why they wheeled him out to face the media, without fully explaining the situation regarding the involvement of others.

Until a satisfactory answer is given,or full details known,it does nothing to restore confidence.Completely the opposite.

I really don't know what to think anymore. A lot of things with the Pinnacle bid don't add up, but for me, they are still my preferred option. That said, I think it's only due to the involvement of MLT, so it's probably a case of my heart ruling my head.

Bottom line is that if someone doesn't buy us next week we're screwed, so let's hope that one of the interested parties comes through for us.

Is this the longest thread ever?

If not, but we keep asking ourselves if it is, will it become one?

Might it make it to 100 pages?

I asked that back on page 20 something but no one replied. If we keep asking it, you're right, we might make it the longest..

Hmm I read MLT's comments as referring to Tony Lynam as the group Owner.

You think MLT meant head money man and someone other that Michael Fialka?

No, I'm not so sure he is wrong.

I think Mark Fry might be proving why he earns very good money.

We can all scream on here for Pinnacle to point the python or exit the urinal, but when Fry does so, he might succeed....
