How fast is your connection

I'm at work so:

ping = 19ms

down = 26.35Mb/s

up = 20.78Mb/s

My home speeds also vary quite a bit, between 6am & 7pm they roughly range from:

ping = 40ms - 60ms

down = 5.5Mb/s - 2.5Mb/s

up = 0.4Mb/s - 0.3Mb/s

I've put that down to moving from a 20:1 contention ratio (freedom2surf/tiscali/talktalk) to a standard 50:1 connection (Sky) though as previously download speeds were hitting 7Mb/s at off peak times with an average of around 4Mb/s

Just seen that BT fixed line rentals are going up by £5 a year to subsidise the costs of laying fibres so everyone can enjoy high-speed broadband. Thanks you guys.

i have heard its going to be years before it gets to Southampton

FFS, you've just knocked me off top spot.:mad: Given that you live in Southampyon (and not the unspoilt english countryside) i can only conclude your PC is riddled with vuruses.
