This is the problem, I've been on this board (in one incarnation or another) for probably 10 years & there has always been "personalities" but lately they have really taken the p*ss. If you have nothing to say....say nothing perhaps the mods should get the banning stick out, or limit the amount of posts per day for trolls/members who frequently bring threads off topic.

Why should Cortese pander to the Echo? He asked them to hold back on a positive storey (if it was a negative storey it would be a different argument) and the Echo put up the 2 finger, then they exasperated the issue by asking Saints legends leading questions/headlining their responses to the Pardew situation on a daily basis. and that was a situation totally created by the media imho. IIRC NC said "I expected better results" at a time when most people agreed, after which results improved and we won a trophy. every man and his dog, weather they lived in an SO postcode or not thought it would be madness to sack AP. yet the media decided to build it up to a management crisis. Is Cortese really having a problem with the media, or is it the media that is the problem? I think we all want him to succeed, I'm sorry R*ppert didn't.

I don't believe this, purely because the source is the very recent ex, I don't know who the girl is, but I hope she has an occupation other than WAG that made me laugh.....sorry. However Lallana is too good for L1 & how long has he left on his contract? It would be interesting to see NC's selling skills. have we taken a fee for a player since NC became CEO? Is it safe to say we are no longer a selling club? also, have we let a few players go that we could have got a fee for?

No I don't disagree, but I do see a little irony in some of the posts on the first page. from the little I have seen of Wotton, I thought he was a decent player - cdaj when required, the opinion I have got from here is that many think/thought he is not good enough for a spot on our 7 man bench.

seeing that I've only ever met about half a dozen Saints fans in real life I don't really know. Although I did hear it mentioned to by the bloke behind me the last time I was in SMS (over a year ago ). I think this forum may reflect life in general, with the fact that empty vessels make the most noise, just look at some peoples post count.... and in such a short space of time.

Is this like a funural, where you can't speak ill of the dead? I presume (I haven't looked it up) that you were saying very recently, that he wasn't good enough?

could it be that NC sees NI as one of those "with their own agenda's and harmful to the club" that he mentioned in his post season/pardew staying interview? Has Saints FC ever contacted Saintsweb about use of the badge etc.?

I dont assosiate white (with a red sash) to saints. I might after the end of next season, but I dont think so. if it was a true "gift to the fan's" it would have been stripes, available for one year only, when were still in L1. when were back in the prem we will still sell new shirts.

OP, sorry for keeping this off topic, but I would imagine that if you were to multiply the points per game achieved before Oct 1st by 46 we would have finished fairly low on the table & that is very similar to the argument that says that we are going to walk the title this season.

I might be blind, but Cortese does not strike me as a man that either accepts or makes excuses. I suspect that Mr Steedman has been set a target & will be reminded of that if it looks like he is going to miss it.

the maximum team we can field in any one game is 14 players, so even if we do have 4/5 injuries, we can still field an experienced team. there is room for youth to force their way through, loanees to make an impact & to sign better quality players. IMHO (based on what I mainly read on here) the current squad looks in pretty good shape at the mo. Quality over quantity.

It's a little late for the appointment to have any effect on this seasons ST sales but I would imagine (or at least hope) that the "head of ALL sales and marketing" will have a say on next seasons pricing policy/strategy.

there have been quite a few complaints about the sales & marketing dept on here lately, the club have seen they are lacking in this area and have appointed (what seems to be) one of the best in the business. this is great news imho, and it is keeping up the trend of NC hiring the best man for the job. or am i just believing the hype?

Thanks St Landrew, it's a Philips hts3300 I'm able to change source today, so I'm going to go up to maplin to see if I can get the correct screwdriver. edit>>> sorted, needed a torx screwdriver and a 19mm belt, got them both in maplin. a simple job total cost = €12

so... my philips dvd player/surround sound is fecked. the drawer wont open or close and i cant change function onto aux, so i cant use the surround sound for the telly. There was a DVD stuck in there and I thought that was causing the problem but I got that out by turning it upside down and opening the tray with a release switch (advice read somewhere online). When the drawer opened a snapped rubber band came out as well. I suspect this will cost more to fix than it's worth & I don't have a funny head screw driver to see if i can fix it myself. So what are my options? can I just get a Philips (or any other brand) surround sound system without the speakers? the speakers are fine, but have "easy-fit" connections. I hope i am wrong, but I wouldn't imagine that these are industry standard, can I change them? all advice welcome, but I am really looking for a cheap fix:)

Personally I think Cortese has done an excellent job in his first year as CEO or even involved in football. yes he has made some mistakes along the way including keeping the tiff with the echo going on. But he has given a few articulate interviews and statements, should he really have to be at the beck and call of the press. at least he isn't in talking sh*te about star trek

doesn't Lallana only have 12 month's left on his contract? obviously we want him to sign an extension but what happens if he doesn't want to? should we cash in or keep him for the season. personally I think, considering we are financially sound, we should keep him.

regardless of weather you like the design or not, how is it just another money spinner? the club have to have an away shirt, it's in the rules.
