Navysaint Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 Ours will be completed by July 11th according to Arabian business. Everything sorted but huge amount of paperwork for processing. The good doctor to speak to Pompey supporters at the Union Jack Club in london that night. Two weeks-Can you beat that? You mean processing the millions of pounds worth of IOU's! EastleighSoulBoy Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 If as reported Fry is pushing the club to other interested parties he obviously has lost confidence in Pinnacle, If he still thought they were almost there he would be relaxed and just waiting there final signature. Not looking good in my Opinion TBF Mark Fry is doing what Begbies pay him to do. He's looking for the best deal for the creditors. At this moment in time the Pinnacle deal is still the best placed to move forward. However, as you point out, things are not running a true course at this moment. He's not giving up on Pinnacle, he's probably done all that he can so rather than sit on his hands he's doing his job.
sussexsaint Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 I wonder why the 'minor hitches' Pinnacle are supposedly having are taking quite a while to sort out? I suspect it is all to do with any questions being passed from Pinnacle to the FL - the FL passing them to their lawyers who pass the answers back to the FL who send them to Pinnacle who send them to their lawyers etc etc - repeat to fade
Nexstar Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 With other consortiums seemingly edging ever closer to a takeover this really is D-Day for Pinnacle. A failure to deliver an agreement or atleast an announcement saying the takeover will be done tomorrow, I think will spell the end for them and somebody else will become the 'front-runner'. wild-saint Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 Here is the latest that I have heard as of this morning. Pinnacle will happen regardless of whether they resolve the issues with the league First choice manager is shearer. However he is still talking to newcastle so may not happen. Money to spend this season. The reason they want a big name manager is to get bums on seats and attract decent players. The players have been told they will be paid (not sure whether that means tomorrow though) Source - Horse mouth

Big manager is probably what's needed and is sensible in my opinion - harks back to the policy of LM in the 70's. What about the rest of the staff, are they being paid as well? OldNick Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 Sadly after all the hype and enthusiasm that was around last week the morale of the supporters seems to have been crushed. Something that seemed a done deal and a future at long last, looks to be falling around our ears. A statement that the wages have been covered as well as the HMRC and players bonuses would immediately lift the spirits but until that comes we have to look on the downside. Friday we had posts crowing how clever they were in wanting Administration. I wonder how they feel at this moment? For all our sakes I hope they can come on again and tell us how so right they were. I think there are 2 sides to this. On 1 the players should share some of the blame for the mess we are in. They under performed and made costly mistakes. Had this not been the case we could have concievably had higher gates and avoided Administration. So while there moral is low due to not being paid, they should be appologiesing to all the other staff that are also not being paid and probably have less resources to cope with the lack of funds. On the other hand if the worst happens and the club folds all of our current players will no doubtedly get employment in football at a number of other clubs up and down the leagues which will make them feel allot better and moral will return. Same as if the best happens and we see a flood of optimism return to the city and club as we prepare for promotion upon premotion. So I dont really feel too sorry for the players, but the surrounding staff at SMS will be the ones that will suffer so of anyone we should be thinking of them. As it stands now though we are still more likly to be taken over at some point which in turn we hope will make the whole admin process worth while. I wouldnt bother asking those who wanted admin if they are happy about it unless the club fold completly and all the staff are out of work. I just think its getting less and less likly that will happen so no need to be so down.

I tried to point him out to my kids who were just 2 and 3 and just looked blank at me. I had to ground them for 6 years for not knowing who he was despite all the training I had previously put on them. Now they have hust seen sunlight again they dont get on with other kids and squint allot in all this nice weather. Can he send me a signed ball or shirt or just hurry up and make saints fc great again. thank you please
OldNick Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 It's too soon to draw conclusions about the consequences of administration. We shan't know for sure for another season or two, in my opinion. True but actually coming out of it in the best condition is paramount. The days are going on,the risk of further penalties are getting closer. It is a mess, and since friday I notice that the sentiment is becoming more and more depressed.I hold my hand up as being one of those, reading someone like Fitzhugh losing his faith worries me as well. NSS who is a friend of TL has put up a couple of posts today. Trying to read between the lines it seems that Pinnacle based their offer on us getting the -10 back after receiving legal advice. That alone seems madness to me as surely they should have factored in worse case scenario. That would mean they have either gone back to Fry and tried to offer less, which may in turn mean that the creditors may not then agree to a CVA (-25) or are in negotiation with the FL and asking them to not give them any more sanctions for not having a CVA if they accept the -10. I cannot believe they based their offer on not getting a -10. As I say it is me reading between the lines and so be wrong.
