Bakovnetski Posted 17 June, 2009 Posted 17 June, 2009 New company car possibility. VW Passat Estate 2.0TDi S 140ps or Toyota Avensis Estate 2.0 D-4D T2 125ps?
Sheaf Saint Posted 17 June, 2009 Posted 17 June, 2009 Don't know about the Toyota, but I had a Passat 2.0TDi estate as a company car for over a year and I absolutely loved it. For a big car it handles like one a lot smaller and the fuel economy is excellent which is handy if the company don't give you a fuel card.
Ponty Posted 17 June, 2009 Posted 17 June, 2009 What are you looking for exactly? An interactive driving experience or a simple tool to get you from A - B with the least cost and fuss? Either way it's probably the Avensis, not that any diesel is particularly engaging.

St Chalet Posted 17 June, 2009 Posted 17 June, 2009 I run the company and it is for one of my guys. Thanks Let the employee choose, that way he will feel 'bought in' to you.
norwaysaint Posted 17 June, 2009 Posted 17 June, 2009 We had exactly the same choice. If I was buying I'd take the Toyota as they are more reliable and the service is better, but if someone else is paying, you might as well get the Passat. We did and have been very hapy with it.
Mole Posted 17 June, 2009 Posted 17 June, 2009 I've got an A4 diesel which is to all intents and purposes a better built Passat. Great car.
Handyman Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 I run the company and it is for one of my guys. Thanks Methinks it has to be the Toyota.
