I personally think we are his level he's just not good enough at passing and often gives away cheap freekicks. For 20mil there's got to be better options out there guess it's just because he's proven in the prem and it weakens a "rival". He's a good premier league player but I don't see him in the same class as Morgan at all also him and Bentaleb in midfield for Tottenham is a bit too defensive they struggle to score goals as it is.

Not really Koeman came out and said this team are really strong in the air and that they have a throw in specialist like delap. So I'm guessing Yoshida is in there to try counter that as Cedric is pretty small and isn't going help much if they put everything in the air.

People do realise it's the start of the season? Where there are always shock results and teams that aren't at their best yet. The main problem was the balance of the team Davis shouldn't of started in the holding role in from of Yoshida especially when our fullbacks push so high and also we seemed to cross the ball to pelle way to much as he wasn't winning anything in the air against Evertons CBs compared to Lukaku who ran Fonte and Yoshida absolutely ragged, he destroyed Yoshida just like he did when he was at West Brom. I think it was all about the pace and power of Kone and Lukaku which our defence couldn't handle at all. But I don't think there much to worry about Romeu will improve our midfield and the balance of our team and then hopefully the new centre back we bring in will help improve the defence along with the return of Bertrand plus Cedrics defending is bound to improve at least a little bit.

We aren't abandoning it, if shaw, lallana and chambers didn't want to leave we would still have 3 academy players in the first team and no one would say anything if we loaned reed and the others out. Also we are completely different to the big clubs we don't go out and buy loads of young English players from the lower leagues or academy age groups just to loan them out. Just because we are loaning some players out so they can play more doesn't mean we are abandoning the 'The Southampton Way'. Look at Harry Kane he was loaned out quite a few times you don't need to just be thrusted into the first team at a young age to make it as a player.

It's everyone's obsession with English players that f***s us over. Look at Liverpool who try to buy every single English player they can; Carroll, Downing, Ings and even Lallana are all good English players but don't belong anywhere near the top 6 teams then you have players like Delph, Rodwell and Sinclair going to city just for the money. The big teams and the players themselves are to blame for the state of the national team and the lack of English players starting in the English league not teams like us or Villa, Delph could have started nearly every game for Villa this season but no he wanted the money. Chambers could of been our starting right back but no he wanted the money. Ings could be playing everyweek at a team like Newcastle or Sunderland but he went for the money. Look at West Ham and that Reece Oxford the big clubs have already been circling, or that Izzy Brown that would of probably played quite a few games for West Brom in the premier league if he hadn't of gone to Chelsea at the first chance he got. The big clubs are guilty of stockpiling English talent that don't even get game time but the players themselves are guilty of making stupid career choices. Yes I know they are getting MORE money but that's the problem they don't deserve more money they are getting it just because they are English.

Maybe makes sense if we sell him to a club abroad, but if we sell him to villa i would be very disappointed.

3 years is a decent length if he turns out to be something special then with a year left on his contract we would still make a profit on the reported £5 mil. And if he turns out to be like Mayuka then he's not on that long a contract. Also Jack cork is massively overrated by saints fans if he was Dutch no one would care that he left he was average he is good enough for the premier league but he isn't anything special.

I didn't think Toby was that good way to many over hit long balls and beaten in the air too often by Rooney, but he was comfortable in possession and made a good run at the end tho. I was more impressed with lovrens first half of the season with us than I was with Toby last year, I do really rate Toby but he is replaceable.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love Toby to pull his hamstring or better yet do a full blown lovren

Yes obviously as a fan it's completely different wrong or right that's how it is. Toby is a C**t and Billy Sharp is a legend, it's the way it works in pretty much all clubs.

Caulker wasn't at fault for that goal just because he's playing left centre back, in that passage of play Caulker was on the right and Fonte on the left. So if anything it's Fonte's man yes if they hadn't of swapped it's Caulkers but it's fairly simple to cover your centre back partner and also happens a few times a game. Maybe down to a new centre back pairing but I wouldn't say that goal is Caulkers fault also Davis should of saved it.
