Why?

TL has stated most clealy that he is on the verge of signing the documents once the last few details have been clarified how have we gone from that is the space of a few hours to the blue square?

Because, now that Pinnacle have had it categorically said to them that the FL will NOT allow any appeal re the -10 points ......

... they are "considering their position" .........

As opposed to Mr Lynam categorically stating yesterday, that, "we are going to buy this Club"

Some time ago Dubai Phil posted up how any fan could buy the club, it was to do with leveraging , a bit like the Glazers have done with Man U. Perhaps that is the case now if it was true that the moneyman was not fully on board a few weeks ago.The fact that LC paid the deposit (as was reported yesterday and it was called Crouchs Pinnacle group on the BBC teletext) sent a few alarm bells ringing. If TL does indeed pay the wages thursday then I will be happy that our concerns are groundless. For the posters to call fans drama queens is out of order, they may be complacent enough to believe all is right but many are losing confidence. It is MLT at the front that has stopped many from all out questioning.

Come on nick you know full well that most of the posters on here are Drama Queens:rolleyes:

Probably only you and me that can be discountd from that list:smt073

Just in case I upset GM....You are borderline John:smt007

Perhaps....just perhaps....Pinnacle have come to an arrangement with the Football League whereby the FL agree to restrict the points penalty to -10 as long as SFC go through the CVA process. But, of course, to do that SFC itself would have to go into administration....and perhaps (that's a big "perhaps")....'engineering' a missed pay day will force SFC into a technical administration, so that they can bounce straight back out of it with the requisit CVA....and, hey presto, the FL are happy and SFC are (relatively) happy because we've avoided something worse than a -10 point penalty.

Could that be what it's all about? i.e. it's not just about the -10 points, it's about going through the due process to avoid further points penalties and/or demotions???????

No idea...I'm making this up as I go along (first time for everything....)

I think its a collection of things.

Pinnacle want the right to appeal, i dont think it matters if they do or not but the FL trying to take it away just causes people to think they are trying to cover something up which might make it worth appealing.

The league have treated us as if we are in admin and as such we would have to abide by many different rules to prove we are out of it and have made everyone happy. As we are not officially happy we can realisticly keep to the requests that the league are bound to ask as set by there own rules.

The league dont want to back down and say we were not in admin as that would mean they dont dish out the points penalty which in turn would open up legal battles with several other clubs. But we dont want to back down as we down want to recieve further punishment for things that are obviously not the case.

The way out it seems is for the FL to create a set of rules to cover our situation and Pinnacle will need to agree to them. This in turn would close the loop hole in the system and cover the FL for future issues like this and it would put a halt on any previous clubs wanting to take action.

I can see us getting the -10 points but no further action if the FL pull there finger out but the longer it goes on the more Pinnacle will want to dig there heels in and fight it. The league need to get the rules sorted and loop holes closed ASAP.

This is another one of the problems I am having with this deal. IF it is Pinnacle doing the deal and some mug has provided this company with £15M to spunk on Southampton Football Club, then Tony Lynam can sign the contract on behalf of Pinnacle to purchase the assets, as he is a director of said company. I say this, because we all know that Pinnacle is worth about 5 bob and is in no position to commit to a sizeable asset purchase without outside help.

But this is not going to happen, is it? Any sane investor would ensure that it is his signature on the contract or if not, he ends up owning the assets, in the form of a holding company or something like it (Newco). Now, if Lynam has become a director of Newco, he won't be signing on behalf of Pinnacle or himself. Of course, he could be signing as an agent of Newco, but, why?

What is likely to happen, IF this circus is for real, is for the money man to sign the asset purchase agreement, pat Tony Lynam on the head and make him Director of Pencil Sharpening at St. Marys and then enter the stadium in a blaze of glory. It's what rich people who buy football clubs do...

You really are an objectionable, patronising git, aren't you !!!!

This not paying the players their wages on Thursday is very wide of the mark.....They were seen at the training ground receiving their £10 each from TL..This will obviously increase by £10 per week up to a max £50 when they start playing like footballers and winning sum games.

The staff will be paid in full each week with bonus payments. The Spirit of Southampton returns.

Don't we all?

I currently have four screens with the interweb open on them. Only three have Saintsweb on tho, so I'm not too bad.

Pleased to see "takeover latest official comments updates only etc" has been replaced with the much more realistic "gossip".

It's a sign that will be picked up by the Echo and Meridian soon enough...

3 irish were in reception first thing this morning, one stayed at the ground ("the businessman") the other 2 ("the football guys") went to the training ground...at some point, and driven by dave jones.

fingers crossed something happens...

Didn't The Farmer mention an Irish presence at the training ground today too....? 2 + 2 anyone?

Ah...so Farmer meant that "the bullish Irish fella" at training today was infact Tony Lynam.

That's me officially losing the plot then...

Yes. I thought you were joking. Sometimes you just need to take things at face value and turn your conspiracy sensor off. :D
