  1. brilliant stuff, thanks for the link.
  2. So to conclude: Saints' best academy products in the first team in the top half of the PL and Pompey's best products loaned out to non-League.
  3. Pretty sporty family according to wikipedia: "Wanyama comes from a very sporting family. His brother McDonald Mariga plays for Parma on loan from Inter Milan, also as a midfielder,[27][28] while his other brothers Thomas and Sylvester Wanyama play for Sofapaka and Sony Sugar respectively. His father, Noah Wanyama, was a footballer for A.F.C. Leopards in the 1980s,[29] and his sister Mercy is a professional basketball player in the USA.[30]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Wanyama
  4. Too true. With the rise of celebrity culture it has become almost normal to give kids unusual names. If you're filthy rich and already famous it is likely that it won't matter if you're called Cruz or Apple but if you're not and are trying to make your way in a serious profession then a stupid name can and will hinder you. Would anyone hire a lawyer to represent them called Princess Tiaamii for instance? Another one that I find annoying is giving kids "normal" names but spelling them in strange ways. Parents don't seem to get that the child (for the rest of their lives) will have to explain how to spell their name properly.
  5. Totally with you on this one Barry. I think parents who call their kids these sorts of names imagine that they sound quite classy but for me the impact is the opposite. My wife is a teacher and she took me through some of the class lists. The majority of the naughty/difficult kids had crap names (in my opinion of course) that were either surnames or "normal" first names that were spelled incorrectly.
  6. His Ivorian team mate has denied making the comments that appeared on the CSKA website
  7. If I'd have a thought a bit more when I was teenager about how much of my future life I'd spend working I'm sure I'd have taken a different degree and thus a different career path. On a more trivial note I'd have been more of slag during school days. I was far too fussy when I should've been trying to fill my boots.
  8. You won't be saying that when we win old big ears in three years time....
  9. That must be ********... ...you can't have any friends.
  10. Andy Parsons ‏@andypars 2m #askharry if you got offered the England job, would you have gone straight to the board and asked for money to spend? That'd be triffic!
  11. Kevin Saul ‏@KevS1973 35s #askharry How do you deal with these rumours that Prince Charles isn't really your father? #notsureifthisisright
  12. bradley fuller ‏@bradleyfuller84 4m #AskHarry Is it billy bonds smashed your wife's back doors in at the Christmas party the reason you stitched him up and nicked his job
  13. What's the difference in prices between now and previous seasons? Also, not living in Southampton, how aggressive are the club in driving sales? any local advertising campaigns etc or just an expectation that people should just turn up?
  14. Bad decision if true. At best they should be aiming to be a yo-yo club in the short to medium term a bit like West Brom a few years ago. Holloway unexpectedly got them up, could any manager be doing a better job with that squad?
  15. Wow, glad he's well on the way back to full recovery.
  16. almost. think what he was actually saying is that if you took the top players from the top clubs and got them playing the same as Saints then you have a team to match Bayern.
  17. Blatant attention seeking and actually trivialises the fight against racism.
  18. Is it still OK to liken Gareth Bale to a monkey?
  19. Too true, there's simply no way of sugar-coating that.
  20. The thing about Allen is that he's not actually a Pompey fan but acts like one just to curry flavour with his readers.
  21. This is a classic non-story. No one is offended and no one thinks it's racist.
  22. Does it state that it was a black player taking offence?
  23. Not sure but I'm still trying to figure out why Allen is telling us that "operating turnover does not include aged debt". Yes but that is true of every business in the land. Debt isn't turnover, he's an accounting Sherlock Holmes. If wages really are 30% of 5.5m (=1.6m to 1.7m) then why are they still making such a stonking great loss?
