Rory Delap's notororious long throw .

True, remember watching Fuller and Jones up front one game. Some of the idiots around me: when Jones ****ed up - "for ****s sake Fuller", and when Fuller did something good - "nice one kenwyne". Idiots. -

Because vacancies take time to fill? If I was you I wouldn't be expected the Nobel Prize for Economics any time soon.
-
This is so simplistic. This may be the case on an inidividual by individual basis. But if the number of unemployed in the UK, for example, goes up by 1 million are you saying that there are 1 million unfilled vacancies waiting to be filled? In 'normal' conditions of steady growth I accept that there is little excuse for the vast majority of people to be unemployed but during recession then this isn't the case.

I'm doing it for the third time, don't care what time I get just aiming to get round without stopping. Question is: to wear a Saints shirt or not? more danger of being laughed at than attacked.
-
very easy to say. are you saying is that there is never any excuse for being unemployed?

Is it me, or is John McCain....

Rubbish. What redknapp left plenty out of that quote: his spell at Bournemouth left them bankrupt, he wasted loads of money at west ham and won nothing, he had relatively loads to spend on Championship Portsmouth, and Saints were above the relegation zone when he arrived.

But over 90% of future income is going to go straight on to player wages. With your current structure you are going to making big losses so your loans will only get bigger. If you get relegated or sky decide that the next TV contract isn't worth as much as the current one then you are up **** creek.

"Totally without arrogance"!!!!!! you are effing joking.

Not really Camara was pretty popular after we beat Norwich 4-3. While he was by no means a "hate figure" there was consistent criticism of HR during that period mainly on his negative attitude. It's been well documented on here that his **** poor management in our first championship season and disgraceful disrespect towards Saints.

Too true. Platini would like nothing more than English football to go back in time to the early 90s when we had few foreigner players and were also uncompetitive in Europe. He's a bit hypocritical too - I seem to remember him playing football outside of France. All of his comments have a side agenda of undermining English football dominance. He moans about the debts of our big clubs saying that it gives them an unfair advantage - ignoring the Italian and Spanish clubs have been either funded by rich individuals or indirectly by local municipalities for years. Don't seem to remember Uefa complaining much when it wasn't the English clubs dominating. Take Arsenal for example. Their debt is solely due to them self-financing their own stadium. Most large Italian clubs had huge stadia built for them as part of Italia 90. Haven't those clubs therefore gained an unfair advantage on Arsenal?

Indeed e.g. under Thatcher public sector borrowing increased despite increasing oil revenues and wholesale privatisation.

Great result, with so many youngsters in the side confidence is crucial so two wins on the trot is just what the doctor ordered. Didn't get to the game so: Will JP persist with Mills at left back and so free up Surman for midfield?

Actually they're not correct. People generally misunderstand the true meaning of "free market". "Free" markets are markets that are free from barriers to economic efficiency not markets that are free from government regulation. In this case under-regulated mortgage lending and debt-trading has caused an almighty ****-up - the unfettered market was itself a barrier to a "free" market. Effective regulation, like rules to limit sub-prime lending, would have prevented these barriers.

I'm guessing some sort of glue covering his stitches.

There is nothing of value for taking part in such tournaments for England. We need to use friendlies to develop less experienced players, get comfortable with different formations and get used to playing different styles of international football. A home nations competition will be frenetic and not suitable for the above IMO.

Saints vs Blackpool - Post Match Reaction
anothersaintinsouthsea replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
The penalty was a penalty. The Blackpool player milked it because he knew that White was going to be hasty and challenge him. He made sure that White would clatter him so it was clever from him. If it had been the other way round and not given then we'd have gone mental. As for the game, i thought we tried to do the right things but we just lacked the energy and composure needed to overcome a well organised defence. Blackpool played their cards perfectly and should have won by more although all of the disallowed goals were correct decisions. This match showed that we're vulnerable against big teams at the set piece and against sides that break at pace which probably isn't surprising but Jan needs to work out how we're going to improve on this. It's great that Killer is back but unfortunately (and entirely undrstandably) he's lost a bit of athleticism which resulted in Burgess dominating. Perry meanwhile wasn't quick enough to beat Kabba to the second ball. Surman did ok but I don't think he's a natural defender and would rather he played in midfield where his class will be shown better. Thought Gillet didn't do enough today so potentially should be dropped and replaced by Surman. -
Some good suggestion but to be fair I ****in hate that Man U ronaldo tune, it is such a monotonous drone but maybe that's just because it's sung by mancs. Not that I've got anything better to offer. . . .
