RedAndWhite91 Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 Bump. It's only 20 days away and I remembered this thread from ages ago. I am well looking forward to it, travelclub coach leaves at 11am and gets back at 5am the next morning apparently, that's going to be fun isn't it... How much would a train cost booked in not-so-advance? How many people do you reckon we'll bring for this one? 400 is my guess.
ladysaint Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 Think it will be more as its a new ground again, so say about 700, hope the Russians are still going to be in attendance.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 Yeah was thinking that but it's a similar distance to Carlisle (?) and we took, what, 920 there? And that was a Saturday... I hope we take about 700, it would be an excellent effort.
Dan Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 No more than 500 will travel. At the moment I have no way of getting up there....hmmmm.
Northam Girls Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 We'll both be there - new ground - winning spree - what more do you need :-)
Saintjersey Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 Does anyone know how many travel coaches are going up?
Michelle Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 I'd nearly forgotten about this thread! Tickets bought, hotel booked... just need the fuel in my car, and off to Hartlepool (via York and Sedgefield Racecourse!) we go!!!
stkev7 Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 All sorted for this one, my penultimate away game before I leave the country again. Train up and night in a B&B in Hartlepool... the nightlife could be interesting up there!
RedAndWhite91 Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 Wish I was getting the sodding train, I could've stayed with a mate at Sunderland Uni... Had a quick look for tickets and the price ranges from £130 upwards to go up there on the Tuesday and come back on the Wednesday. Sod that. Coach it is
Yarm Saint Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 Tuesday night in Yarm is spot on! Plenty of MILF action!!!!!!!

Coach it is Flight to Newcastle from Southampton was £69 return when our group booked in Sept not sure of current price
petts Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 I'll be there, making the short trip down from south tyneside. Those of you wanting to go on to Newcastle after, I think there is a later train to Sunderland, and from there you can get the metro to the toon.
Rory Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 Tuesday night in Yarm is spot on! Plenty of MILF action!!!!!!! Yarm is quality. Inside Out in Darlington is a great club as well. Some prime fitness in there but I'm not sure if it's open on Tuesdays.
Saint_clark Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 Considering I have no way of getting up there after finishing at 5 O clock, I will merely have to salute those of you going.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 Flight to Newcastle from Southampton was £69 return when our group booked in Sept not sure of current price I was overjoyed when I saw it was about £25 each way, but then horrified when I saw there was about £35 worth of taxes and fees each way. It would be about £50 each way in total so I guess we will be getting the coach!!
bungle Posted 4 November, 2009 Author Posted 4 November, 2009 Got my flight from Bristol for £25 return! Bargain!
This Charming Man Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 I wonder how many people that were giving it the big one on here in June about going, are actually going? I'm looking forward to the night out in Toon afterwards, more than the actual game.
Saint Garrett Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 Anyone going via sheffield on the way and on the way back?
yorkie Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 It all seems to have come round very quickly - and with our recent good form we should get a good turn out. Wrap up warm we have just had our first air frost in York...Sedgefield before the game? I wonder if any of Channon's gee gees are running? Anyone looking to the Leeds trip weekend before Xmas? Reckon there may be more at Hartlepool! Anyone got an eye for a tune and lyrics around Monkey Hangers then?
tonibell Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 We driving up and then staying at the premier inn and coming back Wednesday.Have a night away. COYR
sticksaint Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 Myself and 2 others, going from Leeds, tickets came the other day.
Iowsaintsfan Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 Cant wait got my train booked via london £9 London - Durham! mega train from Southampton to london all in all 4 of us going at under £50 each including hotel (excluding match ticket) not bad!
RedAndWhite91 Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 I've learnt my lesson about not planning stuff in advance and the 600-mile round-trip on a coach will be my punishment...
Dan Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 I've learnt my lesson about not planning stuff in advance and the 600-mile round-trip on a coach will be my punishment... You have told us about 3 times, you are on the coach! ....id rather not go, than spend me day sat on that coach in silence with a bunch of muppets.
westy Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 Last time I was in Hartlepool the guy at the B&B told us it was nicknamed Hartlepub. The first pub we went to, a Yates then told us they shut at 7pm on a Tuesday night. Possibly one of the least glamourus towns I've seen but it's quite exciting seeing new places and grounds.
rich saints Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 i will be there looking forward to this one

RedAndWhite91 Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 You have told us about 3 times, you are on the coach! ....id rather not go, than spend me day sat on that coach in silence with a bunch of muppets. Oooooooooops. Well technically the first time was ruling out the train, the second time was ruling out the plane, and the third time was consigning myself to the coach, which, by the way, I am getting to Hartlepool. I just get carried away P.S. I'm getting the coach. P.P.S You might want to change your 'location'.
Iowsaintsfan Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 Oooooooooops. RedAndWhite91 Posted 5 November, 2009 Posted 5 November, 2009 must of missed that sorry See ya up there! i will look out for the guy on 3 coaches! Hahaha unfortunately I'll only be on one coach
Dan Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Oooooooooops. Well technically the first time was ruling out the train, the second time was ruling out the plane, and the third time was consigning myself to the coach, which, by the way, I am getting to Hartlepool. I just get carried away P.S. I'm getting the coach. P.P.S You might want to change your 'location'. Have fun on the muppet bus with your fellow happy clappys is all I can say. And why would I want to change my status? Lowe Out.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Have fun on the muppet bus with your fellow happy clappys is all I can say. And why would I want to change my status? Lowe Out. Well seeing as the coach is my only realistic option of getting there I guess I will have to have fun on it. Unlike some I don't mind sitting on a coach, bored, for all them hours if it means getting to watch Saints play. You have fun listening to it on BBC Solent. And happy clappers? I've only been on the coach once and there wasn't any happy clapping going on. That usually happens in pentecostal churches and places of worship where they dance and sing, the coach is a lot more boring than that.
sticksaint Posted 12 November, 2009 Posted 12 November, 2009 Anybody know how many we`ve sold so far?Shouldn`t think it will be too many!
ladysaint Posted 12 November, 2009 Posted 12 November, 2009 I have one space left going in a 9 seater up and back the same day from Southampton, if anyone interested let me know.
Badger57 Posted 12 November, 2009 Posted 12 November, 2009 Myself and Ron Davies' ex-paper boy will be there.
AphlRed Posted 12 November, 2009 Posted 12 November, 2009 Me and the missus are going up, visiting my son in Newcastle for a couple of days and dragging the soft Geordie git to his first Saints game! Part one of my masterly scheme to convert him to a proper team begins! Wish me luck! See you all up there1
SaintJackoInHurworth Posted 12 November, 2009 Posted 12 November, 2009 I will be there... but then it will only take me about 40 minutes to get there from here! C u there!
yorkie Posted 13 November, 2009 Posted 13 November, 2009 Some of us are going to the races at Sedgefield before the game. Not sure on parking around Hartlepool - on the streets again? Please bring any memorabelia relating to monkey hanging - you will get a very warm welcome. So touchy these northern folk!
Dan Posted 13 November, 2009 Posted 13 November, 2009 You have fun listening to it on BBC Solent. I'l be there, dont worry.
Clapham Saint Posted 13 November, 2009 Posted 13 November, 2009 It's my wife's birthday that day. I took her to visit Hartlepool once before (to see where my father was born) and she wasn't that impressed. Another trip there on a Tuesday night in November won't get me many brownie points. Doing it anyway though right?
Huntingdon Posted 13 November, 2009 Posted 13 November, 2009 How many Saints fans going to Sedgefield in the afternoon? There's 4 of us going AA route planner says it's only 23 mins from racecourse to Hartlepool FC
