The one thing this whole takeover bid has proved is we will never ever have a united fan base and we don't deserve SFC to live on.

The longer this goes on the more and more i wish SFC were just wound up and that was the end to it

Ridiculous post. ASW?

Hardly, check reactions after Pinnacle got exclusivity at the end of May, even though the issue had already been dragging and we barely managed to muster together player wages. We were bloody ecstatic and could not have been more united. Is it unreasonable that a month later, with the exclusivity period now over and time running out, pointed questions should be asked out of concern to save the club?

Ridiculous post. ASW?

Ridiculous is it?? Have you been reading some of the trash on here tonight and over the last few days??

Do you think we have a united fan base...do you???

All we do is constantly try to abuse fellow posters or those trying to save the club.....and you think we deserve a club to support when some of its fan base act like mindless thugs that had their dummies taken away from them!!

Hey, we're just people. Take any club, anywhere in the land, and put them in this position and I guarantee this very same thing would be happening with them too.

Opinions differ. Personalities clash.

Yes i have been on the forum lots recently and posted my points of view without censor.

Does anyone have a united fanbase? No.

The club is bigger than this forum or the people (not all fans neccesarily) that post on it. Of course we deserve a club to support, and Southampton as a town deserves a club. Nothing will change this

To be honest, I think that if any other club in the country was going through the same, you'd be getting similarly large differences of opinion on a highly emotive scale.

Ultimately, everybody on here cares about OUR club. It is not and never will be Michael Fialka's club.

Yes I have been drinking but Guided Missile is on absolutely top form tonight.

I particularly like the stuff about the fans fawning over the potless Irishman, the equally potless London mate, the total nutjob and the arse ache ...

I agree with you 100% GM

I agree with Barcelona here! I don´t think that some of the people on here deserve to follow any club. Some of the behaviour of certain posters on here is disgusting and I would be ashamed to be associated them.

Take a deep breath and stay calm because nobody deserves some of this abuse, whether they take on the club or not. Lets not forget that business deals fall through all the time and maybe GM, you have had deals fall through before, but not in the public arena!!

The problem is, Block Head, you're confusing me with someone that give a sh !t about your whiney arsed, liberal, mealey mouthed, ill informed, humourless, beard stroking, pipe smoking, slipper wearing opinion...

Uncle John, you really are letting the side down.:axe:..Whats wrong ..I've always looked up to you and respected you since I was a little boy.:smt060..but lately you appear to have bitter old man syndrome ( what has Rupert done to you:smt093)..You are better than this and you have so much to give this forum and your fellow fans and us top posters.;)..What has got to you? Some of your work is really good and then you spoil it with vitriolic tirade towards your friendly posters.:). If you are right about the prospective purchasers we will soon find out and then you can puff your chest out and take all the plaudits....Surely you want us to survive?

There ain't anyone else out there .....is there? PLEASE not RUPERT...Let him

go:grin:

Ps I am sure Stanley likes you really:smt060

Lets admit the fact, SFC no longer exists, spend your money on something else, season ticket holder for 20+ years, would rather give to charity the money i was holding back for season ticket. there is more to life than football, i hope!!

I dont understand why people think pinnacle need an excuse to pull out, do you seriously think they would waste more time (which is money to these guys) if they didnt think they could do the deal?[/quote

Trying to justify all the hype they brought with them and realisation they have been duped and trying to save face?[/quote]

Yeh right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gingelettiss - you either know more than you are letting on or you have a blind faith. I don't know anything and I lack your blind faith

Even if it makes you look like a loser?

unfortunately, yes.

And I'm not saying anti-irish, anti-'londoner' or racists remarks should be tollerated, not at all.

I just think there is point, after banging your head against a brick wall for so hard and so long, that the blood gets in your eyes and that's when the red mist decends.

I s'pose I (think I) get where GM is coming from at lot of the time, plus I enjoy his more creative invective.

Story from Saturday's Times Online-

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/article6587064.ece

Basically nothing that we didnt already know but found this para revealing:

"...Tony Lynam, the Pinnacle bid leader, had suggested that a single backer was funding the deal and named Michael Fialka, a North London businessman, on Thursday. Doubts were expressed about Fialka's access to sufficient funds yesterday, which Fry dismissed as based on “cursory” investigations, but Lynam still changed his story, saying that Fialka “has prominent people supporting his efforts” and “important connections in his [North London Jewish] community”..."

Hmm. Well, perhaps they weren't given the same brief as the BBC, but the Times article hardly "put the actual true position across" as promised by Mr Lynam, does it now?

sorry I being a grumpy sod tonight, in all honesty, I'd love a proper Jewish connection at Saints. I could get a special red and white Yarmulke ;-)

As posted on another thread:

Pinnacle really confuss me and I am rapidly thinking they're full of bull. Just buy the club you aren't going to overturn the points so just put up or bugger off instead of it will be wrapped up in a day or possibly a few hours. YOU ARE MAKING A LEGEND (MLT) LOOK A MUG UNLESS YOU COMPLETE IT.

They are using people from day one to win support (Mike Wilde did this!!!), sorry Matt & Leon I really think you are being used as pawns, if I am wrong sorry (please I really hope I am!) just compete the deal!!!!!!!!!!

We deserve the 10 point as every club does we have gained an advantage by having our debts written off can't you see that!!!!!!!! Just please put us out of the misary!!!!

I think my own pessimism and grumpiness are essentially due to Fialka being - on the face of it - such an utterly implausible owner of the club. I suppose it's possible that he can acess the several hundred million that Pinnacle have promsied, but it just doesn't seem very likely.

My scepticism was enhanced enormously by Lynam apparently believing that by unveiling Fialka on national television, Pinnacle was somehow playing a trump card. If it had been Richard Branson, Gavin Davies, David Frost, then - okay - I can see how this might seize the initiative. But Fialka? For the love of God.... With all due respect to the bloke, if he's the ace up your sleeve, you do wonder what sort of deck Pinnacle are playing with.

The various legal issues are increasingly beyond me. But, in the seven days since the exclusivity period ended, it's not at all clear that any progress AT ALL has been made by Pinnacle to conclude the deal - or that any legal action against the League has been taken. Now, perhaps there has been sensational progress behind closed doors - but if so, this isn't been communicated in any fashion at all. (e.g. "we have now resolved two of the issues, and are close to agreement on the third").

Finally, a series of crucial deadlines are now passing and approaching, which greatly damage the club's prospects - even if it is not liquidated in seven days' time. A responsile and serious buyer would be offsetting this damage against any apparent obstacles to the deal. But, payroll wasn't met today and several player contracts lapse on Tuesday.

I think the anger of a lot of people on here is not so much that the Pinnacle bid looks like it will now fail, but that it looks like the muppet show (even if it succeeds).

I've had enough of this club and its fans, to be honest. It's like seeing your wife getting raped. Meanwhile, internet Saints "fans" fawn over a potless Irishman and his equally potless London mate, while they fiddle with her bra.

This dustbin lid is obviously a total nutjob, yet him and Frank Carson are given the time of day by supposed professionals. If neither of them have any money, what the f*** do they bring?

Arse ache, that's all....

The known way of dealing with stress is to focus your actions on what you can affect by them. Things that cannot be changed by your actions are therefore a waste of your time and energies, leading to stress. Simply walk away if you feel that stressed.

Although that's easier said than done because Saints are a morbid obsession!

Yes I think I can agree with what you are saying .

I am surprised that we are still in business as I originally thought the Pinnacle bid would fail as there did not seem that there was a rich guy with hundreds of millions of pounds around.

If there was why get TL with little or no experience involved in the first place and secondly if he was that wealthy he would surely have bought the club quickly.

Getting MLT to be chairman again seems strange to me but hope I am wrong

Michael Fialka has threatened to walk

Do you know why? Is it

a) Upset that the Fl won't back down

b) Upset with Saints fans reactions to his unveiling

c) Its my ball & I'm going to play with it

d) He doesn't have & never had the money

e) All of the above

I see where you are coming from........but in reality, it is just a few regular posters, who love to see their opinions on this screen, opinions they know will cause a reaction. The others are all yoof, and have to share a brain cell between them.......so some sympathy there BS. Stay cool my friend, it will all come out in the wash.
