Nexstar Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 "This deals looks about to be done" - Gary Cotterill
obelisk Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Put that pen to paper and hand over the money. Then perhaps we can look forward to the coming season.
saint lard Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 good news at last Well, that depends on your stance reference the credibility of Pinnacle, and that they are the best possible deal in both the short term and long term. I am yet to be convinced, but atleast we may still have a club.
Delmary Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 "This deals looks about to be done" - Gary CotterillBut where is the money coming from?
Master Bates Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 How do we feel about this, champagne time yet?
yarb101 Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Well, that depends on your stance reference the credibility of Pinnacle, and that they are the best possible deal in both the short term and long term.. As I said before, What the hell has the Jackson lot come up other than statements. We don't even know who the Swiss group are. Based on this I am more concerned about these two than Pinnacle
SaintRichmond Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 But where is the money coming from? The Royal Mint ....
Nexstar Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 I think, finally, this will be it! Pinnacle must have money somewhere, considering they've spent on a million already.
chrismsaint Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 BREAKING NEWS - Sky Sports .... Deal now on Pinnacle will accept -10 points
Saint Billy Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 How do we feel about this, champagne time yet? I'm putting the pomagne in the freezer just in case!

Bailey Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 A lot of humble pie is on the menu for Monday/Tuesday should this go through. I've expressed my concern over this Pinnacle bid after this week's events but I'd love to be proved wrong and for this to go through. Here's hoping.
OttawaSaint Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 BREAKING NEWS - Sky Sports .... Deal now on Pinnacle will accept -10 points I think I just came..
doggface Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Great news at last - I heard things were at a very sensitive stage ; ) this morning, however they were ready to drop the 10 point appeal, there are a couple of small issues to resolve with the league & hopefully they can sort it by the end of Monday. One request - tony, I know this is a learning curve for all but be clear from the outset, if you appear to contradict yourself & things do not appear to stack up you only have yourselves to blame for any negative publicity. Please be clear or keep your council. We all want to believe in you but we need clarity not confusion.
InvictaSaint Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Weirdly, for the first time in months, my 4 year old son decided - voluntarily - to wear his yellow Saints kit today. He obviously knew something was about to happen...

Beer Engine Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 I have slagged Pinnacle off for nearly a week now but I, too, would love to be proved wrong. If they swallow the 10 points and complete the deal, I will be absolutely delighted. Once I have finished eating my own b011ocks, I will buy 4 season tickets and give these guys unstinting support.
saint77 Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Two portions of humbie pie please. Fingers crossed:) dont forget we need to leave a huge portion of the pie for the missile
Master Bates Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 http://thejc.com/articles/jewish-property-man-fronts-bid-buy-southampton-fc Why is it, that when there's good news, someone has to drag up a negative past that we've already discussed.
eelpie Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 http://thejc.com/articles/jewish-property-man-fronts-bid-buy-southampton-fc So after all the speculation on our new name - it's to be Southampton Lions!
Saint Billy Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 I was thinking of having a cyber libation in pre celebration of the buyout happening and for me returning back to live in the UK after 6 years away. When I left the UK we were in the prem but hey ho. I know its premature but would anyone want to join me.

Actually, on second thoughts, if everyone sends me £10 by Paypal, I'll go to the bar and get 'em in. I'm a bit short this week but i'll see you right at the end of the month, OK? Saint Billy Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 I've got one to my lips as we speak. Your health Sir!

Matthew Le God Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Key wording of Matt's statement has been missed by everyone here. Appeal still may happen but will not appeal if it means deal the deal can't go through otherwise.
Wurzel Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 MLT just on Solent confirming that the 10 points won't stop the deal going through. Also mentioned the buyers , in his words "of which Michael Fialka is a part"
buctootim Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 MLT just on Solent confirming that the 10 points won't stop the deal going through. Also mentioned the buyers , in his words "of which Michael Fialka is a part" I heard the interview and it did nothing to reassure me unfortunately.
Brian Griffin Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Key wording of Matt's statement has been missed by everyone here. Appeal still may happen but will not appeal if it means deal the deal can't go through otherwise. Doesn't make sense!
Saint Billy Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 What about "Deal finalised monday or tuesday"? as mentioned earlier!

It didn't really sound much different to what TL has been posting on here did it. I'm just hoping he has seen proof of the latest situation before speaking
Master Bates Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Sorry if its been discussed before, i havent been reading this forum in great detail over the last week. I do apologise sir.
Faz Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 (edited) I do apologise sir. This has to go through for two reasons: 1. We need to get our Season underway now, and 2. I'm interested to see how unGuided Missile, and the Echo respond. Edited 27 June, 2009 by Faz Fat Finbger Syndromne
sussexsaint Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Has there been any mention of management or KK today at all?
buctootim Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 It didn't really sound much different to what TL has been posting on here did it. I'm just hoping he has seen proof of the latest situation before speaking Unfortunately Matt didnt seem to have asked the difficult questions of Fialka and his mystery backers - he stated it was rude to ask people how much they're worth. Yes Matt it is rude to ask on the golf course - but when you are being asked to front a £15m bid and lend your personal credibility, its foolhardy not to.
Beer Engine Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 According the SSN website this is what MLT said in the interview:- "We're very confident that the issues with the Football League can be resolved on Monday, even if it means conceding on the right of appeal to the ten-point penalty. That does not sound like a done deal to me. It sounds like MLT laying the ground for a compromise deal whereby Pinnacle agree not to appeal against the 10 point deduction in return for the FL agreeing not to impose further sanctions in any event. That would be a result for us and good luck to Pinnacle but it is difficult to see how the FL could agree to this. Anyone know otherwise?
maxi_sopez Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Can someone please explain the money man, has anyone found out yet if hes worth anything, as i live in North London i saw the jewish chronicle article and i am so sceptical about him and whether he has any cash?!?! I havent been online since yesterday sometime so not sure if there have been any developments?

Anyone know otherwise?to be fair MLT cannot say it is definite as the fL might move the goalposts. I would expect MLT would not do anything to intentionally to mislead us and we should on this occasion giive him the respect he deserves and take him on what he said.

Sorry I disagree, this gives the FL the chance to save face (but letting everyone else know we have been punished and nobody else is to step out of line) and Pinacle to ensure that we do not start on a -25 points, -10 is surmountable but -25 isn't. Pinacle can save face by saying we tried to fight the -10 and when we took the -10 it was that or nothing and alot of fans here could not complain about them taking the -10 because they have been begging for Pinacle to take it and complete the deal.
stevegrant Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 It sounds like MLT laying the ground for a compromise deal whereby Pinnacle agree not to appeal against the 10 point deduction in return for the FL agreeing not to impose further sanctions in any event. If we can get agreement from the Football League on that basis I would consider it a resounding success on our part.
Gingeletiss Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 If we can get agreement from the Football League on that basis I would consider it a resounding success on our part. Or on the part of a very abused Pinnacle!!!!!!!!!!
maxi_sopez Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 He may only be the front for a bigger money man. any evidence of this?
OldNick Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 any evidence of this? No evidence whatsoever, that is why I put MAY. If his finances are as has been reported theremust be other money surely?
mcjwills Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 I reckon he a front for Sralan and that Bird from the apprentice is gonna be running the business side of the club
