what has that got to do with anything...does not answer the question at all..does mot make tisdale any better or worse..

just want to know who has seen more than say 1 whole exeter or, (wait for it) team bath game live...?

my guess...on here no more than 3 people

So how many games have you watched this season...ok I understand you are away a lot but you often form an opinion.

You read ...watch tv...talk to people that were there?

ince....so i have been told

He'll do for me... but then KK was actually not my initial consideration as I thought he was too good for us at the moment... obviously not!! :)

hmmm

there are a few exeter fans in and around the dockyard...and speaking to them this week they are worried he will be out of his depth this season...

which, in turns worries me considering we are supposed to be aiming a little higher than just stay in the league

I think it is entirely possible to monitor his and his progress without watching Exeter. We do afterall support and follow another club.

Ottery will I'm sure give you a low down on Exeter under PT if you so desire it.

Yep and the Exeter fans I read reviews from all attributed the success to

Perryman.......

As I said I personally want us to shoot for the moon we need to realise to keep picking the Wotte/JP/Dodd/Gorman/Gray/Wigley option is why we got here.

(dare I mention someone??!)

There is one other, who is being very seriously considered and may even be preferred over KK

FFS spit it out man or don't mention it.

Yes we're all in complete awe of your ITKness....... yawn yawn!

Get on with it!

I don't know.

THe dare I mention it comment was a tongue in cheek reference to my championing of PT on here and dare I suggest he maybe the preferred candidate.

I have told everything I currently know - if you don't want to read it fair enough.

I have nothing against Tisdale, and wouldn't be too disappointed if he became manager, but I would prefer a big name appointment.

Although he has done well at Exeter, he isn't the sort of manager who could yet be expected to recruit or retain (relatively) big name players. I'm sure he'd be more than adequate for a reasonable L1 campaign, but if the new board wants to show real ambition, they should aim for a more established manager.

Tisdale has achieved far more, and his teams actually look like they know what they are doing.

Same can't be said for Ince.

And the difference between Ince and Tisdale intelligence wise is staggering, truly staggering. Ince is still probably getting his head round Spot The Dog.

Paul Ince took over a macclesfield side odds on to be relegated out of the football league seven points from safety and kept them up. He then took over at MKD's and in his first season won the football league trophy and finished as champions of league two. What has Tisdale achieved that is greater?

this is all true.

People, say you dont want Ince, say you dont like Ince but dont knock his achievements in the lower leagues. We cry out for English managers and then knock there success. I'd have him because he understands this league, he's been in a worse position than the one which we are starting, my only negative is that if a bigger club comes calling. Forget Blackburn, unless you hit the ground running in the Premiership its doesnt matter who you are, his methods were to radical for the pampered premiership elite.

Not true what some say about Steve Perryman......He is like a General Manager...Director of Football club business....He has contacts re players...BUT does NOT interfere with Paul Tisdale who is THE BOSS re football teams.

Tisdale is supported by John Yemms who has a really good background in Non League Football and Andy Tilson who has just joined....ex QPR Walsall etc and was second in Command to Tisdale at Team Bath...Midfield Player Edwards runs the reserve side under Tisdale managements.

Perryman is more involved with the club as opposed to the football team.

No doubt the odd sounding board etc....At the Cat and Fiddle training ground you will see Tisdale, Yemms and soon to be Tilson coaching but not Perryman.

Anyone who has supported Exeter would NOT be stating he would be out of his depth....Too ridiclous for words and obviously Plymouth and Torquay supporters making their obseervations as Exeter supporters are full of joy and optimism...Tisdale has as much chance/more than most... as other young Managers/Coaches moving up through the leagues...Exeter and previously Team Bath (not Bath City) are/were a joy to watch..

Paul Tisdale is a VERY good coach and a very astute tactician and very respected in football circles......MAYBE if not this year a definite one for the future at Saints.

but how much does he rely on Yemms finding quality non league players for him?

the secret , it seems to me, in the lower leagues is to find players who can gel together as a team , rather than ex premiership players on their way down the leagues

Posted

As long as they are a proper football manager, they will have my unstinting support - Keegan (would be fantastic), Ince, Dowie, Tisdale whoever it is. If the new owner is going to fund them properly, then to make up the 10 point deficit, we're going to need to be 100% behind the team and back the manager accordingly.

That said, given Saints record of c*cking up on a grand scale, I am preparing to see our new manager, Clive Woodward, sitting next to Tiss at the announcement tomorrow, with news that Rupert has found a few loose mill down the back of his sofa to fund it all...

Between Tisdale, Yemms they have aquired quite a few players they /Exeter have played against/watched for future games and some VERY GOOD youth players....A very good/encouraged youth policy. There was never money to buy/pay for stars...Stewart was probably the most well known ex star and he was quite good for the team..most were players from lower leagues..Now Mackie and Sawyer at Plymouth..Moxey to Derby Friend to Wolves .Gill to Norwich..Whatever you think Tisdale is the man...re players/training/tactics etc....Manager of the year in League? and very respected by all others in opposition. Perryman or Steves brother have recomended some but Perryman admits it is down to Tisdale..who makes the decision and that includes match day.....baloney about Perrymanand no substance to those who give Perryman any team credit....Does NOT interfere.

Sorry forgot one or two good loans.....

all of those excite me 100% more than NP's appointment did - and he did ok in this division

Right. Keegan is not coming - FACT!

There will be a new manager and he does have a Saints link so that should keep some of you happy, although I think quite a few will be disappointed.

So it could be

a, Tisdale

b, Dowie,

c, Shearer,

d, Strachan

e, someone else

Which is it?

If you are so sure that Keegan is not coming you must be in the know! if not let us all hope and stop ruining it for us. Negativity is not helpful!

In the absence of KK, I would be more than happy with Tisdale. For the benefit of Delldays, I have seen the Tisdale managed Team Bath play four times (I live six miles from Bath) and they were very exciting. Mostly students, Tisdale moulded them into a very effective and attractive team.

From reading Ottery's description of Exeter, it seems that he just carried on at Exeter where he left off at Team Bath.

Fills me with more enthusiasm for the future than Ince.

Ince and Shearer just strike me as the football equivalent of the emperor's new clothes. WTF people see in them God only knows.

KK would definitely galvanise the city, but he is flawed. TBH I don't think that would matter at this level. It would still be a short term appointment though. Tisdale being appointed would signal to me that the new board are looking long term, which would be a refreshing change.

Exactly my thoughts. This would be a typical Lowe appointment - a promising young british manager with a very limited track record. A real gamble which would be great if it came off but.....

ince....so i have been told

it will not be ince as it is common knowledge that matt doesnt like ince and he will be the first to tell you that.

as my post 2 weeks ago where i told you keegan was going to be involved. also dowie and tisdale will be spoken to.

probably the highest regarded manager in the same division as us.

Would be more exciting appointment and more experienced than NP was for us - and he did ok in this division
