  1. Svensson was good but not so influential,Toby was class but not so strong,Lovren was again good but could make some howlers.
  2. Mark Wright was excellent for us and who could forget his performances during the season when came runners up. Virgil is so strong and I do feel he is even more influential than Mark.
  3. The best centre half I have ever seen in a Saints shirt and I don't say that lightly as I have seen quite a few. We must hold on to him at all cost and build around him,he's a rock in the defence and a threat when he comes forward.
  4. Lambert and Austin?
  5. Forster then.......
  6. Foster Ryan Bertrand Toby Alderweireld Virgil van Dijk Nathaniel Clyne Victor Wanyama Morgan Schneiderlin Adam Lallana Sadio Mané Rickie Lambert (at his best) Shane Long(may surprise some but he would have been a good partner for Ricky)
  7. I know we didn't see much of him last night, but that one touch for his goal was pure class.I was worried that he could never be the player he was after his injury but I think he could well be on the way back to being so.
  8. Very impressed with him last night, great crosses, good pace and never gave up when defending. Good Performance last night all round, lets hope it kicks off our season. Van Dijk was a huge present in defence, so strong rarely gets knocked off the ball. Well done Saints, now for Swansea....
  9. When I saw the Managers after match interview I was totally underwhelmed. He wouldn't inspire me get out of bed on a sunny morning. The club should have kept Koeman, even when we lost he made me chuckle. Lee going was a blow too. I think the fans have had enough of whenever we have a decent season our manager leaves together with our best players. I will be there Thursday, but sadly the club I will always love cannot carry on losing good managers and players, I've got this horrible feeling we will do a Villa this season.
  10. Exactly, you cant keep losing good players together with good managers its going to catch you up sooner or later. It would be a better strategy to try and keep good managers/players by offering them a lucrative contract that they would find hard to turn down rather than spending a lot of money on new players and managers.I know in some cases its inevitable that these move on but do we try hard enough to keep them?

    Goals

In defence we seem reasonably solid but at the other end I cant see us scoring many. Not sure Rodriguez will be the player he once was or promised to be, hope I am proved wrong on that score. Austin warms the bench too much for me. Long is running around like crazy but needs help. Redmond is a good player but I cant see him scoring many, waiting with great anticipation for Boufal, but I can see him more creative than a finisher. Mind you I hold my hand up on that one as I thought that of Mane. Were two players away from a reasonable side, one a striker and one a creative/scoring midfielder. Hjolberg looks good at creating but scoring? Early days I suppose.
  12. Don't get why Shane is the villain of the game,he didn't come on until half way through.Ok he missed when he perhaps should have scored but he gets in position's to do that, he never hides and works his socks off. What did Rodriguez do? I would have liked to see Austin and Long start, that would have given Arsenal something to worry about.
  13. Just seen Puel's after match interview, nearly fell asleep. Rodriguez instead of Long, Højbjerg starting on the bench and Austin not even getting off it.Not Impressed.

    Injury Watch

So my touchy friend if someone is concerned that the club has spent a lot of money on someone who has a serious injury they are as you put it so eloquently a' moaning ****' . As I have said before when I'm in the ground the team has my 100% support, on here I like to say what concerns me when the club does something questionable to debate with others. We have lost two very good managers and numerous talented players in a couple seasons, this season is going to be very difficult one for us. Not sure about this manager but its early days so we have to give him time. The New Players need time as well, but to leave it so late to spend the majority of your transfer budget on an injured player makes little sense to me. The strength in depth of the squad is not good enough too, these things concern this moaning **** but I will be there and I wont show my frustration ,I'll save that just for you.

    Injury Watch

5 weeks can have an impact in the Premiership, wait and see where we are when he's fit. Just read the Mail article,'little injury' and 'Jay Rod stays', good news then......

    Injury Watch

Someone told me Boufal could be another month is that right? Why did we spend so much money on someone who's carrying such a serious injury?
  17. Lawrie Mac. The golden period for Saints Absolutely, amazed more haven't mentioned him. Lawrie brought class players down to the Dell, it was a magical time to be a Saints fan in those days. The Channon/Keegan partnership has never been bettered. Alan Ball,Steve Williams,David Armstrong, the Wallace brothers, etc fantastic players.
  18. 'Why encourage our bold, new manager to be a predictable poor man's carbon copy of 3 of the 4 big clubs (plus crappy, little Everton) when we can be far more ambitious and really take it to them with innovative tactics coupled with young, talented, technical players ?' 'innovative tactics'
  19. 2 points from 9, 2 games at home against not the strongest sides. Not the best of starts...
  20. Mark me at the end of the season.
  21. Injured,Small and Expensive. Does this manager know what he is doing? We need someone Big who can hold the ball up, assist and score.
  22. Is he out of favour at United? I would love to see his experience in Midfield. I know he is 32 but his experience would be valuable.
  23. Holijberg,Pied...To honest we haven't been that busy have we? Redmond looks ok but he's no goal scorer(11 in 112)for Norwich.
  24. Koeman must rate him.We seem to be bringing in players that have been on loan from the clubs we buy them from, why cant they make their first teams?
  25. Strange one this,he didn't seem figure in Koemans plans while here, but is linked with joining him at Everton. We need to be strengthening our squad,if we do so why do we leave it so late? Were all over the place at the moment and its not looking good.
