Doctoroncall Posted 23 June, 2009 Share Posted 23 June, 2009 Didn't we already appeal? I thought that's why the FL sent in their 'Forensic Accountants'. That was to establish if there was a connection/reason to give the club a points penalty from SLH going into administration.

RedAndWhite91 Posted 23 June, 2009 Share Posted 23 June, 2009 (edited) Anyone see this message from Tony Lynam on the 'On-Going Pinnacle Updates' thread? Sorry if it's been posted elsewhere. Dear All forum users, and fans alike It's now the early hours of Tuesday morning, and before we sign off for the night, I thought you might appreciate some clarity, though appreciate that most of the fans who use this medium might not read this until tomorrow (by which time, this could well have been superseded). Clearly the Football Leagues position as announced this evening is of disappointment. However, discussions are on-going seeking to resolve this as quickly as possible. The League have a duty and responsibility for all of its members, so they have a different opinion to my own concerning certain aspects of our license (I only care about Southampton Football Club, whilst respecting other members in the right manner). The Administrators have made their position clear in their statement this evening, and it is pleasing to see that their views (which are totally independent to our own) are along the same lines as ours. I am still awaiting information from the League concerning their position and I should hope to have this without delay. This is not something I (nor my colleagues) can influence – rather one of those things which will happen as part of a normal process. We are not at loggerheads with the League. I have made this clear via other mediums this evening - we are working together for an acceptable solution to an issue, so please treat the League with the respect that they deserve. I spoke with 3 officials from the League today and whilst the content of those discussions will always remain confidential, I can assure you that the League are working hard to find an acceptable solution to this issue. Finger pointing and blame culture isn't going to resolve this. Rationale thinking and adult debate will, and common sense, law and the rule book will ensure a mutually agreeable outcome. I can only imagine too well how deeply frustrating this is for all of you - none more so than myself, but we remain totally committed and confident that our takeover will be concluded shortly, thus enabling us to get on with the important challenge ahead, putting Southampton Football Club back on the map for the right reasons. Please also spare a thought for all the staff at the Club who are working in difficult circumstances – they are top of our list of priorities, and so they should be. Thank you for your continued support, and I truly hope that these final hurdles will be out of the way without further delay. With kind regards Tony EDIT: Just seen another thread about this message. Gemmel Posted 23 June, 2009 Share Posted 23 June, 2009 I would like to at least know that are still moving in the right direction. For example, the two minor outstanding legal issues from Friday have now been resolved. TL hasnt refered to them in his last two statements, citing only the issues with the FL. Not sure whether they that means they have been resolved or not, but if they have and the league did put something in writing for Pinnacle to digest last night, we could see something happen today. RedAndWhite91 Posted 23 June, 2009 Share Posted 23 June, 2009 On SSN they just said that 'Matt' Fry has accused the FL of an abuse of power, and that he is opening talks with other potential groups. All stuff we know already, but just thought I'd highlight the fact it's still going on on SSN.

Webby Posted 23 June, 2009 Share Posted 23 June, 2009 When I bought my house back in sept '07 there were 2 issues that cropped up very late in the proceedings. One was that the driveway that gave access to us and our 4 neighbours had not been adopted by the council. This meant that any costs involved due to repair work to the road or to pipework underneath may be incurred by the residents. The second one was the one that really peed me off. A new search that happens nowadays pointed out that we were in the parish of whatnot church and that due to some bygone law, residents of the parish were liable for maintenance and repair to the church. I'm not a church go-er or religious at all and I thought this was downright blackmail. However, we could take out a one off insurance of £75 (I think) that would cover us for however long we owned the house. We bit the bullet on both issues and went ahead and bought the house. Sometimes things just don't work out the way you want them to, and although the issues are hard to drop on principle, the timescale and importance of the matter means you have to just let it go and get on with it. I'm sure I'm not the only one and won't be the last. Get on with it Pinnacle. I've forgotten about it now, and so will you in a years time or so. Here's to better days! Channon's Sideburns Posted 23 June, 2009 Share Posted 23 June, 2009 I've been wondering about who Jackson is fronting for...any WHY anyone would let him be the 'front man'... Only someone looking for a fall guy...so blatantly out of his depth that THEY could do their business relatively unnoticed....remember many moons ago that Stuart Green was 'linked' to RL and AC??? My money's on MJ is fronting for RL, MW, AC, GA and Tom Scott with the money...just a hunch. The reality is, if everything is put in front of me and is actually right (legally and morally), I will sign the deal right away. I will not be bullied nor pursuaded into something which is anything less that perfect - and that should to you, and your fellow fans, show a statement of intent for the future. Under our ownership, the Club will come first - and so it should do. Thanks for your message, sorry if I am unable to answer the question further, but I will be happy to answer any further questions once this is all out of the way. Webby Posted 23 June, 2009 Share Posted 23 June, 2009 Yeah this is beginning to worry me. You're not gonna get a perfect deal with the FL. It must go deeper than the 10 points. If Pinnacle can get assurances that that will be it and no further point penalties will be applied (lack of CVA etc etc) then I'd say that's the best they can hope for. Can Tony clarify that at all? Sheff Saint Posted 23 June, 2009 Share Posted 23 June, 2009 Am i wrong to be worried about the fact that, if we accept the -10, we're liable for -17 on top. Cos Surely Darlington and Stockport face -17 (and if not i can see Luton, Bourenmouth, Rotherham and Leeds having a complaint...) and if they get -17 and we don't i can see Darlington and Stockport complaining about us. Certainly if we start the season with 7 points more than Stockport!
