Its like totally not going to happen dude! :smt033 he would need his brain tested to come here when there are lots of more appealing prospects. No offence

Pretty good odds I would say, I'm going to have a punt on that.

It's a certainty that he will quit at some point, after all, he is going to die at some point, probably within the next 40 years.

Does anyone actually have any links to any odds on the KK-Saints connection?

OK - thanks Steve.

Tell Nick to start being positive, or better still not to comment. Interview started so well and then faded. Time to be upbeat.

Nick can say what he likes, sod all to do with me.

Sorry, if already been posted....

SSN says Keegan was at St. Mary's yesterday, so we're no longer reliant on a grainy photo of him outside Matty's house to establish a connection.

Never gets old, I remember the Keegan and Shaun Wright-Phillips photo in the pub loo at Blackburn in the Prem circa 2003/4. Still funny.

Who is SSN's source for that sighting? Did they not have a camera with them?

I hope if Sky play Illingsworth's interview again they edit out the ridiculous statements about Wotte knowing as much about League 1 as KK.....especially if they put up that caption again to show KK's record in League 1 !!

admittedly KK isnt Dutch...........

'The thing lots of fans would say is Wotte's Dutch...'

very surprised that this is true but it shows three things

1) ambition of club

2) finances - he isn't cheap

3) attraction of working for MLT.

I have heard KK is very keen, but he might not be the first choice! Also he has re-emplyment conditions from leaving Newcastle.

This is the one thing that hasn't been bought up in the Echo, Sky sports and until now on here.

Aren't they sueing each other? I'm sure i read about complex contractual wranglings between KK and Newcastle and that Ashley was trying to sue KK for 4 million pounds for walking out.... or something like that

I have a feeling that there was a clause inserted into KK's contract when he went back there that if he resigned without due cause, he would owe the club an amount equal to the remainder of his contract as compensation.

KK will clearly claim that the influence of Dennis Wise and Tony Jiminez above him at the club was "due cause". I'm not entirely sure I'd agree with that, to be honest.

I would - KK is 50 times the player and bloke that Wise is ... not that my opinion matters of course ...

Not sure it would matter much since Ashley is washing his hands clean from football.

well I have no real opinion either way, except i wish they would find someone else to interview BUT if he is going to come on and speak as a Saints fan or whatever at least do a bit of bloody research before you open your trap Nick !!

What they are like as a player and as a bloke is fairly irrelevant here though - the question is whether Wise was wielding undue influence over the role that Keegan was supposed to be performing.

I find it hard to imagine that he wasn't aware of Wise's presence (or likely presence) when he took the job, although clearly there's not going to be any public evidence to confirm or contravene that, so that's just my interpretation of it. Clearly Mike Ashley is a bit of a mentalist, so it's not entirely beyond the realms of possibility that he appointed him and then said "oh, by the way, meet your new Executive Director (Football), you may have met before somewhere..."

there would be money to pay off if he is re-employed after leaving magpies

Oh no!!!!1111111 Never mind then, we shouldn't go for him. Let's stick with Wotte instead.

I thought the courts had found a significant and unilateral change in reporting relationship amounted to constructive dismissal.

I would rather we were on there for tangible footballing achievement rather than hypothetical managerial appointment.

Der...! Yes, we all would. But we don't have much chance of getting any 'tangible footballing achievement' until we have a new board and a new manager in.

So, what have we learned? We are where we are - talking about hypothetical managerial appointments, until one is made.

Whats the betting tomorrow comes and goes and we dont hear a bloody thing.

Well they just said on SSN on the little summary thing after the break that "Kevin Keegan has been in talks with the Southampton takeover consortium Pinnacle, who hope to seal the (takeover) deal tomorrow" (Along those lines anyway).

So it seems talks are going fine, and hopefully tomorrow we will learn we have been saved. Time for the crossing of fingers eh.

An suing is paper talk with no foundation according to newcastle fans on one of their forums.

There has been some sort of settlement according to the geordies a number of weeks ago.

Yes, it's hard to know what goes on behind the scenes especially with a fat lager-swilling ****ney bastard like Mike Ashley at the helm... but the fact is that I just cannot stand Dennis Wise (or Vinnie Jones for that matter) and will take any opportunity, however irrelevant, to slag him off when his name comes up.. it's just blind prejudice from me I'm afraid ... no reasoned arguments or anything like that

..and even though King Kev gets a bit emotional about silly things (like Fergie and being 11 points clear in the Prem) I think it would be fun to have a flawed enthusiast and legend in charge of a third division team playing in front of 32K a week ... and I think he might thrive in a "no lose" situation like ours ...

Here's hoping ...

And why WERE Newcastle so bad ? I mean, they had Keegan in charge not so long ago, surely nothing could go wrong. Could it be that you don't always get value for what you pay for, and it's only terminal when you don't have loads more money to throw at the problem ?

So Keegan is to blame for all of Newcastle's ills? I don't think so. Trying to move that club forward with their headless board, not to mention ridiculous expectations, is more than a job for anyone, as Shearer is finding out.
