Burnley Bucket collection, how many volunteers.

Until someone can explain otherwise I just see collecting cash from fans is pointless and morally questionable. The players are presumably still drawing the several grand a week salaries? -
League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season
anothersaintinsouthsea replied to Danny's topic in The Saints
Leicester sneakily shed their stadium debt years ago before the points penalty came in being. As another have said, it's crazy to blame fans for any of this, given the amount of rubbish we have to put up with on and off the pitch I think it's a great credit that we get as many turning up as we do. -

administration just after the 31 March deadline...what fecking incompetance. any lowe supporters will to mount a defence? -
We'll probably find that the CCTV cameras in the area weren't working properly and that the police footage of the incident will go "missing". Not that I'm cynical.

From now on I will never put my hands in my pockets in public just in case anyone worries that I might be a menace to society, or worse still a hero copper decides to take me out from behind. Just what could he have in those trouser pockets? an AK-47 perhaps? a bazooka? a ballistic missile? Oh stop being a drama queen. The area was choc-a-bloc with police and how can you tell what was behind the camera in the direction he was walking? How do you know he was walking away from the main crowd? Oooooh a lone middle-aged man in light clothing is strolling along with his hands in his pockets away from the police. I bet they were ****ting themselves that something major was going to kick-off. How do you know they asked him that? Why should he move to be under control? Nothing in the picture suggests that he is out of control in the first place. "tackled"? I didn't see a "tackle". For the record I wouldn't have tackled him nor would I have have attacked him from behind with a truncheon to the back of the legs and then a double handed shove in his back. Utterly cowardly from a bloke backed up by a group of colleagues with dogs, wearing body armour, ski mask and wielding a 2 ft trucheon.

I left early, first game this season but I can't be bothered to be a Saints fan when we start losing. If Pompey stay up I'll start supporting them but if not probably Man U or Liverpool depending on which one wins the league.

Sorry didn't read your previous post properly.

70% of the cost is to come from a supermarket? WTF!!! A supermarket is going to £12m odd quid to PFC for a site that is only 1/2 a mile from a big Asda - let along their own cost of actually building the supermarket and improving roads. Any pompey fan who believes this rubbish is a complete loon - mind they all fell for the previous publicity stunts.

The nearby Asda has now had a new floor put in above the main foodhall so is now as big, if not bigger, than most of their other stores.

Swedish football update

I went to watch Kalmar about 17 years ago whilst on a family holiday. They had a bloke with a loud-hailer wandering around the athletics track trying to drum up some chants but everyone ignored him. great days... -
Next time I go to SMS I shall buy a ticket in the Northam. I will sit the whole game and expect everyone around to do so as well. If they don't I shall request them to sit in accordance with ground regulations. I'll report back on here how I get on.

On the other hand there have been countless episodes where there have only been white characters in Eastenders. Which, when you consider the ethnic mix of the real east of London, is much more of an eye brow raiser than having an all black episode.

I hear you mate, great song.

The Thales link is purely on the design side as the French have joined forces in this area so they can build their own versions. The build will be 100% in the UK, some of it in Portsmouth. VT's exit is good news in my opinion and shouldn't negatively impact shipbuilding on the south coast - the opposite is more likely.

This doesn't seem to be the default view of many people on this thread but keep on enjoying knocking down your straw man. My default view is that civilians should not be deliberately targeted, collective punishment of civilians is wrong, and the impact of military conflict upon civilians should be minimised. The death toll and destruction in Gaza beyond any proportion - a comparison of the casualties from either side suggests this is the case. TDD - just because you have a hatred of organisations like Hamas doesn't mean that you should turn a blind eye to Israel's wrong doing. The world isn't black and white.
-
the fact you refer to Palestinians as "the muslims" is quite damning and proves that you are unable to provide a rational view on the subject

Our fans chanting "Who are you" whenever we score.
anothersaintinsouthsea replied to derry's topic in The Saints
I remember people around me doing this after Phillips scored to put us two up against Villa in our last season in the Prem. Idiots. -
Agreed that there is hypocricy but it's interesting that you chose that analogy as it really doesn't provide any support for Israel's strategy. How many Argentinian civilians were killed during the Flaklands conflict? How much damage was there to the Argentinian civil infrastructure? Were any Argentinians starved or any hospitals denied medical supplies? There is quite a big difference between defence and collective punishment. No right thinking person should have a problem with the former or excuse the latter.

if he doesn't find offense in it that's up to him but would you not agree that some people do find words like nigger and paki offensive? and that therefore someone who is third in line to the throne should probably exercise a little bit of caution in his choice of words? In that position you have to be seen to be "whiter than white" (lol!) Overall I agree this is an overblown story, typical of the sensationalist rubbish so often found in the tabloids - interestingly the NotW normally rail against "PC gone mad" so, yet again, they are being hypocritcal.

Surely this is redknapp justifying some intense transfer activity to the Spurs board? -

Well they do say history is written by the victors but how many million native americans do you think were killed, starved or died of newly introduced diseases? how much land do they have compared to 200/300/400 years ago? Sure it wasn't industrial genocide like the holocaust but by most definitions it was genocide and a lot of it was deliberate.

Quite right. In fact International Law allows countries to take action to defend itself. However International Law also say that any such actions have to be proportionate: 4 Israeli civilians have been killed during this particular bout and 5 soldiers (4 from friendly fire). 595 Palestinians have been killed - 195 of them children. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/7814054.stm

I can agree with that, unfortunately extremist on both sides have only one truth.

Biast lol. People on the other side of the argument will always make such claims - especially when they start to look like the bad guys. I'm sure many pro-Palestinians also think that the media is "biast" but this time against them. There are plenty of videos on Youtube that support the other side of the story too, like settlers harrassing and attacking Palestinians. Do you deny that goes on or are you just as "biast".
