Would we be likely to actually spend money in this window, or will it probably be a couple of loans again? I'd take Andros Townsend on loan for the rest of the season (spurs want stupid money for him if the papers are to be believed.) Can't think of many decent available strikers though

Not sure if he's been mentioned already, but Loic Remy would be a great signing if we could afford the wages.

the board have ****ed up on this years transfers. Lost so much quality in the team and it shows. Please just buy some decent players, even if it means spending more than £5 million like the rest of these bang average players we have signed.

Completely agree with this, I'm fairly worried that the teams around us have strengthened way more than we have. Sure we have more depth in the squad but i'm not convinced that the first 11 is any better than last year or even the year before.

Although i'm fuming at the loss and the way we lost, I think people need to calm down a little. If it was to happen then i'm happy it happened now rather than later. Transfer window is still open and we should still be after a couple of players, hopefully of a higher quality. Besides, we still have Bertrand and Clasie to come back into the squad. Hope the board saw this and stops messing about, these £5 million signings for the squad are good, but some higher investment in the first 11 might be necessary.

Started the second half how we should have started the first half! Much more balanced with romeu on.

Nowhere near the quality of last seasons team yet, need to stop messing about with the CB situation. Our midfield is also offering close to no protection atm, and is Clasie really the player to put a stop to that? Hopefully we bring on Romeu for tadic or davis and hope we can scrap for a point.

They'll be fired up but I think this is a winnable game. Don't know anything about their new signings, but Mane will cut through their defence quite easily imo. My main worry is who will start alongside Fonte, don't think Caulker is good enough.

Absolutely perfect result, allows for a little bit of rotation for the away leg so potentially a fully fit squad for Newcastle. Thought Cedric was superb but could maybe work on his deliveries, not fully convinced by Clasie but early days yet.

Excited for this game, hoping that we can score a few tonight so that we don't have to worry too much about the away leg. Especially with the newcastle game so close.

Doesn't matter, he probably won't last the season. Good manager for us but I can't see him going much bigger than spurs, not of the same quality as Koeman imo.
