You mean Chris HUHNE I've already said that people should lobby and protest during electoral terms. Politicians are always trying to gage public opinion, often through the media, so democracy doesn't get suspended in between elections.
-
But referenda aren't perfect. They let MPs absolve themselves of responsibility and leadership and are open to abuse by passionate minority interest groups. Who tf is Chris?
-
This is going round in circles Dude so this is my last contribution unless things change tack: I personnally don't see the need for a referendum and think they should be kept to a minimum as I feel that the normal course of parliamentary democracy is sufficient.
-
You asked if MPs should listen to their constituents. I replied that it would be preferable if they did but it was up to MPs themselves. What more do you want?
-
eh what's your problem? Are you too thick to understand what I was saying?
-
Well you'd think it would be preferrable but utimately that's up to the politician and whether or not they want to improve their chances at getting re-elected.
-
I think my answer is pretty clear.

All the more reason for that Tory voter to switch to UKIP at the next election if said referendum has not been forthcoming.
-
Or alternatively why do people vote for those who don't represent their opinion?
-
I've already answered the question ages ago in this thread. I don't think we need a referendum. If people feel strongly enough about leaving Europe they should vote UKIP at the General Election.
-
Lol you implore me not to use insults after telling me I live in a ****-hole. you're a clown.
-
I'm just trying to understand your bizarre scatter-gun labelling of people and vitriolic black and white opinionating.
-
Have you got some form of tourettes?
-
So I am of the extreme left then? So your definition of whether or not someone is extreme left is based on their view of referenda? Nothing to do with how to manage the economy, ownership of the means of production, workers rights etc etc.
-
You're right, it's not particularly open minded but then it's my view that you elect MPs and let them decided policy. If you want to influence them then write them letters, protest, lobby etc but don't expect a referendum. Are you conceding that this doesn't make me of the extreme left?
-
Apart from being utter tripe what has any of this got to do with me or my post in which I mentioned that I wasn't generally in favour of referenda? Are you suggesting that everyone on this thread who doesn't agree with an EU in-out referendum is automatically of the extreme left? Your POVs are increasingly more childish in their lack of nuance. The only political group that has been consistently pro-EU have been those towards the political centre. Maybe you should send Ken Clarke a memo telling him that he's now of the extreme left.
-
yes, I was just wondering what relevance they had to anything in my post, upon which you were commenting, or indeed any post on this thread.

As for the actual question in the OP (which most seemed to have ignored) we generally haven't done well with players who've cost a lot in relative terms. I'd suggest Crouch was a good buy. Can't remember exactly how much he cost (£2m) but he scored a fair few goals and we sold him on at a considerable profit.
-
extreme left? wtf are you on you clown?
-
Exactly. Why have a referendum on EU membership and not on other issues?
-
Ta. Next question Alpine Saint?
-
Well in the medical world they class alcoholism as a disease but wtf do doctors know eh? In addition, as others have noted, he has underlying mental health issues.
-
loltastic, so to be a Board member you have to be suffering a mental disorder.

Salmond: A Murray win will be fantastic for the Yes campaign, a Scot successful on the world stage.... Cameron: A Murray win will be fantastic for the No campaign, I wish that smug **** Salmond wasn't ruining my photo shot.... Miliband: I'm so lonely. Why does everyone hate me?
