I love this quote from AA in his response to Griffins A welcome break from past practice at Pompey
-
Think you'll find it said "there's probably no god". What hacks you off? that the pro-christian advert got more complaints or that the atheist advert existed in the first place?

Got the away shirt in long sleeve for £25 off eBay. Perfect condition.

Exactly, AA's plan meant that they could be one of the higher spenders in the championship in an attempt to get promotion back to the Prem. That would only be attractive to creditors if the bonus from them on promotion was a considerably uplift on the 20p in the pound. AA's offer of a 5p bonus is **** take and the other plan shows that clearly. Even if the skates get relegated into league 1 under the alternative plan the creditors will still be a lot better off than they would if the skates getting promotion under AA's plan.

Ignore The US At Your Own Peril

Rut, I can remember an interview with an fairly elderly lady yank back in 1994 a few weeks before the start of the world cup. asked for her thoughts on the world cup she remarked that she would be "rooting for Wisconsin". -

New Zealand to beat Greece in the final. Brazil, Germany and Italy all crash out in the group stage. Gonna stick some cash on it. -

That's what some people said 20 years ago.... And weren't we also supposed to have had an African winner by now? Can't see that happening for a while either. -
Ignore The US At Your Own Peril

I've read quite a few world cup blogs (mainly the Guardian) and you invariably get someone coming along saying that the US is a great team and England will be lucky to beat them etc. Firstly they've been a fixture at all world cups since 1990, so no they are not an unknown quantity and England will not be underestimating them. Secondly there is nothing wrong with England being very confident that they will beat the US. Aside from one or two players there is a lot of mediocre to poor players in the team - Jay Demerit FFS! There is a chance the US might win, after all this is football but forgive me if I lose no sleep over the US. -
Have done it a few times. It sounds a bit obvious and it's easy for me to say but a great place for some preparation running is Southsea sea front. You can do around 6 miles of the 10 mile course, if you go on a windy day it will give a good idea how hard the last two miles along the sea front can be.

if you hit the ball fairly firmly and it hits the side netting then the keeper has no chance in saving it. This is why the Germans do so well in penalty shoot-outs.
-
Compared to Germany we're really poor at these sort of things. Went to the fans mile in Berlin in 2006 and it was amazing. Plenty of toilets, food and drink plentiful and reasonable, and well stewarded. Around a million people were there to watch Germany-Sweden!

saints are better than England. Also Lambert is way better than Torres.......

Haha how funny, I live in Southsea so you called me a skate. That's original (yawn). The sister of the original poster chooses, for her own reasons, to spend some time and effort with children who no doubt are often vulnerable and left in difficult circumstances due to the actions of their parents. Your original post was rude IMO. Nowhere have I said that families of criminals are more deserving than families of victims. There are thousands of different charities out there, maybe you should rank all of them in 'deserving' priority so that the rest of us can divide our funding and efforts accordingly.
-
I was merely echoing the pointlessness and rudeness of his post.
-
Why don't you devote your time to charity? why are you wasting your time on the internet, go out and do some charity.
-
Seconded. It's easy to lazily conjure up images of criminals and their families living the life on reilly on the proceeds of their ill gotten gains but the reality is the vast majority of criminals especially those inside aren't well off. Moreover their kids have no choice in the matter. On the other hand I bet Saints get loads of requests from charities so there is bound to be some who miss out.

England and penalties. Here we go again.
anothersaintinsouthsea replied to Dark Munster's topic in General Sports
Presumably those who don't think England should practice would also tell Tiger Woods not to bother practicing holing out from 5 feet? Sticking with golf, Gary Player: "the more I practice the luckier I get" -
I guess if they were more acceptable they might have won a few more seats. Anyone who thinks Tony Blair is a socialist needs to go and read politics for dummies.

Just watching it now, Abdul claims he was born a muslim but is no longer practicising. Just seen the bit where Singh says out loud that all muslims will burn in hell. Heard some monkey chants as well. Look I'm sure that many going to EDL events aren't racist and don't hate all muslims but just from watching the first 10 mins you can see and hear plenty of racism and anti-muslim behaviour. I really can't see the point of the EDL. Just how is marching and singing football songs going to anything to stop islamic extremism? I did find it very ironic to see one placard being held up condemning the burkha with several goons in the background with caps and scarves over their faces.
-
You said there were loads of muslims who were members. Now I know that "loads" might be a bit subjective but one muslim called Abdul surely does not constitute loads. You then point out that the main spokesman is a sikh. Yes that supports the notion that loads of muslims are members, him being a sikh.

Forgive me if I'm not swayed by your powerful viewpoint. I'll happily be proved wrong if someone can show me something a little more substantive.

Chance and your guesswork is more reliable than the advice of trained medical professionals?

This is laughably doubtful

Serious question, what is purpose of the march in Luton? in summary what will the march involve?
