Yep pretty good although I'd move Newcastle up above Everton and Villa and change the order a bit near the bottom (Fulham down a few, QPR down one or two, Wigan at the bottom). Saints are in about the right spot.

what makes you think the rest of the EU will play ball? Cameron has made us even more unpopular. Most of the Eu is more concerned with sorting out the Euro crisis, the UK's latest paddy about Europe is an irritating distraction for them. Cameron may be able to outwit Clegg and Milliband but his chances of outwitting Merkel are less obvious. I'm guessing she and the rest of the EU may just tell him to put up or shut up - your either in the EU the same as everyone else or you're out. Which way would callmeDave vote in that scenario?

Possibly a smart move with regard to domestic politics but this whole affair just makes me even more apathetic about UK politics. Cameron has only been plugging this anti-EU stance because his poll-rating were so low, it's just blatant electioneering and nothing to do with what's "best for Britain".

The media want the fans to revolt and the club to implode as this makes more interesting copy. The fans did the right thing last night by keeping a lid on it. Chelsea fans have been totally self-indulgent, given how close we are to the relegation zone we can't afford such naval gazing or indeed navel gazing .

Great post the9, hits the nail on the head for me. If you get success you want to feel it is success that is earned and has integrity. You want to be proud of your achievement and proud of how you achieved it. If we go on to greater things we'll never know if Adkins could've achieved the same but any success will need to be something really special for it not to be tainted with our terrible treatment of a great manager and a great bloke.

I'd imagine that Adkins would've had a cast iron case for constructive dismissal. Don't think money played any part in this sorry episode.
