rooney Posted 17 June, 2009 Share Posted 17 June, 2009 Saw exeter play us in a pre season friendly last Summer. They were very good. Not at all surprised they got promoted. You will find they are no pushover. I think this was the summer before on a very sunny evening game. Last years pre season was cancelled due to the fact that we were drawn away to them in the Carling Cup which would have been a week or so after. Nonetheless, I must agree with your sentiments. Chez Posted 17 June, 2009 Share Posted 17 June, 2009 What an excellent article. Nice to see a club being open and honest with their fans. no sooner do we sign up do we find out they (Perform) are chumps. Not sure of the financial implications of joining the Perform `group' but I think it is a damn shame that the web business is not performed in house or at the very least by a Southampton based company (apologies of Perform are just that but I would guess they are London based) - I suppose with our recent financial record maybe we are not such an attractive client, but I'd like to see the local community/businesses benefitting from the club which I have no doubt gets a revenue stream from somewhere based on it being a `community club'. stevegrant Posted 17 June, 2009 Share Posted 17 June, 2009 how much did that cost Steve? Who got the clubs nomination then? Total was about £450 inc VAT, which is a fair bit cheaper than last season - they have the cheek to charge £104 + VAT for "delivery", which is basically e-mailing a Word document, and has come down from £150 + VAT from last season. Bit of a joke really. No idea if anyone even applied for it, but I remember speaking to Graham Hiley about it a few years ago and he said they'd probably try to avoid allowing anyone to have that as they didn't want to be seen to favour any one site over the rest. Mad foockers then. But cheers for that, at least we don't have to pretend our personal iteraries include going to see some lions in August any more. stevegrant Posted 17 June, 2009 Share Posted 17 June, 2009 Does the licence extend to the forum pages? All part of the same 'shop window' isn't it? No, for two reasons: 1. We have to display the fixtures licence information on every page where fixtures are shown - the licence information isn't shown on the forum (yet). 2. One of the conditions of the licence is that the fixtures are displayed on a page without adverts. For the normal "Registered Users", they have adverts on every page on the forum, so we'd be contravening those conditions.

sandwichsaint Posted 17 June, 2009 Share Posted 17 June, 2009 Where have all the midweek games gone? I probably get to see up to 8 midweeks H and A in a season, as I can't get to see many Saturdays in Oct-March. Presumably there are more Saturday games in that we play on international Sats and from R3 of the FA Cup onwards.... bit of a ****er for any other midweek-ers out there ... I can't see the Johnson's having quite the same appeal as regular league games. I was thinking of an ST if they were the right price but I don't think I can justify it for the amount of home games I can access... pity!

stevegrant Posted 17 June, 2009 Share Posted 17 June, 2009 How pathetic is it by the way, that you have to pay to put the fixtures up Very, although the most pathetic thing is that you have to pay £104 + VAT for the privilege of them sending an e-mail with the overpriced product you've just bought!
