I wish you were right, he’s far too lightweight for this league, as he was last time he played in it. However as with Jack Stephens I fully expect him to be one of the first names on the team sheet each week as long as Russ is in charge.

Not saying he’s the answer by any stretch of the imagination, but what was the point of all this crosses into the box today and not playing someone like Tall Paul to get on the end of them.

That whole thing started with Smallbone bottling a 50/50 on the halfway line.

They just look so much stronger than us in every department, and with all due respect to them they’re not a particularly good team. Long season ahead if some of these squad keep playing each week. Smallbone stays on somehow, honestly he’s a waif of a man, far too weak for this league, was before too.

Don’t know if it’s stadium wide but the painted murals in the Northam are fucking brilliant. Weird being in what has been the away end for the last 23 years.

This is genuinely a decent move by the club as long as prices aren’t too stupid. Discovered last season that since Bluestar took over First and changed the routes slightly I can get a bus pretty much door to door so am happy to hang around here on a match day until the bus queue dies down. The fact that it’s going to open at half time too to dilute the concourse crowd is a good move.

Thank god for that. Him and Che gone in the same window, lovely stuff. Always said he’ll end up at some mid to lower league French side as that’s his level. £10.2 mill is a great bit of business whoever negotiated that.

This is what frustrates me, and has been mentioned many times on here. Our goalkeeping department has been a clear weakness for a number of seasons now, and everyone bar the people running the show can see it. AM had a solid few games at the end of last season but the performances weren’t exactly world class, it’s probably the fact that he did the simple stuff well that made him stand out over a poor Bazunu. Why on earth that was worthy of a 2 year contract extension is beyond me. We simply have to get a solid keeper in if we are to stay up. That performance today actually encouraged me to be fair, and I think a couple more signings could see us ok. We need an equivalent to Boruc last time we we found ourselves in this position.

Scares me how under prepared we are for the start of the season. I feel poor Russ is about to get a harsh lesson in being too friendly and loyal with certain members of the squad.

Ha! Skates fucked it!

The whole Stewart fiasco is farcical. He’s clearly fucked, and the club are trying to play it down for some reason. To make the bench at the end of last season, yet not travel with the team to Spain, and then not feature in any of pre season suggests something’s happened in his recovery, or another injury.

Hopefully the rise in counterfeits give way to cheaper official gear from clubs and international teams. They’ve been ripping people off for years overcharging for a kit that costs pennies to make. Instead of Wednesday and The FA threatening to take action they should take a good look at themselves in the mirror, especially with cost of living as high as it is.

This baffles me as well. I know as fans we like to think we know better than the coaches at times, but when it comes to the keeper situation at this club I’m genuinely mystified how the relevant people cannot see that our GK department is the weakest part of our squad, and has been for a few years now.

Indeed this, people go on about age as if these guys are going to get to 24 years old and suddenly turn into prime Henry. They should be showing signs by now they’re going to become something, and it ain’t happening.

Was worried he was going to sign that extension that we offered him. Had his moments, but I’m glad we no longer have to watch him in a Saints shirt anymore.
