Deal could be completed within hours according to Meridian.

Which, if their reporting is accurate, would mean that an agreement with the FL has been reached or Pinnacle have retreated and accepted their ruling / conditions.

Either way, if true, then it's good news all round. FIngers, toes and everything else crossed....

Oh this red herring again

Deal could be completed within hours according to Meridian.

Meridian said the same thing back at the end of May.

Either Mark Fry, TL or Meridian are being economical with the truth

They don't say how many hours, perhaps they meant within about 720 hours at the end of May, they could still be correct, if things move on apace now :)

It is my firm belief that TL will get this sorted, reading his last update has given me everything i need, if you read the content and digest it you will see a genuine bloke really fighting our corner, i dread to think how many hours this guy has put into this now. I for one am praying that pinnacle conclude this deal soon but if that means waiting a few days then hell yeah, rather that than where we were before, or some other burk who wants to employ Peter Reid.

I am sure that this the new begining of a club to be proud of and further more I can see us being the envy of all fans, in terms of actually having a board of directors that are prepared to put their necks out for the benefit of our club Southampton FC..

Googled Jim Ratcliffe "25th richest person in the United Kingdom. He does not have a high public profile, and has been described by the Sunday Times as "publicity shy"

Makes sense to me....

His name was all over the Echo website posts about 3 weeks ago, but then went quiet. Seems to make sense as he is, apparently, local.

actually, i've got one post left (this one). Counting to three is a bit of a challenge for our chin, bless. So, in order...

obs - yep. How much would you like to wager?

smirkingsaint - no idea. figure if confidentiality was such a big deal he would've asked his nearest and dearest to be more discreet. i got this info completely un-prompted from somone who's not a footie fan but knows i am and assumed i knew. think if you venture out into the forest you'll find this is pretty common knowledge. Dont think for a minute that a leak on here will register so figured i'd pass it on (maybe help with the impatience given the size of the prize)...

Soton Joe - all yours mate. not trying to score any points, just thought folk would like to know. you are the ITK king!

Chin - assuming the deal completes and the names go public in time, beers on OBS friday?

The article says he's skint.

Well, skint in billionaire terms.

His company is looking to flog its struggling refinery in Scotland (loaded with over £6bn in debt) and is in preliminary talks with various parties. Allegations of asset-stripping follow him everywhere - seems a shrewd but tetchy character. Extremely doubtful its him. But at this stage, would be happy to be proven wrong.

My take on this is that Tony Lynam is just another tyre kicker as too is Jackson.

Time to bring in the professionals.

Fry will squeal because he knows how little Salz is prepared to pay.

But enough is enough IMHO

Regards
