What a beautifully phrased and delicately put sentiment ...lol

Agreed. You know the way a psychologist would tell you that first the brain has to construct the image before it can consciously deal with it?

As in if I were to say "Don't think of a Pink Elephant" you would momentarily and unconsciously visualise a pink elephant.

Well I've got this image of Alpine (or at least the mask image avatar he uses) on a toilet (my toilet in fact) sunk up to his nuts into Mrs Alpine.

For the avoidance of doubt I should point out that I do not know what Mrs Alpine looks like except that she is wearing the same avatar mask with long hair.

Thanks Alpine.

As somebody posted yesterday maybe tomorrow is the crucial day............ Pay day but no wages paid because the club is skint.......... Club automatically goes into Administration and for a short while SLH & SFC are both in Administration............ Pinnacle pay up and immediately take SFC out of Administration.......... FL give SFC a CVA as they have come out of Administration thereby avoiding the extra -15points ....... Pinnacle go with the -10, Everybody happy .................. Simples ;)

Just got in from a job and waiting for update from Tony. First thing this morning he gave me a little bit of background with regards the new set up and then said today would be a very important day. With many of the plans already in motion I took it that this was the cue for the completion by tomorrow, but I'm still waiting to hear an official release.

Not knocking you personally Farmer, but .....

My interpretation..

What I've heard him say in person in the media, plus the report on solent this morning, imply to me that yes it is a VERY important day, not because he will sign today, but because he this morning sent his side's modifed version of the contract back to the FL for them to consider, I suspect along with his lawyers views/threats that we should not be forced into signing the no appeal clause. Assuming he is not a two-faced liar, he seems genuinely to believe that this will make the FL change their mind.

They won't.

The FL will look at it. Their lawyers will say: No, we're right. It's our club. We can make whatever rules we like ..cf Leeds. Eventually, either late today or some time tomorrow, the FL will say: No Tony, we won't accept your modifications

So what then?

Meanwhile Fry is obliged to take other offers very seriously, and if anyone is prepared to match Pinnacle's bid, and pay this month's wages in return for exclusivity, Pinnacle will be history.

The best we fans can hope for is that the FL is prepared to find some face-saving, but largely empty, form of words to enable Lynam to sign very soon without looking a complete idiot. Mawhinney is not known for such a cooperative approach!

FL don't give the club a CVA as this is a formal insolvency procedure under the Insolvency Act 1986.

I think Fry will do the deal tomorrow as staff must be anxious and may leave. Also out of contract players will drift away next week!

I wonder what the atmosphere will be like if the next thing we hear is Matt on SSN saying the deal has been completed and he is the new chairman!!!

Personally, I think it will be 8 minutes before we get the first MLT out post!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shall we start a sweepstake on who will make that post?? LOL!!!!

A post dated " MLT OUT",for when (or if ) he becomes Chairman.

There I'm the first,so there :smt118

Guys

By request, a quick time out to let you know where we are at. Before I start, can I please ask in the nicest possible way that people stop bombarding us with e-mails and text messages for now....... as anyone who has previously taken the time to write to us will testify to, I have personally taken the trouble to reply to each and every one of your messages, e-mails and letters. I will be happy to continue to do so within reason after the takeover is complete in the interests of showing you guys that we are totally transparent and approachable, but for now, it would be helpful if you could press "pause".

On to the important business. I understand from Spencer and others that there is an understandable sense of nervousness amongst some fans. That is quite reasonable to expect under the circumstances, and we are doing everything we can to ensure that those nerves turn into celebration.

What I am going to say is not new, more reiterating what has already been said. We need a football license for the Club to play football, in the same way as a pub needs a liquor license to serve alcohol. The terms which were put to us (and not those originally proposed or agreed) were in their first draft form unacceptable. It became a necessity to discuss this with the Football League, and we continue to discuss some of the points. Such discussions are two way, professionally, frank, open and friendly. In my view, we are both working towards the same goal, ensuring that the right decision is arrived at concerning the contractual terms contained within the agreement. Further contact has been made with the League in the last half hour, and I anticipate more to follow during the remainder of the day.

In the meantime, on a personal note, I am mindful that tomorrow is looming. For this reason, I took an hour out yesterday to meet with all the staff and players at Staplewood, and as many as were at the offices in St Marys so I could explain first hand exactly what was going on, exactly the nature of what needs to happen, and confirmation that we remained totally committed to completing the takeover as originally planned. Moreover, nothing that has happened since these new conditions were placed upon has in any way put us off, if anything it has strengthened our resolve to do the best for the Club. If any other Group(s)/Individuals claim not to be interested in the clauses contained within our contract, this would to my mind raise questions as to why they would not be prepared to stand up for what is best for the Club. Knowing what we know, factually and legally, certain aspects of the agreement need alteration, without which it is our firm belief that you would be exposing the Club to risk. And with this in mind, we are working closely with the League and we will resolve the issues as quickly as possible, thus resulting in the best position for the Club.

On a brighter note, and to get away from the legals for a moment to try and lighten the mood, I was most amused to be e-mailed a picture of a characature chap kicking a tyre this afternoon by a friend on here. Could I politely ask you to perhaps replace the tyre with a lawyer and a rule book please! Whether the picture was supposed to be a joke or an insult, it did make me laugh, and that’s welcome at the minute to keep spirits high.

I know its extremely frustrating guys, but far too much time, effort and money has been spent on this – we’ve now run costs into 7 figures, and that is not done for the fun of it. We will stop at nothing to ensure every measure is taken to ensure the best interests of the Club is served. Your continued support and unity is appreciated and we hope to resolve everything very shortly.

Regards

Tony

Is this a dig at Marc Jackson?

Is this a reference to the possibility of further sanction if the CVA is not produced?

Good to see he has a sense of humour, he'll need it looking at this forum.

So it's about the possibility of extra points deductions then.

I agree.

"certain aspects of the agreement need alteration, without which it is our firm belief that you would be exposing the Club to risk"

I think this is the most telling part of TL's statement. It's been my concern all along that the real sticking point is the possibility of further points deductions.

"Further contact has been made with the League in the last half hour"

Sorry, but that sounds too 'casual' for my liking. As per my questions earlier about how much 'time-of-day' the Football League are giving to this, I rather suspect Pinnacle have not been in a locked room all day with the Football League, much like the RMT and London Underground would be in an 11th hour dispute situation, rather they are having to 'pester' the Football League to divert some of their time scheduled on other matters to deal with the Saints issue(s).

All supposition on my part but that's the impression I get.
