Don't mean to tempt fate, but assuming this takeover does go through, the swiss bidder should be commended for the manner in which they have conducted their business. No fanfares heralding their arrival on the scene, no daily updates on SSN to say 'nearly there, any day now..', no trying to big themselves up by releasing their 'vision' for the future of the club, no shouting how much money they have, no leading the fanbase on. No spin, no rhetoric.

They just kept their heads down, got on with it after pinnacle were out of the equation, and are now on the brink. Hopefully this professionalism will help a united club repair the damage suffered to it's reputation from here on in.

Totally agree - hopefully shows a mature professional approach rather thn the 'flash Harry' look of Pinnacle's bid.

Maybe a bright new dawn for SFC.

Feeling very positive at the moment for the future.

Agreed. I hope we can look to a bright new future....but I'm still furious about Pinnacle. I'm not usually spiteful but I do actually hope that Tony Lynham's business suffers markedly as a result of his duplicity and incompetence over this whole affair.

Thats from this article: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_5418161,00.html -which is clearly using old news that the echo were reporting yesterday.

Exactly, if and when this completes, it will optimise everything that TL and Pinnacle were not. No novelty ex legend fronting the 'bid', and no posting on here.

Could be some happy Saints fans about shortly!

Hopefully, it will be time to plan for the future soon enough. but does anyone think we would have been able to keep DMG or Surman if the Swiss had got exclusivity at the end of May and completed three weeks later? Under those circumstances, we would not have had to sell to pay pwages. Or were DMG and Surman going anyway. I think we might have been able to keep Surman. Further collateral damage from the Pinnacle fiasco.

Well it's got red and white stripes. What's your problem?!

If you look closely on the left boot you will clearly see a Nike tick. Originally introduced to Rugby the chunky leather boot has been adapted for Football (especially League One). The studs have been shortened and the steel toe cap has been made from a lighter metal, to allow the player more speed.

Not on sale till the 1st of September, The Nike:Crunch range is sure to be the boot of choice for the majority of League One players.

The boot is also available in white coloured leather - for tarts.

What page number will we be on when the takover is finalised? Sweepstake anyone? I reckon page # 118.

Nah.

Best we can hope for today is an indication that all will be revealed tomorrow,

with then in the morning maybe some proper leaks (eg name!) and an announcement of a press conference later in the day.

So there's still a good 18-20 hours of dedicated posting and F5-ing to go yet. My money is still on 150 pages.

That we will never know, but the bottom line is that we appear to have been bought by a firm/individual with excellent credentials and a very professional approach. I guess that administration in the end has provided a new begining that we can all look forward to.

IMO we might have kept Surman, but even for him the draw of premiership would have been strong. But I dso think Kelvin would have stayed ...or is he still going to? Anyone got an update on him?

When did the Echo start calling them a Swiss "consortium" instead of a single wealthy Swiss owner as I recall them doing when the Leibherr name broke a couple of days ago?

Love the way they keep changing their headline too - even though the article content harldly changes. Notice they're being very careful with their language, e.g.

"There always remains the chance of last-minute complications but the remaining couple of glitches were ironed out this morning, it is understood."

Actually I've consistently heard them being referred to as the "Swiss Group" across all of the media.

Radio Solent has just confirmed that the contracts are ready for signature and the money to be transferred. Will that finally be the end of this thread tomorrow morning?

After all these false hopes recently I am still concerned that the money will not appear. Just call it pessimistic but I am really worried this will fall through again.

I think we all just want to here the news its a done deal...even though we know nothing about the Swiss or what their real intentions are for the club..we could all be turkeys voting for Christmas!

But what choice do we have?

Sky Sports News have not reported anything (I've had it on in the background for the last 3 hours)...maybe their reporter Gary Cotterrill has died of boredom...

Sky probably lost interest when the Le Tiss connection evaporated, had they ever given so much attention to a third division club before? Goes to show the value of having Mattie involved with the club with his media connections...

Solent update after nik kershaw and the riddle... I've always hated that song

- dealing with swiss consortium.

- fry, FL and Swiss all happy and ready to conclude the deal.

- deal technically should be finished tomorrow morning.

- member of the Liebherr family.

- club on verge of having real real power and financial clout behind them.

- Liebherr family decentralise operations, appointing people to run their businesses.

They gave plenty to MK Dons when they reappointed Paul Ince, to be fair. It depends what else is going on further up the food chain.

They covered the Eastleigh v Saints match live from the ground on Saturday...and that really was a non-event.
