  1. On average LCD tv's consume less power than plasma regardless of size. Being in the trade i find it rather strange that plasma tv's will get fazed out because of power consumption,as most manufacturers let it be known about 3-4 years ago that they did not view plasma as the future and it would all end up LCD or a variant of it.
  2. I'm for keeping sterling as on average as a currency it out performs the euro, also listened to some economist on the telly going on about how alot of people don't see the euro making it's 20th birthday. One of the reasons for this was the poor performance of the economies of recent countries that have been allowed to join.
  3. The worst thing they could do is use the indy track it would kill it dead,i'm with you i like Brands Hatch but it's just not upto the job without major work being done. There is no other track they could use should of left it alone, but then with the track alterations at Donnington the lenghth might have been all wrong as they are doing away with the Melbourne loop.
  4. Not sure about this one it's been a long time since bikes used the full length gp circuit at Silverstone and it's a fast but not very technically demanding track.
  5. I must admit i'm looking forward to the new Friday 13th remake i have always liked the early films in this series, and it sound like the way the first 3 films are going to be rolled into this one film will provide a decent structure to it.Of course it could be shockingly bad but i wont care having grown up on 80's slasher films. Not sure what to make of the idea of Nightmare on elm street remake without Robert Englund playing Freddie,he made that part his own.
  6. It's a shame to see them go hopefully someone will want to take the team over, but i think half there problem has always been the half hearted way they have gone about competing in motor gp.It always seems that Kawasaki have used outside companies to run the team with input from the factories, the same can be said for Suzuki who have only had about 2 years of winning the championship in the last 20. It certainly will be a shame if the grid drops to only 17 riders i can remember in the late 80's and early 90's when it got so expensive to run a team there was only 15 riders on the grid,i hope for the sake of the sport something can be done maybe it's time to have a third rider in a team or more local wild cards being given one off rides. With wild cards teams could take it in turns to use a rider from that countries superbike championship etc.
  7. It's the Amityville house, now the events surrounding the murders there are far weirder that the film.
  8. Maybe Fergie asked what league we are in now and was told championship and he misheard and thought it was champions league so better say something nice about the manager.

    Dont buy a kia

Not just cars like Kia, my girlfriend got a 206 tdi last year and have had a catalogue of faults with that. To start with although it was 2nd hand the car was only a year old but when we picked it up it hadn't even been valeted so had to wait whilst that was done, then got home and the seat handle fell off so needed a new one. After about a week the airbag warning light would go on and off when it felt like it,with this fault it went back 6 times before it was fixed now 12months later fault has just started again.Next the indicator/light stem became int had this replaced now 2 months later the indicators have started only working when the lights are on. The trouble is it has now put my other half off the car and she just wants shot of it,so will not ever by a Peugeot again. Before the Pug she had a Sport Ka which only ever had a steering rack fail common fault with Ka's,this part was out of stock so had to be ordered was in and fitted next day and back on the road now that how customer service should be.
  10. For the first time in years had a really poor New Years eve, went to my local and they had live entertainment which should of been ok.But they then proceeded to play a load of party games one of which lasted over and hour then when some music was played it was so loud it started to hurt your ears, and to top it all the bar service was junk and didn't get any food at the buffett. So did anyone else have a crap New Years eve.
  11. This wont matter by the time we have played him out of position at centre half a few times and destroyed his confidence should fit right in.
  12. The early airbags in tests caused more damge and injury so i think thats why no one tried them for a while, but i could see how certain bikes would be more suited to them now anything with a more upright riding position. The leg protectors were designed for side inpact protection but caused more broken legs if involved in a head on accident, then we come to the ejector seat which was meant to activate in the event of a head on collision lifting the rider up and over the vehicle it hit.The downside was the bike would still activate the seat if you had an accident going under a bridge or in a tunnell.
  13. Good luck to the bloke, did well for us last year and treated poorly this year.
  14. A similar thing was suggested years ago i think by Martin Bangerman to cut the horsepower on bikes to lower deaths resulting from speed, then someone informed him that at the time 250cc bikes could do about 130mph with about a third of the bhp of bigger bikes so power had nothing to do with it. I think he also wanted leg protectors, air bags and ejector seat research done for bike as well,so he may just of been a looney.
  15. As far as i know that is true, also Harrison Ford agreed to a lower wage for this film in return for a cut in the merchandise the studio thought this was great not realising how many toys etc would be sold over the years. I have to admit my early childhood was consumed by the Star Wars series,me and my mates had all the original figures and ships and i still have most of them now along with the boxes for them.
  16. It just seems to be never ending with the power struggle at SFC,but my main problem is that if Lowe goes i would not want to see Crouch back in control as he did a poor job last time. Also i think Wilde has made himself a complete joke by jumping ships each time there is a change in power.
  17. Had to pop into town this morning and there was signs up saying they would be closed at the start of January, although the one in Bournemouth would stay open.Same as Woolies though not many discounted items.
  18. I'm sorry but 12,000 a month to house a family of eight is a joke and can't believe anyone would think spending that sort of money on one family is correct. If it is that figure then they should be moved to another part of the country that is cheaper. Also i don't know the facts of this story but how did this family arrive here, was England the first port of call or could they of stopped in another country before getting here.
  19. Will not happen as i expect it is against their human rights.
  20. Watching it on the telly i found that allthough we pass the ball very well there just seems to be no bite or real aggresion in the way we play,we just seem to nice and it sticks out a mile that we lack any sort of leader on the pitch.
  21. Now if you bought Honda's F1 team is there a car already designed for next year now i know Honda wouldn't supply engines for it but would another manufacturers engine be ok with a bit of rework,or would the chassis just be scrap now. Also wonder where Button will go now.
  22. Also if you sell the tickets at half price for instance you don't guarantee twice as many people buying them so could just be costing the club money.
  23. I think the Echo had a good start to a story with the headline, elves brawl in gingerbread house and santa punched in grotto.
  24. Same here i was on my way home and the first thing i thought was the moon looks cool tonight, then remembered something on here about it.
  25. Have to admit went to the history museum for the first time in years last year and still found it very enjoyable, also the same year went to the Natural history museum in New York and found that i prefered it to ours but that might just be because it was a new experience.
