We (Celtic) are close to signing Simunovic from Dinamo Zagreb apparently. Van Dijk will be a Southampton player by tomorrow night I reckon.

Didn't watch it, not a Southampton fan. But whenever I saw you guys last season he never seemed to add anything.

Last night was the worst he's played in a long time. To be honest, I don't think his attitude in general is a problem at all. He's been linked with clubs for over a year and he's always put in the effort. I think that he thinks he's too good for this league up here (which he is) and it affects his concentration at times. The whole team was awful last night so I'll put it down to a one off.

Good signing for you guys I think. Always thought he was quite good when I saw him play for Chelsea.

Sorry for bringing this back up but while you may not be far from the truth there, van Dijk can and will make it to the very top if he's smart with his transfer(s) and has the right attitude - which he does at the moment. He doesn't just stand out up here, it's like men against boys stuff. He's incredible.

From those 4, as you say it's completely different types of players, but...in terms of who I think will go the furthest in the game then van Dijk. As I say, he has everything. Wanyama can go far as well though. From the current bunch, other than Virgil, then Bitton is the most talented. Strolls through games.

It's a nightmare. That's Hooper, Wanyama, Forster and now van Dijk that we'll have lost in the last few years.

Celtic fan here. Been reading this thread a few times the last couple of days so thought I may as well contribute a bit. I reckon that after the CL qualifiers are over, van Dijk will be off. Regardless of how we got on. You already know but if you do get him, you've got yourselves an absolutely cracking player. He has everything - pace, strength, height, skill, he scores and he can defend. Although in Europe at times, he has switched off. That's the biggest concern, but then again he was fantastic against AC Milan and Ajax. Even played well against Barca. Hopefully the Nir Bitton suggestion is just that, not an actual rumour. I like Southampton but seeing our two best players go to the same club in the same window is too much!
