I never get this need 'to get some history and win trophies 'We have plenty of history, just look at the players that have played for us,the games etc I'm proud to be a Saints fan, dont need the tin to be so.

Its lucky the loyal fans don't prioritise as many games, might be a problem if they did. I can see us going out against Norwich and Liverpool and fighting a relegation battle, the spirit is low, hope I'm wrong.

I remember Dougal(not personally) when he was on The Milton Road End. Saints had a firm around that time called The Warrens, not as notorious as some but you wouldn't want to take too many liberties with them. Dougal was a big guy with as big a personality. He did wear a helmet in the early days. He had a close group of mates who he usually stood with and they knew how to look after themselves, believe me. I never saw him run from any action and had a big reputation because of. As I said I didn't know him personally but as a skinny youth in those days who stood on those terraces which could be scary places in those days you felt safe in his company. Bootsie was a character, one of the first skinheads I ever saw at the Dell.My abiding memory of him was when two fat,red faced Arsenal fans ran past me in Commercial Road being chased by him,he could look terrifying. Rhino and the guy who wore the butchers coat who was a Millwall fan,I think his name was Tony, big character's. Tony tagged on to our group one New Years Eve in town, that was eventful. I wouldn't trade those days for any other, the Dell was like a family, still hurts when I pass the old site.So many memories.

'we looked the better side until the 70 minute mark' not sure I get that it was 0-0 and games last 90 minutes.

We are not 'mid table mediocrity' take the mid table out and you may be right.

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?56853-We-will-struggle-this-season I haven't changed my mind, have a look at some of the comments. They make interesting reading.

Someone needs to fill those bumps in before the wheels come off.

I cant watch his interviews.

It will be very interesting to see if we buy in the transfer window?
-
Bournemouth is in Dorset.

I hope you have the players up for Sunday because its what we call a Derby Game. The fans like to see a bit of passion and a will to win.

If we sell VVD in January we will go down.Sounds melodramatic I know, but he is that important to us.

Whoops! 22 years ago to the day...

'Wembley visit and top 5' You have got to be joking...

It may well be expensive but its poor in quality of depth.

The club has not invested enough into the squad hoping to bring youngsters in on the cheap. No reflection on young Sims, who is a fantastic prospect but he needs time. Its been so obvious to so many that we are lack a strike force, not just from forwards but also from the midfield. Take Austin off and you don't have any threat. The manager can hardly speak English, how does he communicate with the players? If his after match interviews are anything to go by, he wouldn't inspire me to get out of bed on a sunny day. Make no mistake we are in trouble,Fonte dispute,VVD rumours and our lack of a strike force spells trouble. On a another point, the fact that our more vocal fans do not have their own end is a disgrace, imagine having the whole Northam End full our most passionate fans it would give us a huge advantage.Since leaving the Dell we have to some extent lost our identity.

We haven't got a strong enough squad to succeed in Europe and Cups, and increasingly the pressure of staying clear of the relegation zone is going to tell. Every time we show any promise, big clubs come sniffing round for our best players. Why we don't just say NO! GO AWAY can only send the message that we are a selling club with no ambition other than to make money and hopefully maintain our lofty position. I believe speculation surrounding VVD can only have a destabilising affect on the club. You build your defence round a strong centre half. I reserve judgment on the manager, but must say I'm far from impressed to date He doesn't seem very inspiring, I hope I'm wrong for our sake.

Excellent summery.Has to be one of the most toothless Midfields ever to pull on a Saints shirt, unless you enjoy seeing the ball passed sideways and no goals.
-
Don't rate our chances against Everton. No Firepower,Weak Midfield and VVD speculation hasn't helped.
-
In the second half it looked like 2 Saints forwards against 8 Prague defenders. This was a poor Prague side against a pathetic Saints one and the Manager needs to get a grip

Google 'Les Reed promise the Champions League'......

Liverpool won the title by just 3 points and Man Utd came 4th.I'd call that quite close on our part. Keegan left in 82,I was getting confused with the fact that we led the league for over two months and were top for most of the time from the end of January to the beginning of April. Don't find anymore discrepancies Fred or your have me confined to a straight jac
