Joesaint Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 Hate to plug a rival, but upthesaints.com are reporting that the deal has been signed, and we are now in Swiss owership. The deal includes "a member of the Liebherr family". Could they be the TMZ.com of the South Coast?? Happy days
70's Mike Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 hard to believe this could be nearly over or is it?

dubai_phil Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 hard to believe this could be nearly over or is it? I so do hope so. Had to take a break the 5 finger wore out. Wow, So much happened, first we had Addisons, then Leprosy and finally Anthrax. Whereas all we had on here in the past 3 hours was a Solent news report which sort of told us all what we had already sort of worked out. Ho hum, hopefully Sarcasticosis next
Master Bates Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 South Today: Wotte "still need a couple of signatures" but everything all good. Deal agreed in principle.

SFC Forever Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 I can't believe the shadow that has been cast over the club is almost removed.

Eyes k8 Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 May be a bit early but congratulations. I think this will all go through these people are realists unlike the pinnicle guys. Think it will be very good for the club. i imagine the plan is to get/keep you in the premier league then sell at a profit. Which is basically what Milan did with us. He was happy, we were happy. Sounds like these people have got both the financial clout and ability to do it. Anyrate I've pencilled you in for a premier league derby at fratton Park in October 1013. Of course we'll still be there, with the ground just as you remember it. See y'all

Leslie Charteris Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 To quote the Echo "The money behind the deal is believed to be from a relative of Swiss billionaires Willi and Isolde Liebherr but at this stage there are no plans for the new owner to appear at a press conference tomorrow." A blue chip business family - I can't wait to find out the reasons for purchasing SFC and what the long term vision is. Tomorrow just might be a truly great day in the history of the Saints, I just hope I feel at least as good about this tomorrow as I do right now.
Master Bates Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 Cheers fishy friend. Looking forward to the derbies again. Not sure about 1013 tho! You never know, they might go back up for a cameo appearance.
Eyes k8 Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 Cheers fishy friend. Looking forward to the derbies again. Not sure about 1013 tho! Damn, 1013 was when Ethelred the Unready fled the country, before his brief return 1014-16 when he finally took ill in Portsmouth and died. It seems I mistakenly confused Ethelred the Unready with Rupert Lowe. you'll understand how easily that could be done. Correction: See you Premier League Oct 2013 Fratton. Simples!

CB Fry Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 Swiss Group? Crane Company? leebur? Something I heard today from a ex collegue that now works in Switzerland? That post is a thing of innocent wonder and simple beauty. Marvellous and definitely the medal winner.
Window Cleaner Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 That post is a thing of innocent wonder and simple beauty. Marvellous and definitely the medal winner. From a poster who was eloquent and well informed enough when singing the praises of "Pinnacle".
CB Fry Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 From a poster who was eloquent and well informed enough when singing the praises of "Pinnacle". Did he? Can't remember. I'll forgive him for producing such a beautiful post in the same way we all forgive the King of Pop for taking twelve year olds up the helter skelter because he wrote such wonderful music.
Draino76 Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 I can't believe people have been moaning about the F5 buttons wearing out. I have never used F5 because I have refresh button on the top right of my browser. So who is the one laughing now? I would say myself and the patient Swiss, with their cash and my pristine keyboard.
Morph Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 I now wish to claim my award of ITK post of the year for this posting well before the Mail got a sniff : http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=347486&postcount=2707 Are you reading NickG ?? Well OK, I'll agree that Exit2 really got the first sniff to which I gave my reply following a good tip off and at the end of the day non of us can really compete with Duncan. I have it on good authority that Markus Liebherr loves a challenge. Well he has certainly chosen well. COYR Kind Regards Morph

Bobbyboy Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 Is it only me that reads this as the money man behind the deal is....? So if he's the money, who is he employing? I await tomorrow with even more interest Good question. Liebherr is new owner, but I don't hear any reports of him as chairman (yet, at least). Who will run the show? Any hints from any ITKers?
Give it to Ron Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 Good question. Liebherr is new owner, but I don't hear any reports of him as chairman (yet, at least). Who will run the show? Any hints from any ITKers? On Solent this afternoon they mentioned that in their other businesses they have a hands off role and bring in people to run their business. It will probably be a week or so before thats done. I expect Jones to carry on for a while. As long as Wotte is given access to some funds to sign a few out of contract players who know the club and want to play for us.

Any hints from any ITKers? I have no idea, but I personally reserve the right to at least TRY and get all the facts before I decide to open the Moet instead of the Sparkling Shiraz (both equally valuable to me of course) meanwhile, lol, my great pal in Syria went to all the trouble to find a photo of a particular product that has merited a couple of mentions of late. I think i will honour his efforts with a new Avatar for a day Had to LMFAO and of course I am sure that like me, nobody on here has ANY idea what it really does, but my mate said we should have got some last year - it would have kept us up... No idea what he meant!

Evo Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 Markus Liebherr's MALI group seem to be quite heavily involved in Common Rail Diesel technology, including holding some patents relating to the same. He's an engineer by trade  meanwhile, lol, my great pal in Syria went to all the trouble to find a photo of a particular product that has merited a couple of mentions of late. He's an engineer by trade  LOL, does it give you a 48-hour extension ? (More likely it gives you the 48-hour sh*ts and a new found desire to avoid fake medicine ) Lol They once produced a different version - it was called "Force-PAM". I asked my mate what the difference was, he replied (in an accent) Iss same like Vega but you get 20% extra free... took a while to work out what he meant, but the plaintiff high pitched cry of "oh no not possible" while on a work trip to Thailand (from the room of one of my employees - honest) sort of gave us a clue Meanwhile, finally proof that after all the comments of the last few years we know what this is all about - somebody wants to play with our train set
Viking Warrior Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 Do Itake it that the picture of the train will be going back in the Boardroom Anyway Fantastic news. I for one will be celebrating tomorrow night
St Chalet Posted 7 July, 2009 Posted 7 July, 2009 I will not be happy with any takeover until GM has done a full forensic and character attack.
