krissyboy31 Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 (edited) Just said on the South Today bulletin that Pinnacle have NOT had formal contact with KK over a "role" at the club. Edited 18 June, 2009 by krissyboy31
miserableoldgit Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 Just said on the South Today bulletin that Pinnacle have NOT had formal contact with KK over a "roll" at the club. Was he supposed to be trying out the World-Class Catering then??
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 (edited) It's true let's hope they can bring it home as I am now concerned I too am concerned, now, as I thought you knew someone close to Pinnacle ? (only from posts of course) Just read what you posted on other thread !! Edited 18 June, 2009 by INFLUENCED.COM became clearer
krissyboy31 Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 Was he supposed to be trying out the World-Class Catering then?? Lol. That's what trying to multi-task does for you.
Scummer Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 Just said on the South Today bulletin that Pinnacle have NOT had formal contact with KK over a "roll" at the club. So if they haven't had formal contact, that means they've had informal contact. Otherwise they'd just say they've had no contact.....
krissyboy31 Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 So if they haven't had formal contact, that means they've had informal contact. Otherwise they'd just say they've had no contact..... True, but possibly sounding him out (may be during a golf day) is different than interviewing him or offering him the job.
waggy Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 Just said on the South Today bulletin that Pinnacle have NOT had formal contact with KK over a "role" at the club. its a bit of a chicken and egg situation. they (pinnacle) have to have the new board approved by the league/fa and until they get that they won't make any announcement re the club purchase. until they are actually in a position to say that they are the new owners they can't formally announce any appointments. IMHO?

IMHO? TBF they have said what they mean several times up until now so if they say KK is not on route then there is no reason to not believe them. Crouchs words can be taken with a pinch of salt though and could mean absolutly anything.

yellow&blue Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 have recieved a txt saying theres pics of mlt with keegan and leon in todays echo Well the pics are on the front page of Leon Crouch and MLT and a seperate pic of KK, but the Echo seem to think its happening.
krissyboy31 Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 Well the pics are on the front page of Leon Crouch and MLT and a seperate pic of KK, but the Echo seem to think its happening. So they haven't actually been picture together? Unbelievable!!!!
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 Well the pics are on the front page of Leon Crouch and MLT and a seperate pic of KK, but the Echo seem to think its happening. Can you confirm NO picture of the three of them together has been printed ?
bridge too far Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 BBC South regional news slot reporting that the club, in response to rumours, has denied any involvement with KK
SaintRichmond Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 Was he supposed to be trying out the World-Class Catering then?? No, he applied for the Car Park Attendants job......... PS, I for one do NOT want KK as Manager ..... First sign of stress, and he'd be off IMHO
SaintRichmond Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 But why come out and rubbish this? They've said nothing about all of the other carp flying around but actually contact the BBC to tell them there is 'nothing' in THIS story. By the same token, the would not "rubbish " it unless it WAS "rubbish"
krissyboy31 Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 BBC South regional news slot reporting that the club, in response to rumours, has denied any involvement with KK Not quite true. 'Made no formal approach' was the words used. The denial didn't actually state they have not talked to him.
krissyboy31 Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 No, he applied for the Car Park Attendants job......... PS, I for one do NOT want KK as Manager ..... First sign of stress, and he'd be off IMHO What possible stress could he be under here? We are at our lowest point for....just about ever. Any year by year improvement will be good enough for the board and most of the fans TBH. If after 3 years we are still in League 1, then both he and the board could reassess the situation. I actually think if he did take over here, he would be a massive success.
teamsaint Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 so, we have had 2 relegations, endless boardroom nonsense, a mad dutch experiment, and gone into administration. KK as manager doesn't really look like the worst thing to happen, from where I am sitting.
Legod Third Coming Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 I would be very happy with a couple of successful seasons! I'd be happy with a few successful weeks after the last five years...!!!!
thorpie the sinner Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 I for one would be well chuffed with KK!! Well chuffed!
Badger Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 Well the pics are on the front page of Leon Crouch and MLT and a seperate pic of KK, but the Echo seem to think its happening. Crossed my mind on reading the original article,is it all three of them or seperate photos.I just couldn't believe they would be stupid enough to try and dupe people with seperate photos !
SaintRichmond Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 What possible stress could he be under here? We are at our lowest point for....just about ever. I actually think if he did take over here, he would be a massive success. When (His) Team are winning, he's fine ..... (most people would be) But when results go against him, and he has to MANAGE, he disintegrates like a cardboard box in a thunderstorm ........ NOT the one for me, I'm afraid ....... (so therefore he's a nailed on certainty)
Nineteen Canteen Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 My memory may be a bit fuzzy but what was Keegan's success at Man City? a promotion from the CCC to the Premier League. Joe Royle took city from L1 to the Premier League in successive seasons and like so many other clubs they only held on to their premier league status for 1 year. However, Royle not Keegan was the catalyst for their revival so whatever happens let's not allow history to be rewritten on the unjustified belief that a KK media circus would add 10k to the gate beyond the first few games. Good to see Crouch shunning the limelight and sprinkling his fairy dust again. Still, must go and put on my vest and underpants as I'm off down the gym to watch some reruns of 3 lions on the shirt and all that.
OldNick Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 whilst i join with the excitement I think we should worry about the deal going through first. Im a little perturbed by some of the comments by people who are said to be closer to the deal than most.If Doggface's info is correct then we should be a little concerned. I think we are getting close to the next wages being paid and also at this time of year Loyalty bonusses etc are due to be paid to the playing staff. that would be quite a wedge.
Channon's Sideburns Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 When (His) Team are winning, he's fine ..... (most people would be) But when results go against him, and he has to MANAGE, he disintegrates like a cardboard box in a thunderstorm ........ NOT the one for me, I'm afraid ....... (so therefore he's a nailed on certainty) He'll do for me. He's better than any manager we've appointed since WGS.... Call me nostalgic, but for me the happiest times for me as a fan growing up was when KK and MC were playing...no-one under 25 may get that (just generalising) but you had to be there to appreciate how OUR CLUB was viewed back then. No-one cared who was in the Boardroom then, all that mattered was who picked the team and how many goals we scored.... Saints 8 - Coventry 2 anyone? (thanks Perry Suckling) Saints 5 - Coventry 5? Saints 3 - Man U 2? The 84 Cup Run? The 86 Cup Run? THAT goal against Liverpool? I'm welling up just thinking about it.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 No, he applied for the Car Park Attendants job......... PS, I for one do NOT want KK as Manager ..... samoakley Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 Keegan is a legend in football he would attract decent players are backer cleary has money as keegan only joins a club if hes promised x y and z so im sure were end up spending 2mill on players from championship and league one teams and keegan woud also be on a good contract probs championship or low prem league wages keegan is a smart man he wants decent money for himself and for him to use to buy players otherwise he wouldnt consider.
OldNick Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 The 84 Cup Run? The 86 Cup Run? THAT goal against Liverpool? I'm welling up just thinking about it. CS I hate to cut you down there but neither MC or KK were in the teams in those 2 seasons glory
Channon's Sideburns Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 CS I hate to cut you down there but neither MC or KK were in the teams in those 2 seasons glory Nick...I know that....I was there...just paraphrasing for the unitiated....

IMHO, Vastly different to his Managerial attributes
labibs Posted 18 June, 2009 Posted 18 June, 2009 I for one would be in full support of Keegan's appointment. After years of apathy and disillusionment from many supporters, he would certainly generate a buzz around the place and get people fully behind the club again. I agree he may not be the strongest tactician in the world, but we could do a lot worse. He would certainly be someone the fans could rally around. If we don't go for an up and coming younger manager like Tisdale, then I would much prefer Keegan over someone like Dowie, whose name has been mentioned elsewhere. Keegan would definitely be beneficial to us in terms of attracting players to the club, League 1 is hardly a big draw.
