Oh by the way with reference to my earlier post that FF has reposted on here,Connolly and Lambert were marked with a 6 out of 10,I forgot to write it in.

Lots of running around, but not really doing a lot. Baffled that you can call it his best performance so far when he scored no goals,or set any up. I'd say Bristol Rovers was his best performance.

Christ knows what game the Echo were watching yesterday, their player ratings are... Davis 7 - Unlucky with Brightons second goal James 6 - Always a threat going forward Trotamn 4 - Hauled off after a disastrous first halk Jaidi 5 - Not his best afternoon Harding 5 - Booed throughout by Brighton fans Antonio 6 - Flashes of his recent form Hammond 6 - Not as his best against former club Schneiderlin 7 - Showed glimpses of real quality Lallanna 6 - Had chances to score Connolly - His 2 years without a game maybe catching up with him Lambert - At least he got on the scoresheet. Brighton... Kuipers 6 Whing 6 Elphick 5 Tunicliffe 5 E-Abd 5 Bennett 6 Dicker 6 Crofts 6 Cox 7 Forster 6 Murray 5 Now I know you expect a local paper to be a bit biased but thats taking the ****! Would love to know where Morgans 'glimpses of real quality' were,as I thought he was complete gash, and how did they decide that a poor performance by Lambert and an Ormerod-esque performance from Connolly was worthy of a 6,yet 2 goal Glenn Murray who looked a threat throughout was only worth a 5!? Also in the bookings section they have the only yellow card going to Dailly for Brighton. Have they just cut and pasted the details from the Charlton match?

Villa away in the league 1999. Won 1-0, Dean Richards scored a late winner. Not seen us win an away game in the league since.
-
That game was an example of why we won't go up this season. We need to roll our sleeves up against teams like this and Leyton Orient and get stuck in,instead we were totally complacent. Too many fans with their 4-1 and 5-0 win predictions need to take a step back and be realistic. Fair play to Brighton today, totally deserved the win.
-
My bad,got that result mixed up with the Lazio friendly the week before.
-
If rumours are true he wasn't dropped but had a bit of a panic attack the day of the game and requested not to start, hence Davis coming back in. Since then yes he hasn't looked the most confident of keepers. Will never forget his performance when Crystal Palace beat us 5-2 on the opeing day of the 07/08 season.

Boring!

**** that,we've done more than enough in the past to help them financially and their fans still have some complex against us,i'd rather anyone got half the ticket sales then that lot. Besides, their league form suggests it wouldn't be an 'easy' win. I'd like any non-league team at home so they get a bit of a financial boost.
-
Awesome, thanks! Didn't really fancy paying £15 for it.
-
Just slightly off topic, but does anyone know if any of these streams will be showing the Haye vs Valuev fight tomorrow?

Great win! Although I don't think the scoreline really reflects the game though, was nice to score 3 goals like that in quick succession! Do hope Harding was taken off as a precaution as that nearly screwed us over big time.
-
Their first goal was more down that fact that Harding had left his man COMPLETELY unmarked to provide the cross rather than a 'gameplan' . Other than that there was an own goal and not too much else,so I can't really see a chink in our armour.

Just back from the game, happy to have got the draw in the end given the circumstances,2 unfortunate goals to concede!! Predicted the result in the build up thread, was very much a wake up call for the fans that thought all we had to do was turn up today to win 3 points. Agree that the 4-5-1 really isn't working,Lambert looked ****ed off up there on his own,the game completely changed once Antonio and Connelly came on,like others have said its nice to have that bit of quality in the bench to bring on. No one performed too badly,Jaidi and Trotman looked strong as usual and won pretty much everything in the air. Davis couldn't have done much about either of the goals. James' corners were woeful, why is a left footer not taking them so they swing inward, simple isn't it? Waigo was getting a lot of the ball down the right wing, but his crosses were either going straight to the keeper or instead of trying to turn his marker he'd try and play for a throw or corner, needs to show a bit more confidence. Wotton did alright, played a couple of great through balls which unfortunately amounted to nothing. Lambert took his goals well, the second one was a cracking volley, hope we hold on to him should we fail to get promoted. Just wish we could win when we take a massive away following!
-
Hmmm, seeing as we always buckle under the pressure when we take a big away following, and theres too much over-confidence in the fact we should win,i'll go for a 2-2 draw. Always a pessimist with away games as its been nearly 10 years to the day since I last saw us win one in the league,my luck really is that bad.
-
Thought the same myself, the article should have read "In his first season, he was crap. In his second, a bit better. And last season, he was outstanding." Don't think Beatts deserves to be just 1 place ahead of him. Still, good article none the less.

Finally back from the pub, felt that game was worthy of a few pints! I had a feeling before the game today that if we could win this won we had to be considered for genuine play-off contenders, and now I can't see any reason that isn't obtainable! Antonio gets MOTM for me,completely changed the game! Can't wait for LO next week, just hope the players don't turn up with some of our fans "easy, easy, easy" mentalilty else we could be in for a shock.

If Southampton City Council hadn't offered us that piece of land would we even have a new stadium?
-
My vote would go to Peter Winkleman for overseeing Wimbledons' move to errrr,60 miles away!!
-
I'm with you on that one, that whole first half was a personal battle between him and Ormerod. Shame Paul Jones isn't in that list of keepers, wasn't the greatest but better than a good few of the ones on there.
-
Interesting question, who was the last English player we signed from a non league club? Anyone know? (I don't btw)
-
He's a Chelsea fan.
-
Great prices, still don't agree with the £15 matchday price though. I know the fans have plenty of time to get tickets in advance, but we should be encouraging people who might not decide till the day,not putting them off.

When I think of that game I think of it more about Beckham making up for France 98. We need to get revenge against Maradona personally IMO.
