Will be because the confirmation statement is now 3 months late
  2. I've still not got my refund for those games either - perhaps I'll give them a call and tell them to hold off on the Sheff utd one!!
  3. Hope not. It may depend on what tier the area you live in is currently in. Doesn't help me being in Manchester though.
  4. I just need Manchester to get out of tier 3 so I'm allowed to travel!!
  5. Correct. Club could be safe on 40 points after 25 odd games and lose the rest. Wouldn't say they were in a relegation battle.
  6. Might be ok as according to Turkish he's only got a bit of one
  7. Absolutely spot on
  8. In the unlikely event that results go our way before the City v scousers game is anyone thinking long term and prefer a draw so that our title rivals both drop points or just stay top? 🙂

At a very basic level: £180m to buy Southampton or £60m to buy Derby. Potential for ROI significantly higher by buying Derby. Very limited chance of increasing value in Southampton beyond what it is now without spending on transfers. Derby have decent ground and training facilities so it becomes how much do you think needs to be spent to build a squad to get promoted. Spend £60m to go up and then have an asset worth £180m (taking Saints as comparative). Not a bad return. Clearly higher risk with Derby as spending £60m doesn't guarantee promotion plus how much more to stay there but much greater upside if it comes off.
  10. Perhaps it's a personal issue or an illness and the club are respecting the player's right to privacy. He's only a young lad in a new country so needs support

Missing for me too on both phone and laptop (using Chrome)
  12. Yes they are. The meeting today was billed as a focus group and they confirmed that the fans forum will return
  13. This is a plausible scenario. Top 6 won't go to a super League as they know it will alienate even their own fans. But a reduced national League which they control which gives them more TV money and allows them a bigger Euro league is their goal. All they need to do is get a few more on board such as Everton / West ham etc and then others will be too scared of missing out so will sign up. Will be messy but then Sky will follow with the money especially if EFL is supporting it.

Whether she sells her share won't matter. Unless Gao is a fucking moron (which isn't inconceivable) there is no way she has a veto on who he sells his shares to.
  15. Proposal suggests it will be done in one season with 5 down and 3 up
  16. This is a power grab by the big 6 which is being sweetened by a promise of more money to the EFL. There is no way 9 clubs should have that level of power.

Gone back to being slow and timing out for me unfortunately
  18. I predict top 2 will be City and Liverpool CL places will be between Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs with Leicester, Man Utd and Everton scrapping for Europa spot Wolves, West Ham, Newcastle, Palace, Leeds, Villa and Saints to all finish mid table. Bottom five between Brighton, Sheff Utd, Burnley, Fulham and West Brom with the latter 3 all going down
  19. The Ings deal only started happening on deadline day when Liverpool agreed he could leave. So wouldn't have been in the press before.
  20. Can buy anything except this year's kit. Admittedly no-one can buy this year's kit currently
  21. Would he be in quarantine having entered from the UK? No idea what rules are in Italy and can't be arsed to Google it!
  22. The first 2 they sent me didn't work. Third one did. Just got an email reminder saying I've not spent the first one that didn't work.
  23. They are asking for £250m from Govt and/PL. Simply put that would mean Saints donating £12.5m if each club gave an equal amount. Whilst it may be the right thing to do I'm not sure Saints can afford it given we borrowed £70m not so long ago. Would certainly impact who we sign in this window.
  24. It is not the VAR rules that are the problem. More that there is again a change in how to assess what a handball is. VAR enables greater scrutiny but it seem like the rule setting bodies are using it to come up with ridiculous ways of determining if it is handball or not rather than sticking to a common sense approach which VAR could facilitate.
  25. That's what I thought. Didn't understand that comment in the Athletic article. I think it is what Gao has done with Saints but it isn't transparent because it is impossible to follow the trail once our ownership disappears into the BVI
