Hopefully it’s purely a result of the depressing shit served up recently. Going to football has become a chore for a lot of people. Fingers crossed at some point in the not too distant future the tide will turn and the stadium will find its voice again.

I’d take Russell Grant over Russell Martin at the moment.

A proper tradesman will normally complete the work, issue an invoice, and then give you a fair and reasonable time to pay it which like you said is about a week. Any materials they’ve had to buy would have likely been on a credit account so the cost of those won’t fall due for between 30-60 days, and no sensible trader would leave themselves so short that they can’t afford to live for a week. Might be worth checking their work and seeing if they’ve actually completed what they said they would, and to an acceptable standard. If they want payment so soon it’s because you’ll never see them again if issues arise.

The only way that another manager could keep us up IMO would be by playing a completely different brand of football to the one Sports Republic want us to play, which is why I don’t see them getting rid of RM. Say for example Moyes came in, he’d set us up hard to beat, he’d want a new centre half, want us to be strong in the centre of the pitch, playing a lot more direct with 2 strikers through the middle. Even if Russ did get the boot they’ll just replace him with some chai latte drinking hipster from the championship that’s obsessed with possession based football, who isn’t up to the task and we’ll just rinse and repeat this whole scenario within a year.
