I stand corrected said the man in the orthopaedic shoes. I thought with the way it had been cutting up they'd done a Wembley and just laid fresh turf down.

As good as it looks on tv i'd say the pitch is the worst i've seen it since we moved to SMS. They skimmed the top soil and laid fresh turf down pre season instead of seeding it and its been cutting up bad ever since. That said though,its still one of the best pitches in the FL.

Awful news,36 is no age at all. Dean was a class above from 99-01 and was by far one of my favourite players, would rank him along side Killer in terms of ability,would love to have seen them play together. Thoughts to his friends and family.

My post wasn't intended as a comparison of scores,it was in response to the claim that nobody could have led to a win at Hartlepool on a Tuesday night in crap weather,even though Pards managed it last year with much the same group of players which makes the claim null and void.

Yes. That little tinpot club has been a thorn in our side these 2 seasons, time we sent them a step closer to league two with a hammering.

Their Wembley Stadium show last year was incredible. Never seen such a level of crowd interaction,plenty of the older stuff which i'm more a fan of,and it went on for almost 3 hours. Billie-Joe is a class act as a front man.

We got a 3-1 win there last season under Pardew,why couldn't Adkins acheive the same?

Disappointed with a draw,massively disappointed. Another chance to gain points on everyone around us and we **** it up again,its not good enough if we really are going to get out of this league. Remember Mark Venus and Tudgay scoring stunning top corner screamers for Ipswich and Blackburn respectively when we first moved to St Mary's. Was at Highbury when we got butt-raped 6-1 just before the cup final in '03, couldnt help but applaud Pires' 35 yard curled lob.

Perhaps you can ask the people who have frequented the Northam since SMS if they, like me, agree that since we've been slipping down the leagues and prices have dropped, that more chavvy little ****tards occupy the stand compared to back in the Prem days, and it no longer has the buzz that it used to. Its normally at its worse when there's a cheap cup game or ticket offer for a tenner. I do look forward to that lot being priced out of it if we reach the Prem. Apologies that you don't like my opinion,but no I won't keep it to myself,otherwise whats the point of a forum.

Don't fret too much Dune,i'm sure when we get back to the Prem the pikies and gob****es that are now present in the Northam will be unable to afford to go anymore as they won't earn enough on the social and we'll have a better class of Northamers. Having had the same ST in block 41 since we moved to SMS it really is clear how downhill the stand has gone.

Remember him being here but like others am unsure why he never got a game compared to some who did. Seem to recall his being one of transfers looked at a few years ago as part of the anti corruption thing.

I think with regards to Anders most people, myself included, felt he was a quality player but never really played a system or put him in a position that allowed him to really shine as much as he was capable of. He certainly had moments of brilliance and was always good for a little brazillian spin on the ball now and then,but its only now looking back through some of the videos ive uploaded that I think what a class act he could have been in the Prem.

Blayney would play one more game after that for us, the oh so memorable trip to Watford in the Carling Cup the following Tuesday. What an embarassing night that was!
