Moscow Saint (Zhezlov) Posted 13 November, 2009 Posted 13 November, 2009 Think it will be more as its a new ground again, so say about 700, hope the Russians are still going to be in attendance. Seven of Russian Saints will definitely be there + a Latvian one
yorkie Posted 13 November, 2009 Posted 13 November, 2009 I will at at the races! Yes - but will you make the game? I believe you'll be wanting a lift to the game - beware no dirty shoes allowed in my car, or people who don't belt up. There should be room on the boot rack of the MX-5 if you behave! Hartlepool really won't know what to expect when we hit town with the roof down and you on the boot - I hope it's freezing, then I'll have my heated seat on! Fellow Saints fans be in good voice - I bet now half of the Durham Constabulary will be looking for us at Sedgefield...I hope the football intelligence unit does some research as I don't want the unemployed youth from Newcastle, Sunderland & Middlesboro spoiling my day out looking for a ruck! If they do beware I'll set bungle & michelle on ya!
ladysaint Posted 13 November, 2009 Posted 13 November, 2009 Seven of Russian Saints will definitely be there + a Latvian one I am intrigued on how you started supporting Saints, be good to hear the story. Hope I see you all at Hartlepool.

knellster Posted 13 November, 2009 Posted 13 November, 2009 For those going to Sedgefield, you can get cheap admission if you shop at Tesco's. It'll only save a couple of quid, but, as they say, every little helps. http://www.sedgefield-racecourse.co.uk/general-info/tesco-clubcard.php See you there!

half time pie Posted 13 November, 2009 Posted 13 November, 2009 Me and my two mates are going up on the bingo bus, coach two. A badge of honour trip. "I was there at Hartlepool" blah blah
astrasri Posted 13 November, 2009 Posted 13 November, 2009 A season of all seasons, made up my mind about this one before I bought my first ever season this season, even before we started on this tremendous run of form. A badge of honour trip? definitely! Have to go on the coach - need to sleep on the way back ready for work on Weds. Hmmm...good job I don't have beard!!!
Neil Posted 13 November, 2009 Posted 13 November, 2009 However people are getting there, whether staying the night, driving back, hats off just for going! Ok, bingo bus may not be everyone's flask of coffee but it serves a purpose, at least the people going bingo - social misfits or otherwise - actually attend some away games! Which is more than can be said for some keyboard warriors. Anyone up for "Oh When The Saints" in Sedgefield bar?
RonManager Posted 13 November, 2009 Posted 13 November, 2009 The decision is made, the deed is done. Can't believe the rail price from Taunton (£130)so will be driving and staying overnight at the York Hotel.
Lets B Avenue Posted 14 November, 2009 Posted 14 November, 2009 Four of us going up by car and staying in 'pool. Also got ex-pats from Carlisle and Newcastle coming to swell the crowd.
Simon_UK Posted 14 November, 2009 Posted 14 November, 2009 Looking forward to it, taken a week off work and doing a Tour of the UK, drive to Hartlepool Tuesday, stay in 'pool tuesday night, drive from Hartlepool to Edinburgh on Wednesday to go to a gig, then home via Worcester thursday/friday! I must be mad

Which is more than can be said for some keyboard warriors. Anyone up for "Oh When The Saints" in Sedgefield bar? Pretty sure there will be some in there geting ready for the game - I wonder if Mick Channon has any entered in races that day? My wife thinks I'm having a mid life crisis - first the sport car (MX-5) and then the "being one of the lads" syndrome at footie again!
SaintJackoInHurworth Posted 14 November, 2009 Posted 14 November, 2009 It'll be a short drive over from where I'll be that day - but do you know of any parking? Don't mind the walk as long as the car is safe. I've never been to Hartlepool even though it's only 45 mins away from here. However, it looks as if there is an ASDA not far from the ground, so I was wondering whether that might be a good place to park. Anyone know? Also, are people congregating at any particular pubs before the game? I see on the Football Ground Guide that the Jackson's Wharf pub is supposed to be ok for away supporters and is also close to ASDA. Has anyone got any helpful experience??! Cheers!

dannysfc Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 I Was Thinking Of Getting The Train Up And Staying Overnight In A B&B And Then Come Back On The Following Day But I've Changed My Mind And Decided To Get The Fan Coach Up Instead And Will More Than Likely Even Though We Will Stop Once Or Twice End Up With A Numb Ass Or Somethin But There We Go! Come On Saints!

See everyone at Sedgefield in the afternoon!

Ewell Posted 18 November, 2009 Posted 18 November, 2009 Love to go but the trains are too dear now and dont fancy the drive up on my own. Any offers or suggestions on how to get there? I suppose a hotel would also be needed so it would be an expensive one.

One of London Saints is unable to go he's just got new job fhe has spare return train ticket and space in double room in Hartlepool available Contact Chairman or me ticket co-ordinator of London Saints if interested http://www.londonsaints.com/moxie/19/lssc-contacts.shtml
JRM Posted 18 November, 2009 Posted 18 November, 2009 anyone still in any doubt about whether or not to make the effort for this, here is a pic of Hartlepool beach to tempt you (not sure if link will work) http://www.freefoto.com/images/9906/03/9906_03_5---Seaton-Carew--Hartlepool_web.jpg COUNCIL officials in Hartlepool are celebrating after scooping an international beach quality award. A prestigious Blue Flag has been awarded to Seaton Carew in recognition of its high standards of water quality, cleanliness, facilities, safety, and management. It is another huge boost for the town's image as a tourist destination, following on from the announcement that it is to host the world-renowned Tall Ships Race in 2010.

Dan Posted 19 November, 2009 Posted 19 November, 2009 Anyone know how many tickets we have sold? Getting mine tommorow, would be good to have 500 up there.
St Michael Posted 19 November, 2009 Posted 19 November, 2009 Add one more to the swelling ranks. I'm driving up on my lonesome (sniff) from Leeds. Ludicrously, I'm really excited. You'd think I'd have learned by now.
Fareham Saints Posted 19 November, 2009 Posted 19 November, 2009 Me and my brother going up on the coach. Gotta be done.
Rooster Posted 19 November, 2009 Posted 19 November, 2009 Well-we will be buying 2 tickets in the morning! Working in newcastle all next week and hire a car up north-half hour drive job done! Knowing our luck no tickes!!! Any indications of sales yet!!!
Charlie Wayman Posted 20 November, 2009 Posted 20 November, 2009 I've not been inside their ground but have driven past and it seems very easy to get to and it looks modern although small. Hartlepool is a bit dead these days but there has been some regeneration of the old docks, a bit like the original Ocean Village development and there is a very nice Italian Bistro type restaurant right on the dockside. If you are staying over, Middlesborough is the place and has some cheap B&B's and small hotels. Not at all sure about a dark, dank Tuesday night up there. We visited as a stop-over en-route to the Great North Run (1 35.30).
John D Posted 20 November, 2009 Posted 20 November, 2009 Add one more to the swelling ranks. I'm driving up on my lonesome (sniff) from Leeds. Ludicrously, I'm really excited. You'd think I'd have learned by now. There are a few northern saints travelling over from leeds who may have space. Also I am probably driving from manchester so could pick you up on the m62 somewhere. In total there are 14 who have booked tickets through the northern saints supporters club. Its funny how a mate thought I was mad for going and it is only 2.5 hours from manchester unlike most coming up from the south!
unionhotel Posted 20 November, 2009 Posted 20 November, 2009 Working in Bishop Auckland all week. See you there!
ooohTerryHurlock Posted 22 November, 2009 Posted 22 November, 2009 me and the carlisle flyer are going, overnight in 'pool, then back to london for the specials on the wednesday..... nutty! any numbers yet?
Ewell Posted 22 November, 2009 Posted 22 November, 2009 I am going now thanks to a few members of London Saints sorting out train travel and a hotel for me from someone who could not attend. I cannot wait so see you all on Tuesday!
dickyhale Posted 22 November, 2009 Posted 22 November, 2009 We are going Rolly and myself staying in the Premier Ian then going to Grimsby for a bit of fish and chips on the Wednesday. COYR
Yorkshire Saint Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Anyone know if you can pay on the gate?
dannysfc Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Anyone know if you can pay on the gate? I Would Also Like To Know That Aswell And Also That Whether You Can Still Buy Tickets At Saints Or Will They Be At Hartlepool Now?! Thanks!

Ewell Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Are you coming to Sedgefield races? All the real fans are attending. As you know I am not a real fan mate. My train does not get in until 5pm so not a chance I am afraid!
ladysaint Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Are you coming to Sedgefield races? All the real fans are attending. I'm not driving up so doubt if we will get there until about 6ish.
The9 Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 I'll be driving up tomorrow, watching the match, and driving back tomorrow night. Should get back around 3am. I went to Hartlepool for a week in 1999, left South Wales the second Saints' 2-0 win over Everton and our safety was confirmed by Sky around 6pm, and arrived in Hartlepool at midnight on a Sunday night in May to the B&B in a cul-de-sac overlooking a big green bit of common land in ridiculous winds and with the rain hammering in off the North Sea. My room key was under the mat outside. Went to work at the Register Office the next day, where the Superintendent proclaimed his hatred for women drivers, as a life-long cyclist, then spent all week with 6 colleagues trying to find something to do - there was a then-new WB cinema which had more staff than customers, so we went there and to Asda every night. That was about it. It rained all week, I drove past the ground at least 16 times without ever wanting to go in there, and it was blowing a gale and chucking it down about 90% of the time. So at least I'm prepared.
oggiee Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Fair play to all of you that are going up, wish I could make it.
Whitey Grandad Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Fair play to all of you that are going up, wish I could make it. Me too. There will be a minute's silence for Tony Parry: http://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10326~1883782,00.html May he Rest In Peace.
Michelle Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Are you coming to Sedgefield races? All the real fans are attending. lol. See ya there mister.
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Going to Sedgefield races even though i'm not even a horse racing fan. Looking forward to game of the season.
shurlock Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Don't arrive till 6pm - have the name of a hotel i booked ages ago but have no idea where the f**k it is or what cheap and cheerful means in Hartlepool. Slight feelings of dread - going to mean a really unproductive rest of the week if we lose. Tomorrow and wednesday are already write-offs. But its the big one.
stkev7 Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Going to Sedgefield races even though i'm not even a horse racing fan. Looking forward to game of the season. What time you arriving in Hartlepool Andy?
