I am Puel in but you do have to say if Koeman stayed and we had still recruited the same 'replacements' we would probably be in a better position than we are at the moment... Puel has come in and changed the style of play, which will take time for players to understand, get used to and gel, and I do believe it will all start to click when he gets another pre season under his belt. However, if the club had kept Koeman there would be continuity, no change in the style of the play, so nothing to really unsettle the players, making it hard, in my opinion, to judge Puel's first season against Koeman's last

This post is more or less spot on! I've said many times that the missing jigsaw piece is linking the midfielders to the forwards, which I thought Boufal would be perfect for, but unfortunately he's not got a run in the team as of yet. Gabbiadini sounds like our kind of signing in the ways as you've mentioned and I think playing with 3 forwards, all being able to play through the middle and down both flanks is something that would bring more free flowing football. At times this season some of the play seems forced and uncomfortable like with Tadic. Hopefully if the lad does come he adds to our game and more importantly goals!

There's only so much a manager can do, we're normally in the game for the whole 90 minutes, bar Spurs where we completely capitulated. We play some decent football but find it hard to break some teams down or even when we do we can't finish (see last Wednesday). Yesterday VVD and Tadic both should have done better with their opportunities. One signing I'd like to see made that not many others would is a new keeper, Forster has his good moments but he lets too many poor goals in, getting beat at the near post, poor distribution at the best of times and refuses to come of his line 9 times out of 10.

Would be interesting to look more at options from the Bundesliga as that's one of the bigger European league we've not really bought many players from (apart Højbjerg, who's looking very frustrated with Puel) or looked at for any managerial candidates by the looks of things, like the list of possible managers from this summer.

As someone else has already mentioned Pellegrini is free, he's played good football, won titles and would certainly be a name to inspire the fans and possibly the team. One of the best options before Puel took the job and looking like an even better one now!

Apparently we've had scouts watching El Ghazi, like a few other Premier League clubs. He's scored 7 in 7 in the Eredivisie for Ajax this season and got an assist as well. He's still only 20, so there is huge potential in the lad and it could be a very sharp move!

Not a bad shout, technically good player in the Eredivisie, makes and scores a couple from midfield and especially with Twente being in a bit of finical difficulty (well at least they were last season), we might be in with a bloody good chance.

Not a bad player, however, he wouldn't really fit into saints normal buying policy... One player I wouldn't mind is Ziyech from Twente (he was vital for them, but they might be willing to part due to their financial problems). He got about 20 goals and assists combined in the Eredivisie last season and is not a bad technical player, don't know if he would have the physicality required in the prem, though
