brightspark Posted 26 June, 2009 Share Posted 26 June, 2009 Why is everyone saying we will start with -25, when we know we will start with -10? I'm not sure everyone understands the situation. With so much uncertainty and panic, confusion is to be expected. But yes, I agree that it's unlikely we will leave -10. The league would be causing deeper trouble to their reputation if they gave us more points off, or if we are somehow able to get the points given back to us. Tony Lynam Posted 26 June, 2009 Share Posted 26 June, 2009 Good morning everyone Today is going to be a decisive day in the future of the Club in my opinion. Much work is going on as we speak to resolve the legal issues which caused the delay with our takeover. At the same time, work is also being done to put in place a contingency arrangement so that, with the permission of the new owner, funds can be released to pay staffs wages. Whilst the legal issue is more critical, on a more personal note the wages are at the forefront of my mind. I am aware of some very unhelpful rumours and questions about Mr Fialka and his colleagues - he choose to speak out yesterday to add not just substance, but weight to our position, with particular focus on the League issue. That continues to be worked on this morning. Quite where and why these rumours have originated is anyones guess, and I would have to seriously question anyones motives for trying to discredit the guy who approached us to try and save the Club. Needless to say, there is no foundation in any such rumours, as will be demonstrated when this deal is completed. But to speculate that our new owner in waiting lives with his parents is nothing short of ridiculous (not that living with your parents is of course ridiculous). Anyway, from the start of this, I pledged to you all one thing. Unity. And that is what is needed to overcome the obstacles in our way. I will not lower our standards and have a war of words with anyone, least of all a newspaper. That is what freedom of speech is all about - but I have reminded that newspaper this morning that they should do research of their own rather than rely upon others feeding them information before the print inaccurate stories. Clearly we are aware of other groups apparent interest so we are concentrating on the important job of resolving the issues in hand. All the best for now, and keep the faith, its time to complete the deal. Regards Tony
SaintRichmond Posted 26 June, 2009 Share Posted 26 June, 2009 I hate to say this but TL's statements have been full of inconsistencies all week culminating in the untruth yesterday for him to say there was more than one backer only for Matt to say otherwise this morning. Hence my concern and request for the money man to step forward earlier in the week to prove substance in Lynham's boasts. Perhaps if you spoke to Tony Lynam, instead of Tony Lynham ..... ??????? stevegrant Posted 26 June, 2009 Share Posted 26 June, 2009 With all due respect, it's been time to complete the deal for weeks. Events in the last 18 hours have done absolutely nothing to convince anybody that you're any closer to completion - if anything, it's turned many people supporting your bid against you. I'd suggest it would also probably be a good idea if you and MLT got your stories straight before one of you says publicly that there are a number of backers and then the other says publicly that there's only one backer. landford.saint Posted 26 June, 2009 Share Posted 26 June, 2009 QUESTION:- M. Fry must have done some sort of check on the finances available to the Pinnacle bid to assertain that they weren't Tyre Kickers ( M.J.). So I am assuming that at some point Fry was happy that the money was available. Is the money (or money man) still there. MiFi doesn't appear to have more than a few 10's of thousands to his name, so who put up the £500,000 for exclusivity. Was it LC as some have claimed on here. LC must be getting short of accessable cash, he has taken some big losses over SFC in the last 18 months or so. If he puts his hand in his pocket again to keep this club solvent I for one would be forever grateful., I am already forever grateful to him..... Do not know of his personal wealth, but few people can keep putting their hands so deep and so often into their pockets. If it was not LC who coughed up the half million then who was it TL intimated that the costs were already in excess of £1,000,000 . Who is footing the bill, Fialka doesn't appear to be. Webby Posted 26 June, 2009 Share Posted 26 June, 2009 I think that we're maybe splitting hairs by saying Matt said this, Tony said that. Maybe Tony knows that this guy is fronting the deal and that he also has his own money men to support him. As far as Matt's concerned tho, it's just Michael. It's no big deal.
